Chereads / Loving The Mysterious Alpha / Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

AUDREY'S POV

I opened my eyes oblivious of what was going on. What happened to me?. I tried to focus on objects but it was all blurry. I could hear the beeping monitors and I had an oxygen mask on. I could make out the figured of nurses attending to me. I was numb all over. My throat hurts like crazy and I was scared. Am I going to die?.

"Her BP is rising!!" A nurse shouted.

I slipped into unconsciousness again.

LUCIAN'S POV

(48 hours later....)

"Clary." I sped down the empty road as I converse with her.

"Sup bro. I missed your call." She sounded tired.

"You alright?"

"Nope. Your guest deprived me of quality sleep last night."

She's awake.

"How is she?"

"Not good. She's so frightened and she's one hell of a headache. Since she woke up, the guards have been complaining. She caused a ruckus throughout the night. I feel very bad for her. She's been begging to let her out. The coughs are worse too."

"Is she eating?"

"Nope. I hope she's strong enough for what's coming but where the hell are you?"

"Bangkok."

"WHAT!! Bang... When are you coming back?. You guys just let me alone with her. Is this not the time we all are meant to be here. Mom who was advocating for this is in Netherland for an art exhibition. She is really pissed.

"I won't be back until Friday. Mom will be back a day before. What about Leila?"

"Her shoot was rescheduled. She travelled this morning." She answered exasperated. "I'm the unlucky one."

"I love you. You know." I grinned.

"Fuck off. I hate you. I hope the family is sorted. I have enough on my plate already."

"Yeah. I did that before I travelled."

"Ok. Bye and if you don't want your head out of your body, you'd better come back on Friday." She hung up.

Soon, I was nearing my destination.

AUDREY'S POV.

Scared. Restless. Sick.

I crawled to a corner in this dark cell. I dug my nails into my arms as I wrapped them around my legs. My heart was pounding and I could hear rustling at the far end of the cell and my breath quickened. Why am I here? I don't remember offending anyone. Do I even go out?. What's my offense? Why am I being kept here? Who are these people?. Thousand questions ran through my mind with absolutely no one to answer them. Mom is probably worried sick about me and Patrick is calling anyone he knows that can help. My friends... My heart clenched in pain. I can't even imagine what situation they are in. I have phobia for dark places and this place is pitch black. I heard the rustling again and I tensed up.

"It's probably a rat. Calm down Aud." I took deep breaths. I don't even know what day it is talkless of the time of the day. I went into another fit of coughs and it has become worse. My chest was on fire and my throat hurts so so bad. I can't even swallow. The blood has become much and it's probably a puddle in my eyes. I fought back the tears at the back of my throat. My body aches and my head pounds. I prayed to anyone, whoever it is up there to save me. At this rate, I'll probably going to die.

The cage rattles and it was the hefty guard. The one that brings me food that I don't even eat. An idea dropped in my mind and I thought, It's now or never.

"Excuse me?!" I said in a small voice.

LUCIAN'S POV

She escaped.

"How on earth did a mundane outsmart you!" My voice thundered and rang through the large hall. I paced trying to calm my nerves down as Bleidd and his men stood with their heads bowed. This girl has given me enough stress and she just slipped out of their fingers. I'm so tired. I haven't gotten a wink of sleep since I got back, now this!.

Mom's worried sick. Wrinkles visible on her face as she paced. She's probably thinking about the repercussions if a member of the park finds her.

"When was the last time you guys saw her?" I said in a low voice.

"Last night. She was shocked to see the 'Leila Armani' and now she's gone. She's going to tell the whole world that I am the one who kidnapped her."

She was concerned about her reputation.

"And you said she was not eating?" I faced Clary.

"Yep. Not even a bite, She only drank water. Smart girl."

I calculated it in my head.

"She couldn't have gone far. She's weak, tired and sick. Plus, she still has XP so she's probably hiding somewhere till night falls or collapsed somewhere." I faced the guards."The least you can do now is look for her, keep an eye on her and keep me updated. Her scent will still be strong. Don't bring her back. Just make sure she doesn't meet anyone. I'll handle the rest."

I instructed and removed the cuffs on my sleeve. They bowed slightly and dashed off.

"I was planning on turning her on the full moon. It won't be so painful but I don't think she's going to last until then." I was about to leave when Mom pulled me back.

"Will you be okay? I know you hate it when mundanes get turned but..."

"Glad you're just remembering about that now but do I have a choice? It's too late. Lives are at stake and you don't have to worry, I'll be the one to living with the guilt. The only thing you can do now is start packing. There's no turning back because immediately I turn her, the elders and pack will find out and I will be dethroned. I guess your threat is finally coming true. Edgar might be the next Alpha." I walked away.

AUDREY'S POV.

What on earth was I thinking?

The sun was scorching hot. My skin is so red and it was itchy but I have to keep going. I was thirsty, hungry and tired. My throat hurts so bad and the cough drains my energy each time. The hospital gown I was wearing was blood-stained and torn beyond recognition. I looked so unkempt. They would have noticed that I have escape by now but what was weird is that I haven't seen a soul chase after me. Maybe the universe is on my side. After walking for another 30 minutes, I stopped dead in my tracks. I looked around. Why does it seem like I've been going around in circles, I keep ending back in the same place. My skin was so hot and the rashes were visible.

"It was useless running away." I heard a masculine voice and I turned sharply to the voice and standing behind me was a mysterious man who was so beautiful. He was neatly dressed and his scent was intoxicating. His dark hair was so black and styled. One could get lost in his dark eyes.

"Wh-who are y-you?" I stuttered.

He gave a lopsided smile.

"Is that really important?. It was useless escaping because you can't leave here without my permission."

"Why??" I frowned. Who on earth does he think he is.

Instead, he laughed and looked down.

"You must have noticed by now that you've been going around in circles. Welcome to my territory."

He looked up slowly and I choked on my breath. His black eyes had turned purple.
