The next morning, Derek and I left together for the office, Tony left early in the morning and Derek has been quiet since then.
"I'm just saying, he could've said bye to me before he left," we have been having this conversation for the past 10 minutes, not because I'm in the least concerned with Tony but because only this can hold Derek's attention to respond. The rest of the topics are way too monotonous or useless for him to talk about.
"He could've but as I said the past 7 times, you were fast asleep on your bed. I doubt if an earthquake would've been able to wake you up." I lock my arms with him as we start climbing up the stairs.
"Yeah, why would I? I was dreaming of a woman sitting atop a footwear pyramid. What did you dream of?" I nudge his arm slightly with my nail.
"You," he replies absentmindedly.
"Me? What about me?" I hold his arm tighter.
