Chapter 13 - When a Woman Fell in Love.

Arianell.

I always had things with tall guys. Maybe because in the old days, dad would tell me the personalities of a tall guy could possess. Parts of judge saving from the first time an Empath saw a person. Start from the physique then go to the head. Heart, not so much to read because it was the most hidden thing a human could show. If he was in his right shape of most developed personality, the tall guys would be anything the world needs including being heroic, persistent, and protecting anything good.

And this lad beside Iron showed one qualification of the tall guys as the one that the world needed. He looked so young and boyish with his clean jaw and full lips. His eyebrows were beautifully thick and curved added the masculine line of his jaw. His straight nose added the kindness showed in his deep brown eyes' gaze. He was mysterious, yet lovely to see. All in all, if Daniel bled pheromones, this tall lad bled bubbles of pheromones. If any woman could see, like I had just seen, they'd completely fall for him.

I could sense his strong kindness and persistent principles. Those were things most stand out about him. I might fall, this might be love at the first sight until he smiled sincerely, and he had me at hello, just like that.

But I kept on hiding my being in awe because of his presence, when he shoved his hand to greet me with a wide smile showing two lines of perfect white teeth,

"Akrem…," he paused like he wanted to continue with something but he continued with" call me anything you like "he had that smile to die for, but I was disturbed by another meaning of his smile.

"Arianell, you can also call me anything, or just 'Nell', just like Iron usually call me" I didn't know why I repeated almost all of his line. They said this happened when you fell in love. You tend to mirror what your loved one said or did.

But I tried to hide my amazement.

"I see that Iron already told you much about me" I acted my coolness.

"Oh, nothing out of the ordinary, except… ah by the way, will you accept my deepest condolences. I'm really sorry about your dad," he held my right hand in his big right hand now added with the palm of his left hand. It was so warm and calming. I felt so safe, especially when his smile faded and turned into deep sadness expression.

I was speechless because I could feel his sorrow of being sympathy to my dad's death. He was so genuine. The perks of being an Empath, you could right away know what your opponent felt and for higher level of ability, you could read minds just like my dad. So, I accidentally opened my mouth a little bit. The change was from being suspicious of Iron's hidden agenda in introducing me to Akrem to completely being silent because I could feel the beauty behind Akrem's emotions. His was so deep and comforting.

He also looked like he was a noble one, like coming from a long line of royal families. If anyone would ever believe me, under his ordinary clothes of black t-shirt, jeans and jacket, I could see the nobility.

And what surprised me, I almost could see a blurry image of he moved his head closer to me and took in my slightly open mouth to his lips. Then I tried to focus on my consciousness.

It was like the time stood still that there was no one between him and I. I almost forgot that Iron was beside us until he falsely made a cough sound,

"Uhhuk… uhhuk…," then he whispered, "When the mates meet." Almost like swallowing his words.

[Wait, what?]

Then I felt like my sweet daydreaming was crushed by one final blow bombed by Iron. I just realized that Akrem…

"Are you…," I stopped then I continue," woof woof?" I made a bad joke.

I could see the sudden change in Akrem's expression like he became so serious and his eyes shot merciless gaze.

"Ya… I am. How did you know that? "But his question was more like hiding a sudden anger rather than really asking. Now his expression had become flat.

Then I forced my sweetest smile while saying, "Wolves travel in pack, don't they?"

I almost thought that after he saw me smiling then his expression softened while saying,

"Well, we're not traveling at the moment", then he showed his million dollars smile again.

[Can I pass out in your hot strong arms? It looked like they're bulky and hot.]

My mind shouted seeing the slight bulge of his biceps behind his jacket's sleeves.

"I'm really sorry for disturbing you, lovey-dovey loving at the first sight, but I gotta ask you, 'Nell. How was your dad's funeral? Have they found the killer yet?" Iron asked strictly to the point, just like what most expected of him as my best friend. And I was happy to be his friend.

"You read my mind! I was hoping you could help me. I could use a help of a superior canine troop, especially now there are two of them…" I smiled mischievously looking at both Iron and Akrem.

"When do we start? My lady…"Iron grinned from ear to ear.

"Yeah when do we start, Anne? I think I'm gonna call you that." He winked and smiled showing those flawless white teeth again.

[I think I have to bring my own mattress if he keeps on smiling like that. I might pass out million times.

Yup, this is love at first sight.]

Still I continued, "Right after the exams weeks. Dad's already died, and his corpse won't go anywhere," I might sound too harsh but I tried to make myself stronger, then there came the next line,

" We'd go there right after we're done with the last exam subject. In the meantime, we could gather the info provided by Daniel each week…" I hadn't finished my line when Akrem interrupted,

"Who's that?" I almost could sense a jealousy in his low tone.

While Iron just swallowed his smile knowing he sensed the same thing.

"He's an apprentice to a supernatural detective that handles dad's mysterious case. He promised to call me each week."

"Each week… Calling you? Can't he just e-mail the details?" Akrem was even more pushy than Iron. It was like he was the alpha in the pack. Now I was sure that Iron became the beta.

"We need to discuss, 'Krem. Tell you what, when he wants to call, I'll make sure the three of us can hear directly from him, so we can gather info and know exactly where to start to do investigation or even find the killer right away when we go to the Imperial Colony" I tried to calm Akrem down, it looked like he was about to burst out of a jealousy.

"That'll do." Akrem agreed without further question. Then Iron repeated his sentence like a beta obeyed the alpha,

"Yeah, that'll do."

"You sound like a Luna, Anne." Akrem continued.

"What do you mean by that?" I puzzled.

"It means that you're worth to be the alpha's queen" Iron completed Akrem's term. It was like they were speaking with one mind but with two separated different bodies. As it was most expected, they're the wolves in the pack, alpha and beta. They synchronized.

"How come? I'm not a wolf, I'm an Empath." But both Akrem and Iron shot a meaningful look to each other.

"Okay, now… Have you seen the schedule of the exams?" I tried to calm myself down from the excitement of working with this best canine troop, just to jump freely into another exam weeks excitement, then Akrem disturbed me with something that I hadn't thought about,

"Umm… Anne, have you cried?"

Then just like that, I burst into tears. Next thing I know I was in Akrem's big warm almost hot cuddle. Then Iron joined hugging us of whatever he could hug from the left of us.

But I could almost see the image of Akrem was trying to separate Iron from our cuddle. Iron was mischievously being the third wheel while letting out small chuckles, and Akrem frown his eyebrows telling iron not to disturb.

That was the most comforting sight that I've ever seen and known. Knowing though I was an orphan, I had my friends warmly welcoming me.
