"I need you to come here, Raven."
Rebel's image suddenly popped into my head and tried to mindlink me when I was about to close my eyes.
"What? Where? Is it urgent?" I asked in annoyance. I want to go to bed so wrong.
"Yes. I need you to come here asap. I'm at the edge of no man's territory."
"You better make sure that it is important, Rebel, or else I'm going to kick your ass," I hissed at him in irritation.
I was about to go to bed. I've been confused all this time. First was the death of Stacey, the second was the ancient book and the translation, and the last was the woman I found tied down in the no man's packhouse. What the heck is going on? And Onix, yes, him being Stacey's mate. My mind is a mess right now, and the only thing I want to do is sleep and rest my mind.
I angrily put on my shoes before glancing at the wall clock. It's one a.m. I walk out of the room before locking the door behind me.
"Sphere, I'm going out," I said to the man who was conversing with a warrior when I passed by him outside.
"Where are you going, Alpha, at this late?" he asked worriedly.
"The highness summoned me. I'll be back in the morning, I guess," I replied to him before opening the door of my car.
I could run if I wanted to, but I'm too tired to run.
"Alright, Alpha. Please take care," he said before bidding me goodbye. I stepped on the gas and left the packhouse.
It took me a few minutes to arrive at the place the King told me. I jumped off the car, scanned the area, and felt his presence.
I didn't find him, so I decided to sit on the hood of my car and call him.
"Your majesty, come out this instant," I said before crossing my arms on my chest. "I don't have the mood to go and look around for you. Come and let's get done with it," I called him.
And then I heard him chuckling before walking towards me, coming from the massive formation of rocks a few meters away from me. He was buttoning his shirt but barefooted.
My brows immediately arched when I saw his appearance.
"Did you do a quickie before coming here?" I sneered at him.
The bastard grinned at me.
"What if I did?" He answered me with a question while approaching me. He locked me in between his arms on the hood as he leaned closer to me.
"You are such a freaking bastard," I jeered.
He laughed loudly.
"Why are you taking it seriously, Raven? Although I'm a king, I don't usually fool around," he said before sniffing my hair.
This made me feel a little bit shy.
"Don't do that," I scolded.
"Why would I not? You smell something funny," he said. I could sense the hint of anger in his voice.
His eyes suddenly glowed and made my knees go weak.
He grabbed my arms, and without warning, he pulled me. He then roughly opened the passenger seat door, and he pushed me inside.
"What the heck is w-"
"Give me the keys!" He said, seething with anger.
"No! This is my car, and I-"
"GIVE ME THE FUCKING KEYS, RAVEN!" he growled with his commanding voice.
I couldn't do anything but hand him the keys. I cringed when I saw his ambush gold eyes glowing in madness.
He then slammed the door shut, which made the car rock.
"What the heck is his problem, Raven?" Claw asked, annoyed.
"I don't have any idea," I replied.
I watched Rebel walk to the driver's seat while glaring intensely.
He climbed into my car and drove it like a mad driver.
"Slow down, Bastard! You're going to break my car or kill us," I screamed while clinging to the dashboard.
"This is a sports car, and you should drive like this. Plus, we're werewolves; we can't die for just a mere accident," he answered before turning the steering wheel to the left, causing me to plunge my face into his thigh.
"Slow down!" I told him and squeezed his thigh tightly.
He looked at me and growled. He accelerated his driving even more until we reached an underground parking lot. He stopped the vehicle right before the valet and then got off. It circled the passenger seat door and suddenly pulled me out.
I growled at him, and he just snarled back at me, and I ended up whining at him before grabbing me in the arms again.
"Park the car nice, Jake," he said to the man who approached us. I hope he didn't hear us growling at each other.
"Yes, sir," he replied, smiling after Rebel tossed him a couple of rolled dollar bills.
Rebel pulled me into an elevator. He pressed the close button and then the button indicating the "P" letter, which I didn't understand.
"W-where are we going?" I hesitated to ask him.
"To my mating pad," he replied to me.
"Huh?"
Before he could even answer, the elevator door opened, and he again pulled me towards the black closed door. He used his free hand and entered the code.
The door suddenly opened up, revealing the inside to me. Rebel proceeded to enter while he was pulling me. Then he let me go when the door closed.
"What the heck is this? Where are we? What are we doing here?" I repeatedly asked him as I roamed my eyes across the room. It's empty. Except for the tallest building, the space is empty as I can see through the glass walls.
Did he buy this pad?
He didn't answer; instead, he pressed a button that made the glass walls turn into black color. Another wall opened up, and it revealed a bedroom. There is a large California king bed and several sofa sets. This is just the part of the pad that is not empty.
"Your penthouse is empty," I told him and didn't notice that he had removed his polo shirt.
He didn't listen to what I said.
