Chereads / The Triad Curse / Chapter 55 - United with Beta

Chapter 55 - United with Beta

I was explaining how succubi and incubi would always hunt Arianell. I told her that I would protect her no matter what. 'Till death do us apart was the last thing I said, and it sounded like a marriage proposal for her.

Well, I was going to marry her anyway, so I said,

"If you think so?"

"Yeah… "now she had her shy smile.

"Then it is, Anne. It can be a marriage proposal. I've been sure for all my life since the day I met you, that you're my Luna, bound by the Moon Goddess herself. So, a proposal can never be weird. Don't you think?"

She only smiled still with her shy look. I held her tight in my arms now and kissed her left temple.

"You're gonna make me regret this, aren't you? Cage me like this forever in your arms?" She had a weird way to say that she was happy. Well then, Anne. Let's be weird together. We were indeed one of a kind.

"Is there any other pleasant way to do it? I'm at my most heart content at the moment. My long-lost dream that I have been dreaming since I turned into a wolf when I was 10, is now finally animated real in the flesh in my arms. Do you know how long I've waited?" I asked a question that could be rhetorical. Still, she looked me in the eye so deeply saying that she knew and she felt my miseries before we ever met.

"No," she answered in a short line but she continued with the best line she said that I could hear the line over and over for the rest of my life," Then I'm the happiest Luna, Akrem Akhmedov."

We both held each other so tight like we would never let go.

"But I wanna know, how does it feel, how long, Krem?" she demanded the answer to my rhetorical question.

"It felt like forever, Anne."

She tilted her head above and meet my eyes. Her clear blue eyes said so many meanings while saying,

"You know that when it was like only around twelve to thirteen years since you were ten, and you said that it felt like forever? People said that is what you feel when you're in love. Only a short amount of time but the feeling was like forever to be separated from your loved one."

"Well, it is, Anne. It is. Obvious." I chuckled. Too bad I had to break our intimate conversation with the fact that we had to solve the case for the innocent man that was about to be sentenced to death. Thank Moon Goddess that iron would be joining us soon so I could find a way by brainstorming the possibilities with him.

"But, we still have some cases to solve. We'll have Iron sooner, right? We'll get the ideas on how to deal with the innocent man and we have to check Daniel's vessel as well. See if he remembers something or if he's acting normal like before the incubus and Centaur Abas were contained by him."

Hearing my lines, she drew herself and shot her serious look.

"You're right, it would be lovely to have Iron around. I'll check with Detective G as well if there's some kind of law that could cancel the death sentence. I'm planning to make a request letter saying that the death sentence doesn't suit the man's punishment. I can tell that since I'm an Empath and aim for the greater good, I have to give an example for others that revenge and vengeance aren't good ways to end bad things. And then later when they reduce the punishment to a lifetime in prison, we can look for proof to say the man is innocent. That should buy us more time, right? Knowing that he'll be waiting forever in prison in living conditions and that we'll help him to get out of prison? How's that sound, Krem?"

"That sounds brilliant, 'Anne! I dunno about the law here in Imperial Colony. I sure know that you know your city better with the law in it."

She winked.

***********************************

Iron had finally arrived in the Imperial Colony. I couldn't be happier that my wingman, my Beta was finally here.

After he landed, he asked us to check the perimeter where the murder of Arianell's father took place. It would take a long time.

But Thank Moon Goddess Arianell's letter of request to free the innocent man was granted. So now the man only had to get through a lifetime of prison which would buy us time to find more clues to release the innocent man.

"Where should we begin the search, Krem?" Iron stared at me sharply like he wanted to finish the job right away.

"I think it's better if you both start from the North, Iron. That was the place Daniel was supposed to find clues. I guess that he hid all the clues he found there to cover his tracks of murdering my father." Arianell furiously answered Iron's question for me.

Well, my Luna wasn't wrong. She was the one who knew all the investigation chronology. So when it came to which step needed to be taken right away, necessary and effective, she was the right person to give the decision. I was happy to have this kind of Luna on my team. Bright and beautiful.

Iron smiled while fixing his glasses on his dark Roman nose.

"As expected from a smart Luna, the future werewolf queen of Akhmedov." Iron ended his line with a big and wide smile. It was like seeing him hit the jackpot in Vegas.

My kind of smile was different, I showed my proud smile while saying,

"I'm proud of you, Anne. You'll be a fine queen."

She put both of her forefinger and middle finger on the sides of her nose holes, showing that she heard that like 1000 times. Three of us were laughing.

Still, there was one thing that I had in mind I hadn't told Iron,

"I wonder why you don't bring the whole pack, Iron? Our job will be done easily and faster if we bring them."

Iron flattened his facial expression and narrowed his eyes telling me that I was saying something absurd. Then he asked like he was pissed.

"Really?!"
