"What in the world was that?" Gretel asked me after she shot the half-shifted Lycan.
"Looks like his shift isn't done yet," I answered before walking to the pool of blood where the lycan used to be.
I dip my fingers in the blood and smell it.
"Ugh."
I couldn't help but grimace at the smell. It was the smell of rotting flesh mixed with a rusting scent. I'm not too fond of the smell. A lycan blood shouldn't be like this.
"How does it smell, my lady?" Hamtaro asked me.
"Smells like shit," I told him. "We'll rest tonight, and we will track the blood first thing in the morning," I announced to them.
Everyone settled for the night. The other that doesn't need to sleep is the watch guard tonight.
I was about to sleep in my sleeping bag when Gretel looked at me.
"Since when did you learn to sleep?" she asked me. "I remember you not sleeping in the Cube."
I smiled at her.
