"Sophie Camellia?" Alexander muttered the name by himself.
Last night, he couldn't ask for more since his dad suddenly staggered like he wanted to collapse. He did feel guilty but he just couldn't accept the fact that he was the one who was being forced to get into this nonsense arranged marriage.
His relationship with his dad started turning cold since their mom died. It was not because he had any hatred or grudge against him but they became distant for the reason Michael swarmed his time with work and didn't really care about them. So, the awkwardness between them widened and when he brought up the arranged marriage, he felt it was ridiculous. The father that only cared about his business suddenly asked his son that he left unattended to obey him, and the thing he asked was absurd. Alexander didn't feel the need to oblige.
Standing up, he took all his documents for his next class when his phone suddenly rang. The name of an old colleague appeared on the screen.
"Yes, bro."
"I checked the thing you asked and she actually flew back two weeks earlier than you."
His brows furrowed. He called Damian last night, asking him to get some details about Melinda. Yesterday, before the big argument with his dad, he saw the post of Raysha congratulating Melinda on her wedding. At that moment he could feel his heart dropped but, even with the pictures of her wedding, he still did not want to believe it until he heard it from her himself.
Why did she do that?
Why that man and not him?
There were a lot of questions on his mind.
"And the man?"
"Businessman. I heard his company sells pillows??" Damian himself was not sure, because when he asked around they also could not give the exact information about that man.
"Here?" He asked if the man was from the same country as both him and Melinda.
"Yes. Bro, to be honest I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier but I have seen her with that man before."
"Where?"
"Center court Mall."
The hallway leading to the hall seemed long. He felt betrayed. The woman that he loved and believed with whole heart was cheating on him. The sudden laugh from him made the students that were passing by there turned and looked at him in a strange way.
In a trice, a cold palm reached his forehead, "Are you sick?"
Camellia that came from his side, was seen tiptoes to reach his forehead. A beaming smile on her lips turned into pouting when he removed her hand.
Alexander didn't answer, he stared at her like an eagle eyeing its big catch in the sea.
Thinking that he was lost in thought, she snapped her fingers over his face and said, "Are you okay Mr. Fiancé?"
A huge sigh came out from him after the word fiancé, "You seem professional in this field?"
"Sorry?" Her brows were lifted in confusion.
"How many fiancés do you have by now Miss Camellia?"
She looked at her index finger before lifting it close to her nose, "One."
"Tcchh…" An instant response came with a smirk on his mouth. This girl was so unbelievable, the other day, she acted bubbly and flirty saying he was his fiancé then another day, she would become grumpy and cold, glaring at him up and down.
"What??" Seeing the annoyance on his face, she didn't even know what she did wrong.
"Just make sure to be faithful to your fiancé." He walked past her after finished saying those words.
"But…" She pointed at her face, "Me?" then pointed at him that already left her behind. Not really understanding the situation just now, she rushed towards him. "Did I do something wrong?" She caught her breath after successfully stopping his pace.
"You, flirting with any man when you have someone, is obviously wrong. Can't you see it?" He was in need to vent his anger for Melinda on someone. Then this girl that came uninvited in his life and was coquettish with him deserved to receive his rage, in Alexander's opinion clearly.
Her right brow slightly cocked as she didn't get the meaning of his words. "I don't get it. I didn't flirt with anyone."
"Oh really??" His lips smile mocking her words. "Whatever Miss Camellia, excuse me. I'm late for my class." He pushed her forehead with his finger slowly to push her aside.
Her unsatisfied heart made her pouting and crossed her arms in the middle of the hallway looking at him that was walking away from her. After she saw him enter the lecture hall, she turned and thought of going to the toilet. Her tummy had been weird since earlier but when she saw Alexander walk past her a while ago, she decided to go after.
"Miss Camellia right?" Ralf approached from the back. He listened to their whole conversation and now he knew that there was no such thing as engagement between Alexander and her.
"Ah yes." She stepped back a little as he was too close to her. "Why?"
"Oh.." He reached into his jeans, "this, your lip balm." He brought the lip balm everywhere he went and Alexander's warning only stopped him from approaching her before. After making sure about them, he didn't think he needed to stop anymore.
Camellia had a suspicious look in her eyes, "My lip balm?"
"Yes, you forgot to take it back after applying it at the café a few days ago." He smiled. A smile that didn't look pleasant in Camellia's eyes.
The lip balm was the same brand that she always used and she did lose one but because she had a few spare at home. She didn't care much about losing it.
As he kept waiting for her to take the lip balm from his hand, she felt uncomfortable to let him wait and took it from him, "Thank you." She quickly put the lip balm in her sling bag.
Awkward and scare seeing no one was there as the location was a little bit hidden, she was ready to excuse herself before he reached for her hand. "Actually, I have other things to say."
She tried to remove the grip that was holding tight on her arm. "Excuse me, you can talk but please, no touching."
"Why did you do this to me?" Ralf moved closer instead of letting go of her hand.
"Hello, excuse me…" She panicked and straightened her hand to not let him come near her.
"Don't you love me?"
"No! I don't know you!" She didn't have any memory of this man in front of her right now. He was about 175cm and thin with tan skin. His type of face was hard to forget because of the acne so it was impossible for her to not remember him.
"You always smile at me before. Doesn't that mean you like me?"
She gulped, speechless with what she had heard just now. Closing her eyes for a second, she cursed at herself. She loves to smile and if she meets eyes with someone, her lips would automatically form a smile. She didn't know that this would be troublesome for her one day.
"I'm sorry if this creates a misunderstanding on your side, but no. I didn't mean something like that when I smiled at you. It's just a form of courtesy." She tried her best to explain but she saw how his eyes changed when she said the word courtesy.
"Then can I kiss you as a form of courtesy??"
