"Am here," Al said as he sat down.
"Good, we were discussing how we cannot let her spend the rest of her life with you. Therefore we need to come up with a new plan." Austin said as they started brainstorming.
While they discussed a new plan, Scarlet went to Jules's room and told her what was happening. Jules took the opportunity to tell Scarlet what Al told her last night.
"Are you sure you like Al's plan?" Scarlet asked her
"Yeah, at least I won't spend the rest of my life with him."
"Good, then I think we should go and tell them," Scarlet suggested.
"Are you sure?"
"Am positive, They will listen." Scarlet smiled as she lead the way to the living room.
"Gentlemen we have something to say." Scarlet drew their attention.
"What's it, darling?" Old Grey asked.
"Jules has something to say," Scarlet said while nodding at Jules.
"Okay,"
"So I think we should listen to Al's plan," Jules suggested
"He has a plan?" Austin asked.
"Yeah, he doesn't want to get married so if he's doing this then I think he has a way out. I don't think he wants to waste the rest of his life with me." Scarlet stared emotionlessly into his eyes.
"Spill it out." Austin looked at him.
"Okay, ....hmm" he cleared his throat and continued.
"We will sign a one-year contract for the marriage. After one year the marriage will be dissolved."
"What?" Austin was shocked by his idea.
"Am not done. During the marriage, we can lead our separate lives. All we will be doing is going to public events together." Al concluded.
"What are you going to gain from this?" Austin asked the first question that popped into his mind.
"Why does everybody think I will gain something from it?" Al enquired.
"We've known each other since we were babies. You think I don't know that you don't do anything without a benefit. And in this case talking about money."
"We are sorry to surprise you but I've changed. I will never use her for my personal gain." Al said with a serious face.
"I doubt that. You are willing to marry her and give her money after the marriage is dissolved and you will gain nothing. I don't believe you."
"I will never do that, Austin." He emphasized.
"Well apart from the fact that he doesn't want to tell us why he's doing this in the first place, I think his plan is a good idea," Austin said.
"At least that way you guys don't spend the rest of your lives together," Austin concluded.
"Do you agree with this, Jules?" He asked her.
"I've thought of it throughout the night. And I think it's a good idea too." Jules agreed.
"I don't agree with this," Louis said out of the blue.
"I won't let you waste a year of your life with him." He said and left the place for his study.
"I will go talk to him," Jules said as she followed him there.
"Problem solved left with putting a ring on the finger to avoid any misleading from those reporters," Scarlet said.
"I've got a ring," Al replied and everyone in the living room stared at him.
"What? .... She's supposed to have a ring on the finger to signify we are engaged to be married. So I got one yesterday on my way home after the press conference. I will propose to her." Al concluded
"What are you going to gain from this?" Austin asked again cause of the enthusiasm on his face.
"Why do you keep on asking that question." Al enquired.
"Cause even if it's a contract, she will be pissed if she gets to know you are using her for your personal gain," Austin said.
"But she can't leave either." Al smiled.
"She can. I will be the one to draft the contract, right? I will state it perfectly. If the second party finds out she's being used for the first party's personal gains she is free to leave and she will still receive every money stated in the contract." Austin smiled.
"So that's what you've planned. Are you my lawyer or hers?" Al asked.
"In this case am hear for both of you but mainly her."
"If that's the case then I will hide the secret well." Al smiled.
"It's only a year, I've hidden way more secrets for more time spans." Al laughed.
"Let's hope she manages to convince your dad." Old Grey chipped in.
"She will. He has a soft spot for her. In fact, he has a soft spot for everyone apart from me." Al smiled bitterly.
