Someone aimed a gun right in her arm, and the bullet pierced right through the skin. Everyone screamed, and before they even know it, the security searched up the mountains to find the culprit. Prince stood up from his kneeling, retrieved something underneath the ring box.
Avery couldn't react for a while. Her arm has gone numb. Purposely, they shot her left arm. She moved her right hand over to her thigh, retrieved the caliber, and held the left arm close to her cerulean dress. Avery unlocked the caliber right away, and aimed it at Prince's forehead.
Simultaneous with his action was the dagger Prince was holding. He placed it close to her neck, threatening to slit it anytime.
Both of them were all lovey-dovey earlier, but then, sudden changes turned the atmosphere into a chaos.
Avery had a fair share of people around the banquet. It's the Marriage Proposal.
They both glared into each other's eyes.
"So you're planning it all along, Mr. Prince Gomez?" she asked. Avery grunted in pain. One look of Prince in the air meant her death. She had to think of a counterattack.
"So you know what I had planned for you, Ms. Avery De Leon," he retorted. Avery doesn't know what game he wanted to play. They're here at the banquet to get engaged, but it's not a simple engagement. It's a blood engagement of bullets and daggers. Avery thanked her intelligent mind catching it up that quickly.
Avery snickered, asking, "Did you forget what history we held, Prince?"
"Of course, I do know, that's why I'm holding you on a deathbed, right?"
"You're a prosecutor charging the defendants their law-breaking sins yet you're like one of them," Avery pointed out. Prince took a step forward, digging the tip of her knife a little under his jaw. Avery didn't even squeal out. She must be used to having knife bruises and bullet wounds.
"You're a lawyer but pointing a gun to me meant you possessed a firearm without license." Prince gritted his teeth. He's right. Avery doesn't have a choice but to train herself with gun shooting since she knew she'd be killed. Nothing's impossible nowadays.
"Don't turn your ruckus on me, Prince. I know your family, you know my family."
"That's why I'm here, trying to kill you."
"You plotted this with your father, right? I don't know why you wanted my blood to run out, but to inform you, Prince, I'm not like my father!"
"You carried his blood!" Prince shrieked. Both of them are still heated. What turned out to be a simple banquet behind him turned into a riot. Several fists flew in the air, tables turned, and the war has gone absurd. The hanging lights cracked, and a fire burned the edge of the stage.
Prince and Avery's comrades fought on each other.
Prince bellowed, "Your father is the one who brought that punishment to my dad! Who else would pay for his mistake?! It's you!"
Prince have known the plan was about to end in an accomplishment. He promised his dad he'd bring Avery De Leon's blood once she's dead. Nothing could change his mind right now. Prince wanted to dodge the gun aiming at his forehead, and slit her throat once and for all.
"Do you think I'm that hopeless when it comes to fight? Try me." Avery had summoned a devil inside Prince.
Prince held the dagger steadily, asking, "Do you want to get killed by me?"
"Try me, Prince." Avery stepped back, readying to pull the trigger, but Prince's fingers was fast. He rotated the knife in his hand, cling it into the trigger of the gun, and punched Avery's abdomen. She pulled the trigger unknowingly, and the bullet landed from somewhere else.
The fire behind the stage was getting bigger. Still, the people fight. Avery staggered back for a while, losing her weapon, and the blood trickled out of her bullet wound.
She still has strength. Avery believed she can beat Prince out of this.
"Let's remove our weapons, and fight back with fists." Prince threw his coat off as Avery stood there with her dress showing a bit too much skin. She still looked hot, but what could attract Prince out of Avery's flawless skin when she carried the bloodline of the most loathed person existing in this world?
"Get me." Avery positioned herself. Prince ran forward, but Avery smacked his face right away. Her fist was too hard, like a male was inside her body. Prince didn't even wince, knocking over her legs, but she swung right, and landed her heel down to his arm.
He got flown back, but recovered fast and slapped her cheeks, head-butting her, too. Avery didn't seem to get dizzy with what he have done and pushed him away. Avery clasped onto his tie, rotated it around his neck, but Prince used it to his advantage. He held onto her waist, squeezing it tight, and cupped her buttocks.
Avery didn't get baffled by his touch. Instead, after tying the tie into a knot on his neck, she punched him on his abdomen, and pushed him down. He's a sneaky bastard. Prince grunted, surprise at how strong Avery can be for a female. Avery sighed, trying not to fall back on the lawn, and smelled the smoke.
The entire stage had engulfed in flames. It reflected the sweat draining out of her forehead.
Prince, who was on the ground, suffering from an injury in his temple due to Avery's heels, hissed right away.
Avery mumbled, "Get me if you still can."
Both of them were bleeding badly. Prince's eyes glared at her, and use that adrenaline rush to stand up. He blocked her view of the fire, hissing, "You're strong enough to topple me over, Avery. But you weren't too fast to catch up with this…"
"What…"
Prince pulled out a gun on the side of his coat. He shot her right on her abdomen.
Avery felt the bullet penetrating right to her stomach. She coughed up right away. The blood spattered on the ground. Avery took a step back, holding her abdomen with her right arm, and lose any strength to look at Prince. She sucked her breath, biting her bottom lip, and gagged.
The pain was excruciating. Her feet have gone wobbly.
Prince froze his hand on midair. He pursed his lips tightly.
Avery knelt down, glaring at him, trembling in the cold.
Prince whispered, "Die. You don't deserve to live."
