"Keep an eye on everything. I need to go somewhere," I said to him.
"Yes, Alpha." He nodded.
I immediately exited the packhouse and went straight to the parking space. When I saw my car, I accelerated my walk and then got in and drove away from the packhouse.
I ended up at a club that humans owned.
"Hey! Long time no see, Raven," Stacey said to me smilingly. She is the only person aware of my identity and helps me hunt down the murderer who killed my family. Although she's working as a bartender, she also studied some black magic and ancient artifacts. Plus, her mom is mated to one of my pack members, but they live outside.
"Hey," I greeted her and sat at the steel chair in front of the bar counter.
"The usual?" she asked.
"Yes." I nodded. I pulled out the square shape bell in my pocket.
Stacey put the drinks in front of me.
"Are you familiar with this?" I asked her while shaking the bell in front of her creating a sound.
I saw her eyes widen as if she already knew what this thing was.
"Where did you get this?" she asked me.
"Someone dropped that in the woods inside my territory," I replied. "I don't know where it came from, but it has some strange scent," I explained.
"Okay. I'll be out in two hours. Why don't you enjoy yourself first, and then we'll talk later?"
"Okay. Call me when you're done," I uttered while nodding my head.
The raging fire I felt earlier began to rise in my dry throat.
"Hurry! Find someone before you become uncontrollable," Claw said, urging me to move fast.
"I'm trying!"
As I walked into the dance floor and started to dance, someone suddenly held my waist.
"Hi," he greeted, a sweet smile on his face. Though the music was so loud, I still heard him.
"Hey!" I smiled back at him.
He's taller than me and has an average look that I will quickly see in the crowd.
"Are you alone?" he asked.
"Yeah!"
"Want to go somewhere else and have a chitchat?"
I approached him and leaned slightly to reach his ear. Where in truth, I just wanted to smell his blood flowing in his neck.
"I don't have any place here. Would you mind if we go to your place?" I whispered in his ear so he could hear me.
He then smiled at me.
"Yeah, sure," he said, holding my hand, and he guided me out of the bar and went to the club's parking lot.
"My place is about thirty minutes away. Is that okay with you?" he said before opening the car for me.
"We can do it here inside your car if you want," I replied, smiling at him.
The more I felt thirsty, the more craving I felt.
"Okay," he quickly agreed and turned on the aircon.
Fortunately, he parked his car in the dark area of the parking lot. Apart from that, the window of his car was tinted.
"So—uh, are you single?"
"I wouldn't follow you here if I'm not," I replied.
"Well," he mumbled and slowly leaned closer to me.
Every inch of my body was screaming to push him away from me, but I restrained myself. If I want to get through this damn thirst, I must suppress myself as I need his blood.
"Will you mind if I kiss you," he whispered huskily.
"No, I don't." I grabbed his head towards me, and our lips touched. It's not that I want this, but I needed this process.
'Gross!" Claw screamed disgustingly.
'Shut it! We both needed this!' I snorted.
The guy whose name I don't bother to ask started to run his kisses to my neck. He unintentionally shifted his neck, revealing his neck. This position gave me access to his neck, which I had been waiting for him to do. My fangs elongated, and then I grabbed his head so he would be immobilized. I bit his neck, and my fangs penetrated his neck. The moment I tasted human blood inside my mouth, I felt like I was in ecstasy. No wonder human blood is the primary food source for a vampire; it can bring you from heaven back to earth. It was as if you were mating with your mate. It's so satisfying.
'You! Don't dry him up, or he'll die,' Claw reminded me.
'I know,' I replied.
As soon as I drank my fill, I pushed the man back to the driver's seat, now very cold. I grabbed some tissue on his dashboard and wiped my lips. My eyes landed in the rearview mirror and saw my reflection in it. The different colors of my eyes glowed in, the blue on the left and red on the right side. This usually happens when I feed on human blood. The vampire part of me shows up every time I do that. And it will take five minutes for it to go back to sleep.
'Are you sure you didn't kill the human?' Claw asked me while walking back to the club and meeting Stacey.
'Yep. Hundred percent,' I assured her.
"How about the mark? His memory? Did you erase it too?" Her voice carried a hint of worry.
"Claw, chill. Since when did I become reckless when I fed?" I uttered.
"I'm just checking on you, girl. We cannot afford to be reckless."
Stacey took me to her apartment.
"Witch Cradle," she told me.
"What?" I asked after sitting on her sofa as she removed her scarf.
"The thing you gave me is a witch Cradle," she replied before picking up a book on the bookshelf not far from where I was sitting. "Look at this."
She shows me the image of the same bell on the page of the book that she opened.
"It says that skinwalkers made this bell many centuries ago," she explained. "This bell, when being rang, can hypnotize, especially for those its target," she added. "Plus, this bell can only be used once and only by a skinwalker."
I was deep in thought.
"Kaydon told me about skinwalkers had gone extinct. But I started to believe that someone was still alive, lurking outside, following and observing me from the dark. If not, how could that thing appear on my land? And I am a hundred percent sure that it must be the one behind those rogues attacks for the last four days, "I replied.
"I can help you find out more about skinwalker, Raven," she said. "I'll send you the data after finding something about it."
I looked at her.
"Be careful, Stacey. And I will appreciate your help," I replied to her.
