Chapter 10 - Celena Woodlands

Honestly, Han Zhong has forgotten about this place a bit. The sun's rays made the cloudless horizon as blue as Finux's eyes. Han Zhong looked down, observing a city surrounded by Bluelit forest—the outermost forest of the Celena Woodlands area. Like a country, Celena Woodlands may look like the heart and capital of a country.

There are a lot of elves that live and breed here. They set up cottages, wooden-roofed shops, expanded markets and owned their own residential blocks. Although the elves are very dependent on nature and the forest, they still maintain a balance of their forest.

Because there is a Lune Temple, the place where the heart of the city is located, a very different culture from outside the forest lifestyle. Lune Temple is like a city, elves who lived and were born there had a different lifestyle from the elves who were born and lived in the outside city Lune Temple. Bluelit forest and Celena forest are far different from Lune Temple. That is why the Celena Woodland is very big too.

Han Zhong observed the bustle of the elves from above the sky. Creatures that have unique forms are basically similar to humans. Their physique is only shorter and has pointed ears and a sharp nose. They wear clothes that are like humans and have smarter brains. It's just that, because Elves were born from the power of the moon, they all literally have an orb light and power of magic. And literally, they were Myth Eaven. Even if there was a Myth Abyss, they usually didn't live in the heart of the city. They live in swamps or the deepest forests of Celena.

As he passed the Lune Temple bustling with the activity of the Elves, Han Zhong's gaze fell on a wood shop not far from the block below. Because Han Zhong looked with his Dragon Eyes, by accident, he found a girl his age being scolded by an old elf. The girl looked weak and resigned. As if she needed something important but the man didn't even want to give it.

"Can you drop me off here?" asked Han Zhong.

Finux glanced at Han Zhong from the corner of his eye. "Very well, young master."

Finux's wide wings flew low, they moved low and landed on a less crowded block. Han Zhong ran towards a wood shop where the girl was still being scolded by the man who turned out to be a wood seller.

"... you still owe three pieces of silver. Twice you asked for eight logs! If you can't pay, next time cut down a tree in the forest yourself!"

The wood-seller's shout was so loud that the elves walking around glanced at them. That elf girl looked down with a gloomy face. That girl was wearing dull, dark blue clothes. She had silvery white hair and was quite beautiful.

"But my mother still hasn't recovered, and we need more wood to keep ourselves warm. I can't cut down trees carelessly either, please, Mr. Wood, give me five more logs—this time—uh, no, just three. Please?"

"Go away from here. Don't think you're an elf girl so I don't dare throw you out? If you are poor, then it is better to pray to the Moon. Don't keep asking and don't try! Make money and go to work!"

The wood seller was about to push the elf girl away, but Han Zhong deftly pulled the girl back and made Han Zhong who was hit by the wood seller's strong push.

Instantly, the girl was startled, she fell to the ground a bit but immediately looked up and found Han Zhong holding back his feet from the wood seller's strong push. The wood seller was stupefied and looked at Han Zhong in astonishment.

"Who are you?" he asked, frowning.

Han Zong didn't answer his words, instead, he reached out to the girl with a smile.

"Are you okay?" asked Han Zhong. The girl had accepted Han Zhong's hand. Her hands were cold and had slender fingers because the female elf mostly worked as a healer in the forest. Han Zhong helped her to get up.

"Th—thank you…"

"Hey, I'm talking to you little brat—" the wood seller grabbed Han Zhong's hand. Just as the threat came, the Finux behind him appeared. He narrowed his sharp eyes. Making the wood seller and elves around there suddenly shocked in silence.

From a distance, Han Zhong could hear them whispering softly, "Isn't that the dragon boy?"

"What is he doing here?"

"Did they cross the border of the Bluelit forest smoothly?"

"Is it one of the dragons too?"

"Wow, the dragon child is coming here."

"You… dragon child? What are you doing here?" asked the wood seller in surprise. His grip loosened and he took a step back.

All elves are rightly subservient to the Dragon Child. But Han Zhong did not take advantage of that status to scare people. He just wanted to save this little girl from the wood seller's rudeness.

"I didn't really plan to stop by here. I was aiming at another place but coincidentally, when I was flying over, I accidentally saw this girl being bullied by you. Actually, what's wrong with giving five logs to a poor elf girl? You also seem to be very rich to the point where it wouldn't be a loss to give a few logs," said Han Zhong boldly with a calm face. Behind him, the girl seemed to be hiding.

"Sorry lord dragon, but it's really my fault," muttered the girl. "You should go back to your own business," said her timidly.

"She said was right. After all, this is our business, you take care of more important things there!" blurted out the wood seller.

"You think that ignoring poverty isn't something important? There are reasons why a person cannot do something. And you an elf, do you really understand the meaning of peace?"

The wood-seller elf snorted lightly, "You are just a kid. What do you know about peace? Peace exists if the Abyss and the Folix never come here. You're the lucky dragon kid to live in the highest place—what do you know about social inequality? Well, you better not take care of me. Go away—"

Just as Han Zhong was about to raise his spear, he felt the touch of the elf girl behind him snatch his hand away. Stopping Han Zhong of what he wanted to do. But Han Zhong turned his head, asking with a look to the girl.

"It is my fault. Better not to continue. I don't want my mother to get into any more trouble with the people of this town."

Han Zhong looked at the weak girl then turned around empty-handed. Finux behind him also seemed to be telling Han Zhong not to interfere anymore. He was just a kid, but the burden he was born with was already very big. And the lessons from grandfather so far are things he must practice from an early age. He knew what he was doing.

"Wait!" Han Zhong exclaimed as he caught up with the elf girl who were already halfway past the block behind him.

The elf girl turned her head, sending her silver hair falling strand after strand over his shoulder.

"Are you going home?"

"Yes, my mother waited for me too long. I have to give her medicine."

"So your mother is sick?" asked Han Zhong as he resumed his walk at a calm pace.

"Yes. It's been almost two weeks. Moreover, the weather here is getting colder. The pain just got worse."

Han Zhong had no idea how much effort people put into keeping their life alive. But what Han Zhong understood was that life in this world was very precious. And if he can help them, no matter how small, he can mean a lot to other people.

"What's your name? I can help. My name is Han Zhong, son of the Dragon and this is my dragon. Finux."

The little elf girl's smile faded. She looked at Han Zhong with her navy blue eyes that were as deep as the night sky.

"My name is Naya."
