Chapter 8 - Home Alone

Takumi's body felt cold, but his heart was much colder right now. The house is indeed quiet, but Takumi's heart is far more lonely.

Even in the end, Takumi couldn't rely on his own father when Takumi desperately needed a friend to pour out his heart. Takumi wanted to have someone to lean on and whom Takumi would rely on. Takumi needs someone to kill this torturous loneliness.

Takumi didn't know why he was complaining a lot lately. In fact, usually Takumi doesn't mind even though he lives alone in this spacious house. Takumi felt that this house had been crowded before.

Takumi didn't know why he was complaining a lot lately. In fact, usually Takumi doesn't mind even though he lives alone in this spacious house. Takumi felt that this house had been crowded before. However, Takumi couldn't remember who had made his house so crowded before this.

However, don't know why Takumi feels that his house is not what it used to be. The house was still dark without light, but it was much darker in his heart that seemed to have lost hope.

It's been so long and now he's not

able to stop the tears from flowing. No matter how much he tried, it was now in vain. Takumi had been trying hard all this time. Still Takumi is just a weak creature who is unable to stem the river of pain from his drooping eyes. He still needs affection at the age of only 15 years.

But, this feeling of loneliness really tortured him. Shortly after his mother died when Takumi was 7 years old, his father's attitude changed. His father prefers to keep himself busy with work so he doesn't care about Takumi and Yui anymore.

When Takumi looked back at his house, the reality hit him again. The house he lived in for 15 years was too luxurious and spacious. The house that Takumi lived in was too few people. The house was so quiet that even when Takumi turned on rock music at the loudest volume; the most deafening music, still not enough to melt the frozen ice that wrapped this house until it was too cold when Takumi came home. This house is too spacious for Takumi to live alone.

Takumi really misses his father and sister. Yui lives in a pretty strict girls' dorm and Takumi can't contact his sister at the moment. So, Takumi wanted to try contacting his father instead. Hopefully in the middle of the night like this, his father is still awake.

Takumi tried to dial his father's number, hoping he could hear the voice of the grown man who was the sole guardian for Takumi and Yui.

After several tries, it turns out his father just picked him up.

"What's wrong, Takumi-kun? Papa is busy."

Without further ado, the man on the other end of the phone immediately said that. Sounded very displeased when Takumi called.

'Am I bothering him? Am I like that? In his world, am I nothing more than a burden and a nuisance?' Takumi thought, pitifully.

Takumi took a deep breath. Trying to drive away the stupid thoughts that just escaped.

"Pa ... when will papa come home? A few weeks ago Yui Nee-chan came home just to get her clothes. It's been more than three months, Pa. Didn't papa promise to come home once a month? It's raining here now, Pa."

*Nee-chan = sister

Takumi spoke and realized that it was pouring rain outside. Luckily he was home. Takumi also hopes that his two friends will also arrive at their house.

"I'm busy and won't be home until the fall, Takumi-kun. Please understand!" Takumi's father immediately cut off his son's words.

Takumi knows that his father won't come home unless he finishes his work outside the city, that's normal.

However, why was Takumi stupidly still asking. Why is he still pinning his hopes on the only parent for him? Why did he still hope for something that would never return to the way it used to be? Why did he still hope that his father would pay attention to Takumi like he used to?

Takumi started blaming himself for all of this. Takumi hates himself. Hate fragile souls that hang on to the wrong people. Although ... even though his father was the only one he had now. Even though he is Takumi's own father.

"Pa, is papa ...."

"Papa! Papa! Look, Mikki got a hundred at school. What will Papa give Mikki a gift? A toy car? Or ...."

Takumi heard a child's voice on the other end of the phone, Takumi stopped talking for a moment. Could he ....

"Mitsuki-kun, don't disturb papa! Papa is on the phone again. Come here! Just ask for the gift!"

Takumi also heard a woman's voice.

Takumi then heard his father's laughter for a moment and it seemed he was talking to the little boy who called himself 'Mikki' earlier. However, the woman earlier called the child 'Mitsuki'.

'Mitsuki's name became Mikki? Kheh! Disgusting!' Takumi grumbled inwardly. He seemed disapproved when his father spoke softly to the child, while his father seemed reluctant to speak to Takumi, who was clearly his own biological son.

"Let's play with your mama first, Mitsu-kun! Soon papa will catch up. Ok?"

When Takumi heard a father's gentle voice like that and it was not meant for Takumi, his heart became uncertain. Is it his father's new family at this time. Takumi was so shocked that it was hard for him to speak right now.

"Wh...w-who...they?"

"If there's nothing important, papa's phone is closed. Papa is busy and will come home when you are on vacation."
