NEW YORK CITY
The doctor is in his office, and he is staring at the file that belongs to Amanda Sternberg. He has been up all night, going through her entire medical file, and only one thing stand out about the file in his hand.
This was not a canine bite; this patient was bitten by a vampire.
The doctor gets up from his chair and walks away from his office. He goes straight to Amanda's ward, and he sees her on her bed, staring mindlessly into the ceiling. Despite the fact that she has been through a traumatic experience, she looks otherwise healthy.
She should be dead, but she is not.
