In a desolate place far away:
"Sir we have narrowed down the location to cluster bloom. It is a rather forgotten area, consisting of 12 planets. It is highly possible that one of the high rankers among 'them' is hiding there and going by the activity in these 12 planets, he is not very active."
" We are 90% sure that he is that 'blood clan' ancestor that escaped during the war and is currently in hibernation/dormant state. If we can reach him before he wakes up, it would be rather easy to kill him. But if we move our forces now, it might alert the other factions and even the 'Resistance'. And then this whole thing would become political and if the 'Resistance' got a sniff of this, they will try their best to wake him up and things would become complicated" said a pale man while kneeling.
In this rather dark room, there were only these two people, one of them kneeling on the ground while reporting to his superior.
The peculiar thing was that the person kneeling belonged to a rather violent race 'Drow'. He was dark-skinned with some purple hue, he had medium white hair, long pointed ears and blood red eyes. This was a rare and powerful race and its people were known for being fearless and never bowing down to others. (see the irony)
" Hmm hire the mercenaries and adventures to investigate, do not use any forces with a direct link to us for now. Try to locate him first and report if anything pops up, but be discreet about all this" said the person sitting on the chair, his face along with his body hidden by some unique wriggly shadows.
"Yes my lord, I will do as you direct"

In a small, barren area in the 'blood clan' territory :
Some people(vampires) were circling an elder, they all looked tense as if any moment could be their last.
"Clan leader (note that it is not the literal 'blood clan' leader, blood faction has many independent clans inside) are you sure this move of ours will work, we have risked too much to get this information and now we have assigned this most important job to a child, Dave. And if we fail and blood faction's main clans got info that we hid such crucial information from them, we would not be spared and they might eliminate our whole clan"
"Do you think I don't know that, but you should be aware that the faction is constantly persecuting our clan? And our only hope of survival is the 'Resistance'. But they are a closed group and to earn their trust we have to wake that ancestor and with him, we can enter the Resistance" said their leader while trying to ease their tension.
"But leader why would that ancestor help us after waking up, for him, we would just be hindrances after that," said someone from the crowd.
"You don't have to worry about that, I have arranged for someone to help Dave. That person is the prodigy from another faction and I had to pay a huge sum to get his help. He would not only help Dave in waking that ancestor but would also bind our clan's fate with that ancestor. Then our clan's survival would be ensured " said the leader with a small grin on his face.
The crowd was amazed by their leader's confidence and then began discussing among themselves.
(to avoid any confusion I will use the term 'blood faction' from now on as the faction itself has many small and large clans within)
