"It is alright now. You were having a nightmare." Erik caressed her hair.
Aryana snuggled into Erik's chest and started sobbing. She felt the anguish in her heart and her spirit was downcast.
"There were four women in the alley and drunk men." Aryana started. Her voice croaked.
Erik was anxious. What did she dreamt about?
"Then a man came and beat them. I think it was you. Then one of the men pointed a knife on one of the women and you get beaten up. Someone pulled a gun and pointed at you but Daddy came and beat him up. And then he .. he .. pulled the trigger and daddy fell…" she sobbed loudly.
She recounted her dream without even pausing to breath. She was afraid that if she paused, the fleeting memory would be gone and she will not be able to catch it.
Erik almost did not undertand her. She talked too fast while sobbing. He just listened to her while he hugged and soothed her with his hands.
