Suzanne returned home with Joss, who scolded her in from of their mother. Their second brother had left early in the morning for important work in a nearby town.
"Why did you never tell us about it? Don't you think we all deserved to know about our father's journal? You handed it over to a prince, who hates our father," Joss bellowed at Suzanne.
"Because I promised my father. Father didn't think you and second brother deserved to know the truth. I wanted to tell Mother later," Suzanne pronounced.
"You are ruining our father's reputation. Mother, I told you to marry her off early. She will become the reason for our doom," Joss muttered.
"Shut up, Joss. Who are you to decide my life?" Suzanne furiously asked him.
"Suzanne, have you forgotten your mannerism? I never taught you all these things. Apologize to your brother," Mrs. Barnard scolded her daughter. However, Suzanne got more annoyed because of this and she left the house.
