Chapter 39 - Master Kans

In one of the houses in the luxury district of Solmare. A dark-skinned and white-haired man was sunbathing on the rooftop. In front of him is a swimming pool with five cheerful women playing.

The man sat lying down, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the breeze from the fan blowing by one of the women standing next to him.

Another man, sitting on his knees not far from the sunbathing man. The man looked serious with a dark face and sharp eyes.

"What are you saying? I think I just heard a joke."

Said the man who was sitting in the chair, glancing squintly at his subordinates who came to report.

"Cray and his bandits have been exterminated. Our spies in the military have confirmed it. Cray's head is already in military hands."

Crash!

The man who was sunbathing broke the glass containing alcohol in his hand. The veins on his forehead immediately popped out, he turned to his subordinates and asked in a sinister tone.

"Then, what about the product?!"

gulp.

The subordinate swallowed his saliva before replying, "It is unknown at this time. I've already sent someone to investigate Cray's base."

"Any info about the person who killed Cray?"

"There isn't any. For some reason, the identity of the person or group that raided Cray's base was hidden by the higher-ups of Solmare. Only military captain and certain people know about it. Ah, including Jabbar."

"Jabbar?"

The subordinate nodded, "Yes, Master Kans, it turns out that Cray caught Jabbar too."

Hearing this, the person named Kans immediately frowned.

"Is there a chance that the Midsun were the ones carrying out the attack? In order to save their boss…"

"That possibility is quite high, sir."

Kans closed his eyes, trying to suppress his annoyance and anger. What happened was really bad.

The product in Cray's hands is important to Seven's! If they don't receive the product by the promised time, Seven might be angry with him!

'This is bad, if Seven finds out about this mess, I could die!'

Why the hell did Cray even catch Jabbar in the middle of an important job like this?! Has he gone mad?

'This is why bandits never thrive! Fu*k!'

If it's the people from Midsun who attacked, that means there's a possibility that the old man took the product as well. The old man was still a merchant, seeing a little elf of course he also wanted to have it.

"Send people to monitor Midsun. See if they have our product or not? Then send people to the black market. Find out if our products are sold there! Hurry up! I don't want our buyers to know about this matter!"

"Immediately, sir."

The man rushed off to carry out the order. Meanwhile, Kans, who is currently in a bad mood, got up from his chair. He told the women who were playing to get away before he finally entered the house himself.

As he entered, one of his servants approached.

"Young Master, Madam asks you to see her now."

"Mother? What else does she want this time?"

Elsewhere, Jabbar's residence.

Three days had passed since Rosalina and Jabbar parted ways at the city gates. During those three days, she chose to walk around enjoying the views of Solmare with Metis.

Taste the city's specialties and also watch the evening show which is usually held in the town square.

She became a tourist for three whole days, and now it was time for Rosalina to get back into business.

Rosalina entered Jabbar's residence alone. Leaving Metis at the inn, forbidding her to wander around without her.

Rosalina wanted to take her. But Theo warned that the eyes of the Black Horns could be watching the movement in Midsun. This is because Jabbar is one of the survivors in Cray's base with a special status.

For Theo, if the Black Horns realized that Metis had now disappeared, then one of the suspects who had a high chance to steal it is Jabbar. Of course the figure of the savior and raider was also a suspect, but for now Theo thought they would have difficulty getting information about Rosalina.

So keeping an eye on Jabbar was the most logical step.

Therefore, if Rosalina came and brought Metis. The chance of getting caught by the enemy became much riskier.

Rosalina was led into the living room by one of the maids. Told to wait while the housemaid calls Jabbar.

As soon as she entered, Rosalina felt that the atmosphere in the house was very tense. The faces of the workers in the house were dark and gloomy.

Without even needing to be told, Rosalina could guess the reason the atmosphere was created. It must have something to do with the action of Jabbar's son who is working with Cray.

From the scene she saw in the mansion, it seemed that this one family problem was not over yet. This has an impact on the work atmosphere of the employees.

It didn't take long for the waiter to return, followed by Jabbar who was walking behind her.

Rosalina stood up to greet the old man and shook his hand before finally sitting back down.

Jabbar's face was so tired with the bags under his eyes that instead of disappearing, they got thicker.

Even his thin body from being held captive by the bandits still didn't show any growth.

Instead of looking better, Rosalina felt that Jabbar was actually getting worse.

'A son who is willing to blackmail and killing his own father . . . to think I'd see a fictional plot in front of my own eyes.'

[Not just fiction. Incidents like this do happen in reality. Many past royal histories record it.]

'Damn, can I get some privacy? Even in my own mind!'

Jabbar sat down and relaxed his body on the chair, he then started the conversation. He first apologized for showing his tired self.

Beyond his expectations, Jabbar did not expect that his family problems would be this bad. Currently, the Midsun company has begun to split into two faction, of course the majority are still under the auspices of Jabbar.

But the small part that his son controlled was known to initiate contact with the black market. If this really happened, Midsun's name would be tarnished.

Jabbar really did not understand what his son was thinking.

"Let's end this talk about my family. Too embarrassing. Let's talk as fellow traders. So, what business are you doing here, Miss?"

Rosalina raised a smile, "I want to sell you something."

"If I'm not mistaken, you're from Altira, I think I'll get some pretty valuable sap and thread. In the last few weeks, the supply from Altira has been pretty low."

Jabbar said with a small laugh. Reminds Rosalina that the reason for the supply interruption was probably due to the Cray bandit gang.

"Well, I brought those two things. But there is something else I would like to offer."

"Hmm?"

Rosalina put a small wooden box on the table.

"Are you interested in pepper?"
