Meera was happy, but an addition to the family, means additional expenses. Rajesh and Meera decided that meera would take up a part time job, and save the money earned. Meera thought, it would be great opportunity, to use her studies and knowledge. She planned to take up a maternity break after the baby was born, and then join again, a job which would help in their child's education.
Everything seemed perfect. The baby was growing. Luckily for her, her first trimester sailed through like a breeze. There was no experiences like the ones she had listened to from her mother and friends. She was happy, ready to welcome the new life.
Then into her fifth month, one fine day came Shreeja with her three month old daughter Riya. Shreeja was Rajesh sister. Then she dropped the bomb. Shreeja had a fight with her husband regarding his beliefs that only she should take care of the child and not expect him to work with changing diapers, feeding baby at night or cleaning bottles.Shreeja didn't want to go back. She was crying.
Rajesh tried to console her. Meera tried to reason with her. Both their efforts failed. Shreeja wasn't in the mood to listen. Rajesh and Meera decided to give the issue some time, and thought it would get sorted with time, by itself.
Now with more members, meera decided to change from part time to full time work. Shreeja wouldn't work, as her baby was too small. Time was running, and Meera was experiencing changes. She could feel the baby bump. Though, it was happy time, she continued to stay tired, exhausted, with little energy for work or taking care of herself.
Meera started wondering, if Shreeja will ever leave. In her eighth month, Meera didn't want to think about anything else, except to stay positive and happy.
Meera thought Shreeja should decide soon. Rajesh was also not talking about the issue, saying he need to concentrate more in his work, to get that long awaited promotion.
Only time had answer to the couple's question.
