Chapter 1 - Prologue

The twilight glittered in the sky as the bellows of fire echoed through the surrounding landscape. The exquisite temple, which was claimed to be a generational beauty and worthy of being called one of the world's marvels, was reduced to ruins.

"Regin, what are you doing?! You will not be forgiven!" On her knees, the ancient shaman sobbed. Her body was covered in bruises, yet her wrinkled face was filled with rage. Her beautiful linen had been ripped to shreds and resembled a rag. The man in front of her surged through and struck her in the face with his large brown foot.

-KWAUCK-

She was sent flying with a kick that resembled passing a ball.

-GBAM!-

Her body slammed onto the ground, throwing her back against the wall and causing a web-like crack in it.

-step-

-step-

-step-

As the steps drew closer to her, a voice said,

"Our tribe has listened to you and your predecessors' foolish squabble for thousands of years." Monarch of the Moon? We have stood for it, fought for it, killed ourselves for it, bent rules for it, but thank goodness I realized this was just your way of putting a leash on our neck while those vermin and whatever roamed freely within this world. We eliminated ourselves from history to preserve the world's equilibrium. Mani, the god of the moon, gave us the great commission?. I am not a follower of a god who rules over a white ball in the sky. I shall deliver reality to you, Shalhalla ".. As he came to a halt directly in front of her, his deep voice reverberated across the atmosphere of the strewn and ruined altar area. "Where is that mother and the child?" he questioned, bending down and lifting her head by the jaw with his rough, bloody hands, sneering in her face.

-cough-

-cough-

As she coughed, she spewed forth blood.

"Why should you care... if you don't believe the prophecy?  You're terrified. -kikikikie - You're terrified that he'll take everything from you"

-WHAM!-

He slapped her on the face. Her face swung in that direction, and she spewed out blood from her mouth. As she neared the end of her endurance, her eyelids slowly closed. He rose to his feet, his manly eyes searing with rage as his dark eyeballs heaved as he scowled at the old woman on the ground.

"I'm going to kill you, and I'm going to find the boy and his mother and kill them as well."

His shadow on the wall suddenly grew taller.

-crack-

-crack-

-crack-

-crack-

The hands became larger, his torso tore out of his garments, and a dogged face started tearing out of his face, all accompanied by a cracking sound.

-SQUELCH-

"AHHHHHHH!!"

The old lady let out a loud cry as the shadow on the wall bent down.

....

She didn't look back, and she didn't cease while the growling and sharp delicate footsteps, complemented by the rustle of dry leaves, pursued her.

She pants as she raced with an infant in her arms. The baby kept staring at her, her expression indicating that she was in distress. Blood dripped from her as she fled, but she kept going. She was determined to save her son's life. What she wished for was a miracle. She fell to the ground, being carried away in her confusion, and not realizing it was a downhill, she rolled down, with her baby held tightly within her grip. She finally stopped when she reached the flat surface. As the werewolves landed on the hill and stared at her, the ground trembled. Their golden eyes glowed in the dawn's phantom gloom.

"Mani!! Despite the fact that I am human! I've spent my entire life serving you! I stayed with the Vladar tribe to prove myself a worthy ally and to keep their secret! I've climbed his bed and given birth to his child, but he's trying to get rid of us. He refers to us as a blunder that should never have existed! I don't want your sympathy, nor do I want your vengeance, Mani, but just this once, please!!!! SAVE ME!!! " She screamed in a loud voice. The werewolves marched down the hill after observing her on the slope. Their furs swayed in the mild breeze. One had grey fur with huge black patches behind its hindlimb near its tail. Another had brown fur, while the remaining two had more grey than white fur. They snarled at the lady, around her, their fangs grinding.

While the werewolves surrounded them, the boy's gaze was fixed on his mother. As her strength diminished, she gradually let go of her baby.

The werewolves surged in for the kill.

-THUDD!!!-

A massive pillar of light dropped over the woman's body, scattering the werewolves who had jumped into range into specks of dust. The brown-furred werewolf on the verge of jumping whimpered as it was blasted away by the impact of the light. As the light vanished, the werewolf carefully rose to its feet and approached the woman with caution. It sniffed her and paused for a while, realizing the baby had disappeared. It then let out a howl into the air.
