"Tonyyy!! How ya doin?" Randy smiled, shambling over to him.
"I went inside for 10 fucking minutes Randy. WHY ARE THERE ELEVEN DEAD BODIES ON THE STREET?!" He snapped at her. Randy looked past him to see Cypher nudging one of them with her boot.
"Twelve actually, there's one kinda over there," she stated while pointing to the dead woman, Lasso had tried to rescue. Next to her body there was a dusty old cowboy hat, splattered with blood. "Actually there might be thirteen, I don't know man." Randy shrugged while staring at the hat.
"So tell me what happened here." Tony demanded.
"Oh you knowww some guy didn't like your game so he tried to rescue a girl in one of the pits but then the crowd got pissed. So that typically leads to guns blazin'," she explained while motioning to all the bodies on the ground.
"What did he look like?" Tony asked. Randy thought hard before simply shrugging.
"Can't remember," she admitted. Tony stared at her in disbelief.
"What do you mean you can't remember? Didn't you just fucking see him?" He growled. He could never stand this drunk.
"I can't remember, I just remember he was a little bit on the smaller side, like 5'6 or 5'7. That's about it."
"Oh for Christ's sake," he grumbled, taking a deep breath before talking again. "Do you at least know how he got in?" Tony asked her.
"Oh he hopped the wall, and your watch guys just let him," she grinned, catching a glimpse of the two men that came down from the watch towers. They froze and stared as Tony's gaze turned from Randy to them.
Before the two could even blink, they fell back in a spray of blood. Tony put the pistol back in Cypher's gun holster.
"14 and 15," Randy muttered to herself as she turned back to Tony.
"You better get all this cleaned up, you hear me?" Tony demanded before turning to walk away. Cypher tapped a body with bullet holes torn through their chest and legs. She nudged them with her foot and they began to twitch and move.
Cypher shuffled back quickly while Tony just grumbled and stomped down on their head until they stopped moving. Their skull crumbled under his heavy boot and out of anger he stomped a few more times before walking off again.
"Hi love," Randy smiled at Cypher who whipped around.
"Hi! I gotta go- ah- bye!" She rambled before taking off back towards Tony.
"Dork," Randy chuckled, shaking her head while walking towards the cowboy hat that lay near the gate. She picked it up and dusted it off before putting it on herself and began her search to go find Lasso.
She walked around town, bribing a few people to clean up the bloody mess of the shootout. Randy wandered aimlessly, calling out his name but never getting an answer. She stumbled here and there. As she walked she could feel the effects of the alcohol slowly wearing off, and a headache started. Her eyes were beginning to hurt and she sighed and shielded them. Randy was starting to get tired from walking but she stopped behind one of the food storages. She listened and heard a sneeze in one of the containers.
Randy walked over to one of them and listened again. It sounded like someone was starting to have a hard time breathing and she opened the lid to the large container and found the cowboy.
The blaring afternoon sun hit his face as he realized he was found. He squinted and realized it was the drunk he had met earlier, wearing his hat. He took a deep breath of fresh air and looked up at her chuckling.
"Whatcha doin' curled up in the apple bin bud? Those a for the horses," Randy chuckled before offering him her hand. The way he just stared up at her almost reminded her of a kid that was found where he wasn't supposed to be. "Alright, come on out of there," she helped him out and gave him his hat back.
"...gracias." He muttered, looking at his hat for a moment, simply checking for holes. He ignored the blood on it and just put it back on.
Randy looked him up and down, noticing all the holes in his clothing now. "Why don't I find you some new clothes and I can introduce you to the one that runs this town. Does that sound good?" She asked and Lasso sighed and gave a swift nod. He felt torn between wanting to go back to Mama and staying to find out what other twisted things were happening here.
Randy led him out from behind the storage containers and grabbed her rifle on her walk back. He led her to an old house, reinforced by scrap metal like the rest of the town. She held the door open for him and he walked inside.
Lasso was hit with cold air which practically made him jump.
"Relax, Ret figured out how to get the AC running again, that's all it is," she reassured while patting his shoulder. "Go sit down and I'll find you something to change into," she told him before walking off.
Lasso looked around curiously. There was an old couch with a splintering coffee table in front of it. Some lamps dimly lit the living room and curtains covered the windows. The walls were bare and the smell of alcohol was heavy. He silently walked around, habitually walking on his toes to avoid making sound on the wooden floors. He ventured into the kitchen but was almost disappointed with how little there was. It was just a bare as the living room with some of the basic furniture. He saw the fridge and curiously went to it and opened it. To his surprise the light turned on and colder air hit his face. He closed it again and saw the light switch on the wall. Lasso went over and flicked it on. A light bulb in the ceiling illuminated the kitchen.
He felt a weird sense of reassurance that there was electricity. He hadn't seen it in years but whoever runs this town must have a generator somewhere.
"Oh come on Cy...you gotta have something," Randy muttered to herself while rummaging through a drawer in one of the bedrooms. Cypher's bedroom actually. Randy was trying to find something close to Lasso's size but it was difficult. Cypher was built a bit more muscular than he was but her clothes were going to be the closest Randy could get to his size. She snatched an old t shirt and looked at it. "Nope, that must've been Tony's old shirt, damn thief,"she tossed it on the bed and kept rummaging.
Eventually she found a t shirt and some old cargo pants that Lasso could wear. She also stole one of Cypher's belts, knowing the pants were going to be loose on the thin man. Randy walked back out and found Lasso in her kitchen.
"Hey bud, I found you some clothes. They might be a little big but it's the best I could find," she told him while handing them to him. She directed him to a bathroom so he could change. As he walked by her, she noticed him walking on his toes. "Odd..." she muttered to herself but went and sat on the couch.
Lasso changed out of his holed clothes and into the ones he is now borrowing. The shirt was fairly baggy and the pants barely stayed on him without the belt. Even with it they were still loose. He sighed and rolled the pants legs up a little bit before putting his shoes back on. He carried his clothes back out and stood in a doorway. Randy looked to be drifting off to sleep before shaking her head and sitting back up again, groaning from her head ache.
"Come sit bud, we'll go talk to Tony later, it's hot as hell," Randy yawned and Lasso awkwardly sat on the edge of the couch, farthest away from her. He stayed upright and alert as she was slouched and falling asleep. He assumed the alcohol wore off.
