Chapter 3 - Bunga Tahi Ayam

The room temperature that was supposed to be normal felt like dropping a few celsius when the man in front of her looked sharply into her eyes. She should've felt pressure at that moment but rather the smile on her lips widened. Was it exaggerated if she said she loved the actual person more than the picture of him that was set as her phone's wallpaper right now.

"Okay Miss Amanda, your explanation?"

Instead of answering, she kept on blinking looking at his seductive eyes. His eyes kind of drew her in.

"Excuse me Miss Aman-, no, wait. I believe I heard a different name just now, Camille or something like that. So explain please, who are you and what did you do just now?" He didn't plan to eavesdrop but he heard inadvertently when he passed by the corridor.

"Aa!" Her lips formed an awkward smile. "Promise me there wouldn't be any disciplinary action if I tell the truth." She pulled the chair, moving herself more to the desk so that she could get a better view of his face before she put both of her palms under her chin.

He frowned. The wrinkles that appeared between his brows increased. "I'm being serious and please, flirting wouldn't work with me."

"Ah really? I am just mesmerising with God's creation." She leaned back to the chair. Even though she didn't find any mistake with her actions, she still needed to slow down or else he might run away again. But yes, for her, every beautiful creature that was created by God needed to be appreciated and for example, the man that was sitting here with her right now.

"Yes, I am not comfortable with that. If you didn't intend to explain, I guess we could stop this here." He let out a huge sigh. Girls nowadays were so daring in showing their thoughts and he was really not used to that.

"Are you always this searing?" She asked, slightly slanted her head. She didn't plan for that question but she couldn't throw away her habit of teasing people. Having a bubbly and cheerful character, she always looked bright and being honest was one of her specialties.

"Stop it." His low voice seeped through her ears and made her understand that he really meant it.

"Okay sir." She pursed her lips and continued, "So can I excuse myself?" She didn't plan to explain why she was there covering for Amanda, so if she could get out of this situation, that would be the best. Both of them will get into serious trouble if this cold ice man here decides to report it.

She stood up after receiving a nod from Alexander.

"Don't cover up for someone else again. I won't let it go next time." Alex's words stop Camille from opening the door. He knew what they were doing and he didn't want an explanation for that one but he for sure needed the explanation for being her instant fiancé.

She turned and fixed her eyes on Alexander who was now looking at the document on the desk.

"Camellia." She saw Alex raise his head after she told him her name but his expression changed, like he had something to say about that.

"Camellia?"

"Yes, that is my name. Make sure to remember it." She winked but only to receive a cold reaction.

She narrowed her eyes looking at Alexander that was now back to his documents. She knew this was not going to be easy and his character seemed to be like the type that was asking for a curse.

"Flower??" Again, he asked when one of her legs already stepped out the door.

"Huh?" Didn't understand that her brows furrowed.

"Camellia…" He stopped for a few seconds before raising his head looking at her, "is your name based on the flower?"

Instantly nodded, she smiled. "My mom love camellia so much, so she named me-"

"It didn't fit you." He cut her off when she was so excited to tell the story.

The smile that stayed there from the start she entered the room, vanished. Still trying to not make it obvious, she pursed her lips straight. "Really? Why?" A forced smile was formed to cover up her change of mood.

"Camellia symbolises love, longing and adoration but you…" He leaned to his chair, crossed his arms then continued, "I think 'bunga tahi ayam' fits you better." That was the name of the flower in Malay language, he learnt it from Ahmad, his colleague before and yes someone might get offended if they translated the meaning of the words directly.

"Google it, bunga, tahi, ayam." He said the words one by one. He didn't mean to be that rude, but his mood swings lately have had an effect on him and to add on, her flirtatious act seemed to push the wrong button on him. "You can go now." He gave a smile before signalling her with his hand asking her to get out of the room.

"Thank you sir!" She slammed the door.

Amanda that was staying outside this whole time was shocked with the sudden slam. "What happened?"

"Nothing." She linked her arm with Amanda and walked away from that room. "Bunga tahi ayam?" She was muttering the words so she wouldn't forget about them. "Wait, wait girl." She stopped immediately and took out her phone.

Focusing on spelling the words so it wouldn't be wrong, she entered.

"Lantana camara." She was confused, what did he mean by that. She then searched again, what is that flower symbolises for.

"Is there something wrong sis?" Amanda asked out of concern when she looked at Camille's mouth twitching from holding her anger. Looking at how she grabbed the phone, Amanda took it out from her hand right away and read the thing that was on the screen, "Generally associated with rigour, used in the preparation of flower essences as a medicinal for sexual dysfunction." She blinked in confusion, as she read but didn't understand any of it. What happened and why Camellia was so angry right now.

"Did he mean I have sexual dysfunction?" She looked up, feeling outrage.

"First relax sis, maybe he didn't mean it that way. Try looking up the translation." Amanda tried to cool her down.

Camellia took a deep breath before taking back the phone from Amanda, "Okay, so…" she typed the words once again in the translation page then the words that appeared widened her eyes.

Chicken's poop flower!
