Chapter 13 - Marriage Discussion

Yun Shu took her car and drive back to her place to pick up her household registration. When she came out again, Yun Shu could not help but wonder if she was really going to get married just like this.

Everything had happened too suddenly and she was still in a process of understanding what she was about to do.

Fortunately, her mother was still at work and her grandmother was still busy hanging out with her friends. Therefore, no one came forward to convince her that she was about to do something crazy.

When Yun Shu came out of the house with her household register in hand, the man was already waiting for her in his car.

Earlier, Yun Shu had suggested meeting at the Civil Affairs Bureau. However, the man had told her that he would follow her car and they should head over to the bureau together as there are still a few things that they needed to discuss as well.

Seeing how he was waiting for her, Yun Shu began to wonder if he was trying to prevent her from running away.

As if sensing that someone was looking at him, QI Zheng turned and met Yun Shu's gaze. He stepped to a side and helped to open the door. "Come in."

His deep and magnetic voice might have lured her to get into the car.

Yun Shu was aware that she shouldn't be tempted to go with a stranger. When she was still a young girl, her mother would often remind her not to follow someone she did not know.

But it seemed that she had forgotten her mother's reminder.

Yun Shu slid into the back passenger's seat and watched as Qi Zheng sit down beside her.

"An Yu, let's go to the bureau now," Qi Zheng spoke.

Feng An Yu looked at his cousin through the rear mirror with a complicated look on his face. However, seeing the stubborn look on QI Zheng's face let him know that there was nothing he could do or say that will change his mind.

Qi Zheng has gone crazy!

After being urged to get married, the man had finally lost his mind!

With those thoughts, Feng An Yu continued to drive heading to the Civil Affairs Bureau.

"That is my cousin, Feng An Yu," Qi Zheng said to Yun Shu.

Yun Shu looked at the rear mirror and her eyes met briefly with Feng An Yu. The two of them did not say a word but instead, greeted each other with a nod.

"That's right. It seemed that we are not properly introduced to each other." Qi Zheng stretched his hand for a handshake. "My name is Qi Zheng."

Yun Shu shook his hand absentmindedly. "Yun Shu."

Feng An Yu who was driving the car could not help but thought that the conversation between the couple was too strange.

Were they really going to get a marriage certificate soon?

He suddenly wondered if Qi Zheng had pulled a prank on him and that there would be a lot of cameras to capture the stupid look on his face.

"Miss Yun, before we begin, there are a few matters that we needed to discuss," Qi Zheng said. "This marriage is to stop both of our elders from setting another blind date and urge us to get married."

"I know." Yun Shu's expression turned serious. She also knew that the reason she was doing this was that she was tired of hearing her grandmother urging her to get married.

"I won't let you suffer any loss," Qi Zheng said.

It was at this time that Yun Shu recalled something important. "Before we proceed, there is something else that I need to tell you."

"What?"

"I am not one of the participants at the blind date events," Yun Shu blurted out.

Feng An Yu, who was eavesdropping on their conversation stepped on the brake pedal. The car stopped with a screech, causing both Yun Shu and Qi Zheng to lurch forward. Fortunately, they were both wearing seatbelts. Otherwise, they might hurt themselves from this little accident.

Realizing what he had done, Feng An Yu let out a cough and spoke, "Sorry. A cat is crossing the road." He composed himself and continued to drive.

Qi Zheng turned to Yun Shu again and spoke, "Continue."

"I am actually a wedding consultant of Precious Moment Agency. We were the ones who organized the blind date events," Yun Shu said. "If you think that this is inappropriate, it was not too late to turn around."

"It's fine," Qi Zheng spoke with a nonchalant tone. "You have a job to support yourself. I think this is good enough."

Was it really alright?

Yun Shu's expression shifted. She really did not think that Qi Zheng would not mind this misunderstanding.

Since he had joined the blind date event, Yun Shu could tell that he should come from a reputable family as well. With her background, she did not think that it was suitable for her to marry him.

But it seemed that this man was desperate enough to get his elders to get off his back.

"I don't have many requirements for the other side," Qi Zheng continued. "Just as long as we both know our boundaries, it should be enough. To protect me and you, I will ask a trusted friend to draft a contract between us. Miss Yun, I hope that you would not mind this."

"I don't mind."

Yun Shu also thought that it would be better for them to have a contract. This way, they would know the roles and requirements they needed from each other.

"Then..." Qi Zheng trailed off as he seemed to be thinking of something. "Miss Yun, do you have any requirements for this marriage?"

Yun Shu thought of this question for a while and spoke, "I don't want my family or anyone else to know about this contractual marriage."

"Naturally." Qi Zheng nodded.

"I just needed you to act with me in front of my family members. I will do the same for you."

Yun Shu did not worry much about her grandmother. The person she worried about the most was her mother. Her mother would be sad if she knew that she chose to get married without knowing the man properly. Moreover, the number of times she had run into Qi Zheng could be counted with one hand!

"This one, I agree."

Yun Shu heaved a breath of relief upon hearing his answer. "Other than that, I hoped that we can both respect each other's life and personal space."

The two of them continued to discuss briefly their future life together until they reached the Civil Affairs Bureau.
