Rajesh and Meera were sitting at the platform, waiting for the train, which was supposed to have arrived 3 minutes earlier. Rajesh noticed the ethereal glow on Meera's face. Meera caught his glance and it brought a burst of crimson on her face. One hour back seated at mother-in-laws sofa, amma had in a soft tone, given the sweetest news. Amma had taken Meera to the doctor and the Doctor had said, after what seemed an eternity of check-up, that meera was in the family way.
As Rajesh heard it, he couldn't believe, what he was being told. Suddenly it was a feeling of going blank, before an explosion of rainbow colors, a fountain of chill water on a sunny day, an array of mouth-watering dishes before a hungry person.
All the emotions were having a whirlwind inside Rajesh. He wanted to talk to Meera, but not here in the crowd. On the way back home, seated at the platform, he wanted to ask many questions. Yet didn't know where, how to start. Suddenly out of nowhere, a stranger, an old man came n sat near Rajesh. Not minding him Rajesh clutched Meeras hand protectively. The train was coming.
The old man turned to Rajesh and said, "Dear son, I see, soon you will be blessed with a child. Such a child who will bring fortune to the house she stays, but take care, to look, cultivate and protect it, for one cannot say what an SPARK if not handled properly, will do". Rajesh thought it to be blabbering of old man, and decided to ignore it. The old man smiled and continued," Don't worry, this SPARK is the LIGHT, and it will never waver or fade, so go happy".
It stuck to Meera's mind and added an extra bounce to her step.
