Yun Shu was unable to calm down.
After all, this was the first time that she was going to meet her in-laws. After listening to her mother and grandmother's reminder earlier, Yun Shu could not stop worrying that she might make a mistake.
It was said that a mother-in-law can be a woman's greatest enemy.
If she made a mistake during this first meeting, there was a great chance that her mother-in-law was going to make things difficult for her.
On their way to Qi Zheng's house, the man briefed her about his family.
His father was a businessman and his mother was a housewife.
According to Qi Zheng, his parents were easy to get along with. The person he was worried about the most was his grandpa, a retired soldier.

Yun Shu listened to his words carefully. She did not forget to remind herself to behave.
After a while, the car finally entered a housing area.
Her eyes widened as Qi Zheng drove into the area.
A few of her wealthy customers lived around this housing area. Seeing that Qi Zheng was driving into the area, made her wonder about his identity.
She had thought that he was someone from a humble background, that his family might be the same as hers. However, it seemed that she was wrong.
The people who could afford a house around this area should not be any ordinary family.
Yun Shu could not stop glancing at Qi Zheng and wondered about the person she had married.
The vehicle finally pulled over in front of the house.
Yun Shu stared at the building with a dazed look on her face.
"What's wrong?" Qi Zheng asked.
"This is your parents' house?"
"Uh-huh." Qi Zheng nodded. "Is there something wrong with it?
Yun Shu shook her head. An awkward smile curled on her lips.
From her interaction with the ladies from the upper class, Yun Shu knew that some of them could be quite hard to get along with.
Yun Shu had watched a few of her clients argue with the mother just because their partner was not from the same social circle as theirs. A few of them ended up breaking up a few weeks before their big days.
What if Qi Zheng's parents look down on her as well?
"It will be alright," Qi Zheng assured her. "I promise you that my parents are not going to make things difficult for you. Come on. Let's go and meet them."
Yun Shu watched as Qi Zheng alighted from his vehicle. Then, she took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
The two of them walked over to the house with Qi Zheng carrying the gifts for his elders.
An Auntie opened the door as they arrived. She greeted Qi Zheng politely before giving Yun Shu a lookover. Their gazes met and the elder woman flashed Yun Shu an amiable smile.
"Auntie Yu, where is my mother?"
"Madam is in the kitchen, "Auntie Yu said.
Knowing that Qi Zheng was going to bring a lady back to their house, Feng Jia Li decided to prepare a feast. She wanted to ensure that everything will be perfect.
Qi Zheng nodded. Before he could ask about his father and grandfather, a familiar silhouette was seen walking in their direction. Qi Zheng glanced at Yun Shu before putting on a smile. "Mom."
Feng Jia Li was not interested in her son. The moment she walked over, her eyes were glued to the young lady beside her son.
Initially, she was worried to meet the woman that her son had chosen to marry. But her first impression of Yun Shu was quite good.
She seemed clean and polite.
Meanwhile, Yun Shu felt her body stiffen when she heard the way Qi Zheng had addressed this elder woman.
This is... her mother-in-law?
She did not look as fierce as she had imagined.
"Qi Zheng, are you not going to introduce this lady to me?" Feng Jia Li turned to her son and smiled. From the corner of her eyes, Feng Jia Li continued to observe Yun Shu quietly.
With a smooth movement, Qi Zheng stretched his arms and held Yun Shu's hand in his.
His sudden movement startled her. She stared at their intertwined hands and thought about pulling her hand off him. But then, Yun Shu recalled that they both had agreed to some contact in front of their elders.
In front of the elders, they have to act like a newlywed couple.
"Yun Shu, this is my mom. Mom, this is Yun Shu, my wife." The words came out of his mouth smoothly.
Yun Shu looked at Feng Jia Li shyly and smiled. Then, she just followed the way Qi Zheng had addressed his mother. "Mom."
The smile on Feng Jia Li's lips widened. Seeing that the wife that her son had picked did not have an arrogant air around her made her happy. Her gaze stopped at the couple's intertwined hands briefly
Although she was still not happy that her son had chosen to get a marriage certificate without informing the family first, Feng Jia Li had a good impression of this daughter-in-law.
"Your name is Yun Shu?" Feng Jia Li ignored her son and walked over to the girl.
"Yes."
"Qi Zheng, I didn't expect that you would bring home such a pretty girl."
Yun Shu's face turned slightly red upon hearing her mother-in-law's praise.
"Welcome to the family. Qi Zheng had already told us that the two of you have gotten a marriage certificate yesterday," Feng Jia Li said. She reached for Yun Shu's hand and patted it gently. "Just relax. Since you are a family, this is also your house."
A breath of relief escaped her.
Yun Shu was glad about Qi Zheng's mother's warm welcome. At least, the scene that she had imagined earlier did not happen.
"Mom, where are my father and grandfather?"
"The two of them should be in your father's study," Feng Jia Li said. She looked at her son and continued, "You should go and call them. They have been waiting for your return for a long time now." Then, she turned to Yun Shu and spoke, "Yun Shu, come with me and let's chat a little bit."
Yun Shu exchanged a glance with Qi Zheng. Seeing him nod, she then turned to Feng Jia Li and smiled. "Alright."
