"What is your name?" he asked first hoping to build a good relationship with her. the woman should be able to help him in the future, right? She must be a mother who . . . wait! He got kicked out of home by his mother, so . . . but there was no harm in trying, right?
"My name is Ye Miao," she replied respectfully.
He smiled and nodded. "You might know already but my name is Wen YanJun and I have been very lonely these days, I have barely spoken to a human."
The woman stood up and gave him a tight smile showing slight difficulty. "Do you wish to speak to Master Lu?" she asked him cautiously.
He smiled sadly and glanced down at his hands before raising his head slowing to meet her gaze. "Yes, please," he replied with a flat monotonous voice as he moved his gaze back to his hands.
Anyone would feel their heart melt seeing such an innocent-looking young man looking sad when she knew the reason but she knew better than to offend the boss in the name of helping anyone.
"I will tell the master immediately," she accepted his request and began walking to the door. She stopped at the door and looked back at him. With a bowed spine, he reached for his meal. "Master Wen," she called.
He raised his head slowly and met her eyes with his amber eyes now looking dull and wet, she swallowed remembering the boss' warning not to speak to him without his permission.
"Any man will become lonely in such a large home," she began. "He has a son too but that cannot ease the loneliness. He needs someone he loves and you just happened to be the person who can fill the void in his life.
"You could leave if you give him what he wants," the woman advised cautiously. She placed her hand over her lips with her eyes wide open. "I am sorry, you should forget that I ever said that."
YanJun leaned against the backrest of the chair. Alas, he found a woman who is not like his mother. He was unwilling to blame his girlfriend until he sees it for himself that she does not love him anymore after being together for more than two years.
A few minutes later, the door opened after a single knock and the owner of the house walked into the room and made himself comfortable on the sofa.
Yanjun shifted uncomfortably wondering if it will ever be possible to get used to his gaze. It held power not pride like many wealthy men he has seen. It was pure, raw power in those brown eyes that showed that whatever he had at that point was mined and dug by himself without help or assistance.
He subconsciously bit his lower lips but he never knew how hot it made the man in the suit feel. Mingyu did not hesitate to remove his suit jacket and unbutton the first two buttons of his shirt after he loosened his tie.
Yanjun's eyes were on the tie as he imagined how he could pull the end of the tie and choke this man to death to escape but looking at those arms, he was forced to end such a train of thoughts and cleared his throat.
Mingyu chuckled, he wondered how Yanjun was so easy to read even after spending so long in the entertainment industry that he knew a few facts about. He removed the tie to ease the young man totally of such thoughts. He was sure his guards would kill Yanjun brutally if he tries to kill him.
"You wanted to speak to me," Mingyu decided to break the heavy silence filled with killing intent.
"Yes, could you cut me some slacks?" Yanjun asked although that was far from what he spent the past few minutes rehearsing to say to please the man.
"Yes, if you deserve it," Mingyu replied immediately as he had expected something colder to come from those beautiful cherry lips.
"I have played the good boy role all week, don't I deserve a little reward?" he asked looking at the man as softly as he could trying to be as pleasing as he could but the glare in his eyes was impossible to hide.
The man chuckled softly with a nice hearty sound that would have been pure music in some other situation. "Come here," the man called to him with his hands wide open.
Yanjun began cursing this man. So many curses escaped his mind but none of them were bold enough to escape his lips. He remained seated. He could not play the pleasing young man role anymore.
"You don't want the reward, anymore?" Mingyu asked daring Yanjun to give up.
Yanjun swallowed and forced himself up like a robot, he walked to Mingyu and looked down at the man hoping the man looked less strong than he looked because he would have had the guts to throw a punch to that clean-shaven jaw.
"Sit down," Mingyu ordered patting his lap.
He looked away and scoffed. There was no way he was going to sit down.
"You won't give me a little fan service? I am your biggest fan," the man dared him.
He exhaled. The man actually made it easier for him. He sat down on the man's lap despite how much he wanted to dig a hole and bury himself inside. He remembered what that woman said about giving him what he wanted.
The man laughed as he pulled Yanjun into his embrace. Yanjun was shocked. "This is your reward for now. If you continue, I will give you what you want."
"Could I go around the house, I also need to go to the gym," Yanjun asked softly. He was scared to ask but he tried nonetheless. That was not easy at all. He was even sitting on the man's lap.
"Oh, there is a gym downstairs. You are free to go around but don't try going out. I have a few dogs and some large wild cats you might not be pleased to meet," the man warned after permitting him.
He wanted so badly to stand up and jump around like he was lucky enough to get a free ticket to his idol's concert. Well, this time, he got a ticket on his way out. The first ticket.
About the cats, he was too engrossed to get worried about them. If only he knew they . . .
