Chapter 2 - A Funny Alpha?

Akrem.

I didn't know that Akhmedov werewolf clan's life was that exciting, so Dad laughed and held his stomach. Maybe I was too funny.

"But then again it means that you've read and knew our history, the werewolves' history by heart." Dad was back being serious.

"I wonder why Akhmedov has this kind of way." Dad could see that I looked puzzled.

"It's because we're unique and different. Though each clan is unique, but we're so distinctively different from others." dad was trying to ease me from my being puzzled.

"Go! My son. Explore the world and find the true meaning of being a werewolf. I know that your heart is free. So be free and find yourself. But you need to remember that Green Valley will always be your home. I know deep down one day, you would wanna stay here forever." Dad finally said his wisdom of thoughts.

"Rizvan Akhmedov, you really ARE my dad! You knew me better than anyone else!" I shouted excitingly.

"I'm the alpha and the head of the clan, I can do anything best for my descendants." dad continued his wisdom of words.

"Aye! Aye! Sir!" now I acted like a pirate.

"Now it's time for you to go outside to the world and find the true meaning of being Nasriantra alpha wolf." That was dad's last line before I went to the Main Land. Who ever thought it was the last line he had ever spoken to me face to face.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Akrem felt happy. For all his life he didn't know so much about his dad but only for observing what his dad did. He finally felt close to him. With that best memory of his dad, he went to the Main Land.

Exodus.

Claire was jumping here and there from hill to hill to the highest point in the Green Valley so she could see Akrem's ship clearly among the clouds in the blue sky. She reached the highest ground in the Green Valley just to make sure that his ship flew smoothly without any obstacle.

A strong wind brushed her red hair so contrast with the bright blue sky. Claire was the one who made sure that Akrem's ship was loaded with magic after Chaital had set the whole ship.

Rizvan, their dad, always hid the fact that both of Akrem's sisters had their own skill set of abilities. Chaital as the first daughter was very good with finance and technology, while Claire was great with magic. It was a different kind of way for werewolves to live their lives.

Only Akrem was left alone to be an old school werewolf because in the end, he had to pass down the history of the Akhmedov werewolves. He had to remember how their ancestors lived their lives until the recent Akhmedov clan's ways of life.

Rizvan already prepared and set Akrem for that duty, thus he made Akrem satisfied with anything he wanted to do, including running from everything. But in the end was to get back and be the best. You would never know how good you were if you were never tested and challenged yourself in the outside world.

That was how Rizvan prepared Akrem for that particular heavy burden.

It was one burden that couldn't be done by both of Akrem's sisters, Chaital and Claire, no matter how good they were in their fields of expertise.

As their dad, Rizvan Akhmedov always said, "This is the Akhmedov werewolves' way. We don't live in middle age anymore where we fight vampires and protect humans. Eat a lot and feed the clan, then live in some shabby huts. If it's Pizza hut then I guess I can still accept." The glorious Rizvan, the head of the clan sometimes cracked a joke as well. That was what made them different, the Akhmedov clan.

Claire meticulously paid attention to her brother's ship until it was gone in the sky as a dot that she couldn't see anymore. She was actually afraid that Akrem's ship would run out of magic and bring Akrem to the ground. So, she stood there on the highest point in the Green Valley to be ready to catch Akrem, in case what she was afraid of happened. She just didn't want her dad to lose his one and only son, also his one and only brother by direct blood.

The Main Land.

Akrem finally arrived in the Main Land. He set the autopilot for his flying ship with two giant sails to go back to the Green Valley. His older sister, Chaital, kept on monitoring the flying ship in case there were uninvited passengers such as big giant spiders or even vampires. She needed to make sure the ship went back to the Green Valley without containing additional troubles that could harm the lives of the werewolves in the Green Valley. It was to protect the lives of the Akhmedov clan.

It would be easier if the ship was just destroyed and Akrem would be picked by a new ship, but that would be even more trouble in Chaital's head. She would need to think harder to trade goods with other clans in other cities or villages outside of the Green Valley. And that was how Akhmedov werewolves lived their lives. Being smart in making good use of the resources provided in the Green Valley.

Just like what his dad said, Akrem could see that the life in the Main Land was a whole lot different from what he usually had in the Green Valley. The pace was amazingly fast. Unlike the calm and peaceful life in the Green Valley, people could be easily turned into monsters just by staying in the Main Land, a corrupted place, structurally soulless.

The Triad Curse.

Arriving in Main Land made me realize that I was so lucky to have the Triad – that was how I call them: Rizvan, Chaital and Claire. It was like I had my own guards and I felt safe all the time. Moreover, we're family by blood. I'd never feel lonely even though I was called as the lone wolf.

So, what happened next with the Triad Curse? Keep on reading the next chapter.
