Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: That seemed true

"I don't agree with the plan," Louis said to her.

"You've cared about me more than my father ever did. You've shown me kindness and called me your daughter when no one did. So I can't sit down and do nothing when I can help you solve one problem. I will do anything even if it's my last breath to show appreciation for the kindness you've shown me." Jules said almost in a whisper. Louis then took a deep breath.

"I would have allowed you if that not part of your last moments. I can't have to spend one year of it with that ungrateful animal." Louis said.

"He's your son. Plus, I will still have you guys around." Jules smiled.

"I have 6 years. Not many people in this situation are blessed with this much time. Let me use this one opportunity to do something to help you. Then we can have fun with the rest of the time you have." Jules smiled and kissed his cheeks.

"I have some conditions. If he agrees to them I will give my consent." Louis said.

"Okay, then we should go and tell them our conditions," Jules said as he pulled him to the living room.

"Okay, so Uncle said he will agree on a few conditions," Jules announced

"So let him announce them and let's see if we can agree to them," Austin said.

"Condition number one, after marriage, you will stay here. No moving out of the house."

"You have it," Al said.

"Second one, if you hurt her either emotionally or physically, the contract is off."

"Okay."

"Third one, if you cheat on her and I find out the contract is off."

"You find out?" Al asked.

"Yeah, if I find out. Because she won't tell me if you do so, I will have to find I find out myself."

"I see." Al nodded and smiled mischievously.

"Austin don't forget to add all I've said to the contract," Louis warned.

"I will be done as per your wish," Austin said.

"Okay, so now that all is settled we have a wedding to plan and a proposal to make." Scarlet clapped her hands happily.

Just then Al stood up, walked towards Jules, took the ring from his pocket, and knelt on one knee.

"Miss. Jules MacCalister, soon to be Mrs Jules Leblanc. Today, I kneel in front of you with the whole family as witnesses as I proclaim my love for you. They say we spend our lifetime searching for that one person to spend our life with." He cleared his throat and continued.

"I will like to tell the whole world today that you are that one person that was created for me. I am sincerely asking you, Miss. McCallister. Will you be my wife? Will you agree to stand with me through thick and thin and love me forever?"

Jules looked into his eyes and smiled faintly. He then took her finger and placed the ring on it and stood up.

"Wooow... That seemed true." Scarlet whispered.

"You know when you said you will propose I didn't expect you to do it," Austin said.

Jules adjusted the ring on her finger, sat down, and took a deep breath. He got her for a moment there. It almost seemed true to her.

"When will the wedding be held.?" Scarlet asked.

"Three weeks," Al answered.

"I will organize it," Scarlet announced.

"It shouldn't be anything fancy," Al warned.

"Of course and since it's a contract marriage it will be better if we get the judge so that you register the marriage instead of a priest. Since it's a lie...." Scarlet suggested.
