Raizen entered the dimly lit den. Due to his nature as a vampire, he was very accustomed to darkness rather than night. But due to the nature of his body in the game, he didn't have any night vision.
He could only roughly make out the outlines of the cave and not any intricate details. There were some bones sprawled around the den.
As Raizen moved further into the den, he saw a shadow curled up in the centre of the den. As he moved towards the shadow, its ears pricked up and it immediately got up and growled at him.
It eyed Raizen with its big curious eyes. There was fear, confusion and wariness in its eyes. It was a wolf pup. As Raizen eyed past the pup, he could see three or four pups curled up in a corner, sleeping peacefully.
"Grooowwl" the pup growled angrily at Raizen. It seemed to threaten him to not look at his littermates.
Raizen let out a light chuckle and checked the stats of the pup.
[Grey wolf(Pup)
Level - 2
Health- 30/30
Attack power- 5
Defence- 7]
Raizen looked at the pup for some time.
"You are just level 2. Killing you won't give me any benefit. I will spare you. Hope you survive in this jungle alone" saying that he left the den.
The pup tilted its head in confusion, failing to understand what Raizen meant. It stared at Raizen back in suspicion and only withdrew its gaze after Raizen left.
Raizen smiled wryly while leaving the cave.
'Did I get some of humanity's hypocritical nature after living with them for so long?' Raizen wondered.
Just a few days back, he was wantonly massacring chickens. Even though they were weaker than him, at that time killing them was useful to him.
But now, he developed a huge heart and chose to spare a few weaker wolf pups. Why? Because killing them was not useful to him.
'What a hypocrite' Raizen thought, laughing in a self-deprecating manner. He knew the pups would not survive long. Maybe some wild animals would kill it or it may meet some players who will kill it.
Now, Raizen has become more interested in this game. This game let him experience some feelings he had not experienced in a long time.
'I wonder who created this wondrous creation? Are they human?' letting his thoughts wander, he gradually reached the Arcot village.
He went to a shop and sold all his spoils including the wolf teeth, pelt and daggers. He decided to learn the skill Fury as it may be useful in some situations.
Raizen logged out of the game and exited the VR capsule. Normal humans wouldn't feel any change, but Raizen's vampiric senses felt the air inside the game was better than the air in the outside world.
Raizen went towards the fridge and opened it. There were many cooking items and much miscellaneous stuff. Raizen liked to cook human food in his spare time.
He opened the freezer. There were drinks and packs of arranged red liquid. Raizen grabbed a beer and opened it. He took a packet of red liquid, which was blood and started mixing it with the beer.
After mixing an appropriate amount, Raizen kept the remaining blood in the fridge and started sipping his new drink, which was a mixture of blood and beer.
Raizen seemed to enjoy this strange combination. He operated his quantum watch with great familiarity as he opened the internet.
He searched about the classes he got, their strengths and weaknesses. Since this game interested him very much he decided to treat it a bit seriously.
According to the information he got, Battlemage is a Mage class that uses magic to strengthen its physical attributes.
Spear master is a warrior class that uses Spear for combat. It was a pretty basic class and didn't interest him much.
Ninja is an Assassin that uses magic to perform spells known as Ninjutsu. It was a pretty interesting class.
And lastly, the class that interested Raizen, Runemaster. It was a Mage class that used Runes to cast spells. It was a class with high potential and great room for growth.
He went into something called a forum where many people discussed many things regarding the game. They asked doubts, clarified other doubts, and voiced their opinions and all that stuff.
It was like a club where like-minded people who had the same interests could chat. The forum is separated into various chat rooms according to the topic of discussion.
There was a blacksmithing chat room where people discussed blacksmithing and a potion-making chat room where people discussed potions.
There were various types of chat rooms. There were even some weird chat groups that discussed which NPCs were the perfect waifu.
Raizen ignored all these weird chat rooms and entered a chat room called General news.
"Did you guys hear that Crimson King was defeated by someone in a beginner village"
"Yeah, the one who defeated him was someone named Zen"
"I heard it was a mysterious expert who was playing on a new account"
"He even defeated Crimson King while being lower level than him"
"He has to be an expert, Crimson King couldn't even land a hit on him"
'Oh, Isn't Crimson King the guy who was pestering me. They are talking about me?' Raizen thought curiously and sent a message.
"I am not an expert, I am a newbie"
"Who are you?" someone named Awesome Attracter asked.
"I am the one you guys are talking about". Raizen answered honestly.
"Anyway, as we were discussing about Crimson King…" they ignored Raizen and continued with their conversation.
Raizen was at a loss. Did they miss his message?
'Maybe they didn't believe me' he thought. He browsed through the chat group and many people were discussing rumours about the First National competition.
Raizen wasn't much concerned about it and started looking for chat groups about classes. He went to a section called posts.
He saw the top pinned post titled 'The best beginner classes' by someone named Groll.
