Chapter 3 - CHAPTER II - Hot Tea

The girl in front of him was glaring at the boy with a serious face.

It looks a little scary. Arato complained. Seeing the girl who had laughed at him, "Like a hanging cocoon." She mocked. Arato growled. Unable to reply to any of the taunts, "Damn brat." He muttered. The boy's hair slightly touched the ground. He thought hard that, this rope, must not be an ordinary rope... He thought. They must have done something to this rope. Arato felt even more strange.

You seems right. Yamato said.

What's likely happening: The flow of blood flowing throughout the body is somehow moderate, being accelerated by the rope. It made Arato start to feel nauseous, slightly dizzy, and like he was about to pass out. Over the head, said Yamato. More precisely, below. Arato replied. He was tied to the position of 'Like a cocoon.' Squirming like a worm,

Then stop.

"Huh... dammit. Nice trap." Arato was so overwhelmed, only to untie the ropes around his ankles. "Of course..." The girl replied. "Because I'm the expert." She pointed to herself. Arato raised half an eyebrow. "Ah. Yeah." He quite agreed with those words.

The Old lady glanced at him,

His expression doubtful, "White Oni." She said. "Hm..." Arato was a little confused to answer, and also nauseous. "What's wrong Grandma?" The girl asked her Grandmother, before Arato could reply.

"!"

"Nothing." The Old lady replies to the girl. She walked forward, severing the rope with the knife that she carried.

ZAPpp!

After that,

DEP!

"Ouch!" Arato stroked his forehead. "You should be able to put me down slowly!" He complained. But the Old lady ignored his words, she gave out her hand to Arato. He looked up as he heard a scathing comment that passed through his ears. "Thank you. would be nice you cocoon!" The girl said. "Y-yyeah." Arato took the Old lady hand. "Grandma!" The girl turned to her Grandmother. "Next time I'll definitely catch, um. If not a rabbit, it's got to be a fox." The girl said. "Is this kid serious?" Arato glanced at her in surprise.

The Old lady just smiled softly at her granddaughter's words.

Arato was quite surprised,

More specifically, shock.

The girl's response was very out of sync with her face. "Why then!!" She growled at Arato. The girl, with red hair like fire, has a very sweet face, held a knife that seemed to be handmade. Are you serious? Yamato was a little surprised. "It is nothing." Arato replied. "Be grateful that we didn't make you our morning breakfast-" The girl said, but the Old lady cut her off. "All right. Mai." She sighed, asking for the girl to stop.

And just like that.

The red-haired girl was silent with a flushed face. Either out of shame, or anger. Arato wasn't so sure about his observations as a Profiler. It could be both according to Yamato, even with a point of view that is just guessing.

"Young man. May I offer you something-?"

"Ah that-." Arato wanted to decline the offer. "-As a token of apology... for my granddaughter's actions." The Old lady suddenly bowed to Arato. From that point of view, it seemed like it would be hard to resist. So, Yamato nudges, "Alright." Arato sighed. Although there was a slight change of plans, it seemed that he couldn't refuse the offer. The village and some important People can wait. Arato thought. The Old lady smiled softly at that. "Then. Come and follow us." She turned around. "The road to our hut goes this way." The three of them headed to the hut in the opposite direction of Arato's original goal.

The girl named Mai, still glancing at Arato from behind, her gaze sharpened more and more.

"So where is this hut?" Arato asked. "On the southwest side of the forest. Don't worry, it's not far." The Old lady replied. 'Don't worry, the journey isn't far.' As the Old lady said earlier, and that, Yuppppp, Yamato smirked in an even voice. The journey they took was about 10 kilometers, it wasn't close to walking on both feet, normally. "Phew! Seriously, but. Did you walk this far every day?" Arato asked curiously. "Not really. Well, because today is a very special day ... for Mai, and myself..." The Old lady replied. "So. We went this long way to get some fruit." She said it like she was remembering something deep. Sounds fun. Arato thought that with a smile.

Several minutes had passed.

He looked down, seeing his reflection almost completely covered in tree leaves. The direction of the shadow is still in the eastern corner. Old fashioned way to tell the time, but he checked his phone in a more modern way. The time shown on the phone screen is 10:00 AM. For about 62 minutes they walked toward the hut. The place they had talked about, the longer it went on, the more visible from the distance they walked. Arato approached a hut, "Woah, this hut looks older than my grandmother." He muttered. And the journey was so far! Yamato complained.

But the point is, he's right.

Mai passed Arato, "Come on in." She's sounded like was ordering a servant to follow her. "You..." Yamato suddenly appeared like a spark. "Little dictator!" He mocked. However, whether he was there or not, it didn't matter. No one can see him except Arato alone. "Geez." Arato mumbled. It's gonna will be a long day. That's what crossed his mind when Yamato was trying to pinch Mai a few times. Yamato's fingers pierced the girl's ear like a ghost, turning into a mist of blue fire.

"Ahhhh!! Damn it." Yamato shouted. He looked frustrated, and seemed like he was about to give up. Arato shook his head, signaling Yamato to stop. He nodded grimly, then disappeared again. "Hmmmm?" Mai looks confused. "Young man?" The Old lady called Arato. "Yes." Arato replied as politely as possible. He entered the hut, then sat under a mat that was made of wood. "Wait for a minute young man. I will prepare it first-" The Old lady said "Eh, mmm... Huh?" Arato was even more confused. Prepare for what? He wondered. The Old lady just smiled gently at him. He sits with Mai. The girl was playing with the fire stove in front of them. Arato turned his head, looking at the kettle that the Old lady had put earlier. The two of them waited for the water inside to boil while listening to the hissing sound of the river behind them. The hut was on the southwest side of the forest, a little near the river, 20 meters away. If the hut gets flooded during heavy rains, it's no surprise.

Arato heard something.

The sound of the water in the kettle started to make a noise, it seemed like the water are already boiling. He thought. The Old lady sat, more precisely on the right side of Mai. She poured water into the cup beneath Arato, then slowly brewed the tea. The aroma of the tea leaves spread throughout the room.

It smells very good.

It was hard for him to explain, but it smelled like honey and lavender, slightly mixed with mint leaves. The tea leaves seemed unusual, in the sense of the word, very odd. It was the first time he had smelled such a peculiar scented tea. That tea seems like an unusual rare item, Yamato commented. Arato completely agreed with his words. "Hmmmmm..." The boy gulped. Drooling in his mouth, he seemed ready to drink the tea, even when it was hot. Yup, this is bad, said Yamato. He knew something like tea could make Arato lose his mind, literally, lose it. Woah-woah-woah! Tea maniac. You haven't forgotten our goal, have you? Yamato shouted at Arato. The boy didn't hear him. The words were more like the sound of ants screaming, but didn't even reach the big elephant. "Please have a drink, young man." The Old lady slides the cup towards him. "Well!" Arato replied enthusiastically. Make Mai surprised with the reply, which is very strange. Mai thought about it. He seemed sarcastic enough to reply to Arato, if he asked her. Arato turned to Mai with a big smile, "Hey do you know what leaf this is?" Arato asked very curiously. Mai squinted, as if signaling him to, DON'T ASK!

The boy wasn't so stupid as to ignore the signal. He immediately avoided her gaze. Lucky enough, he can read the atmosphere, maybe it was a gift from his mother. "Please drink it, young man." The Old lady smiled gently, asking Arato to drink the tea politely. He drank it down to a few gulps, without even a doubt on his face.

"This tea... tastes a little weird!?" Arato said. "I feels-."
