Adam drew the ring box out of his pocket, slightly pinched his dress pant up with his thumbs, rested his knee on the floor supporting the other one, and pulled the ring box at the front asking Stella, "Can you turn, Baby?"
"You want to mock looking into my eyes this time?"
"Stella, for once," Adam growled louder this time because he was exhausted begging for her attention. His voice startled her, and she curved at once, and the Karma hit Adam harder this time as the whole apartment dipped into the pit of darkness, "Ugghh, not again. Adam, are you okay? Just stay where you are. It will be back in a few minutes?" Stella continued to flap her hands in the air, trying to find Adam in the dark.
Adam was not born with golden or silver spoons but with a whole factory; that manufactured these spoons. But with the ongoing situation, the fire that lit Adam's heart with a tinge of love, care, and affection fumed those sentiments into ashes.
"I have suffered enough. I don't need a plan anymore. I will make her fall for me. Like an actual fall." Adam's numb face was hidden in darkness. He moved his hand and put the ring in his inner coat pocket, and the house brightened up, but he was still on his knees.
"Adam, w- why. I mean you dropped something?" Stella bent down toward him, and the hair she tucked behind her ears came at the front, covering her half face.
"Just look at this innocent face. She is playing so well with me. Now acting as if she cares with her puppy face. Bullshit." Adam gazed with his pupil still in one place, and got himself up from the floor and arched his back.
Stella first postured her back, then again inclined to brush off the dirt on his pant with her hand. "Tell me I will look for it. Just don't bend. Your suit looks so expensive." she scouted, cluelessly on the floor for the thing he dropped.
"You can't find it. It's too late." Adam's sounded shallow as he walked close to the pot where Stella mixed the tomato paste with the boiled pasta and said, "You mind if I order something for us?" Adam again looked in Stella's direction as she was still glancing on the floor.
" No, it's just ready." Stella's attention turned back to the pot on the stove. Adam picked up the empty tin can and read the label,
" Stella, it expired two days ago?" Adam had never eaten anything out of tin cans. Especially the expired ones.
" Try and tell me. You know nothing about these strategies. It's good for another 2 weeks. I assure you that." Stella laughed as she licked her lower lip and gazed up at his confused face.
Stella was done cooking the pasta. She turned to the other side to get the plates from the cabinet.
Adam took the opportunity, and grabbed the oil bottle, hiding it behind his back folding one hand.
Stella turned the stove off and served the pasta in two dishes. She offered a bite to Adam with her hand, " Here, taste it."
Adam couldn't pretend to care anymore for her. He wanted her to obey him and strive for his attention, but the odds were against him, "Yeah, Even Gordan Ramsay would be speechless."
"Is it pasta?" Adam confirmed again.
" Yes. You don't know because you only eat with all flowery, ingredients imported from all over the world. Isn't it?" Stella smirked and took a bite with the same fork. "Taste's okay to me."
Stella put the fork down and stepped close to him, just close enough that one step further could make them smash their bodies, she pressed her lips tightly and then let a sigh out and finally asked,
"Adam, you didn't say anything earlier. I am sorry for what I said. I need time to process things. You understand what I am trying to say." Stella always had a problem expressing herself but the recent breakup and the betrayal of her sister were hard for her to endure.
Adam was moved a little by her speech, he was the one who couldn't resist Stella. He rubbed his thumb on her lower lip which was swollen already. "Make me understand." Adam leaned forward and nuzzled near her cheek making Stella's heart flutter and said, "Talk to me. Tell me. Explain." Adam wanted one reason at that point not to go rouge on her. Just one reason.
" Adam this is all difficult for me. I have tried but it doesn't make sense to me. I can't help it. I do mean what I said earlier."
"That's it then. No blame on me. You have been flying so high it's time to land, Baby." Adam pulled Stella to his side, giving Stella no choice but to stay stamped to his chest. Stella pressed her eyes close and took long unsteady breaths.
Adam with the other hand poured the oil onto the floor just behind Stella and put the bottle back on the shelf. "Adam, I am sorry. I never intended to hurt you."
"It doesn't matter anymore, Baby girl." Adam could go to any lengths now to get her. He pulled himself back and purposely stormed out of the kitchen silently.
Stella liked him. She just couldn't express that to him because of her previous relationship that went downhill. As expected Stella followed him but she had just taken one step and she slipped right into his trap," OUCHH" Stella shouted.
Adam was just standing right next to the kitchen area waiting for her to fall, and it all operated according to his plan.
Adan ran back to the kitchen after a few seconds, "What was that voice?" His plan just worked perfectly as he found her helplessly lying on the floor, whining in pain.
Stella, carried herself a little up, rubbing her palm over her elbow, " Why can't you do anything properly? You are so careless. How can I leave you alone for a minute? Tell me?" Adam pretended to care for her more than anything else this time, but all of it was part of his dirty play. Because his feelings for her turned into aggression.
Adam picked Stella in his arm carefully, took her to the bedroom, and said, " I will call the doctor."
"No, I will be fine I know that. Growing up I had these drops so many times. But I don't remember placing the oil on that side of the shelf." Stella was trying to find a comfortable position for herself where her back would hurt less.
"You are an idiot," Adam said while texting someone on the phone.
"I can hear you," Stella mumbled under her groan.
Adam took the opportunity to show her affection. Adam propped her back with pillows and posed next to her on the bed.
" Don't worry, Baby I am here for you," Adam's voice was coated with honey this time. Because for now, he was relishing, watching her all vulnerable. She needed someone to take care of her, and Adam selected himself as the perfect candidate.
"Adam, you must have a lot of things to do. You can't just be here." Stella moaned in pain as she rested her head on the solid wood support on the back.
"Does that hurt a lot?" For a second, Adam felt guilty for the crime he committed just to get her attention.
"Adam," Stella tilted her head in his direction, and a smile grew wider on her face, "You are here and that does make me feel a lot better. Thank you, Adam." Stella placed her hand over his chest and rubbed her thumb several times.
"Mission accomplished. Sometimes people need to suffer to understand the value of comfort. You dimwit, I will make sure you suffer enough. You burned my self-esteem into ashes, and it's your turn." Adam thought to himself as he comforted her by curling his arm around her shoulder while planting a soft kiss on her head.
They both heard the footsteps, "They must be my people." said Adam. And the door opened with the face of a 26-year-old, Eric Wayne.
Eric never imagined finding the girl he dumped in the arms of his Boss, Adam Kingston. And now he had to call her Madam to keep the salary hovering in his pockets.

Well, I was seriously heartbroken because no one liked and followed. I would be really glad to all who add my book to their library to follow, comment and press that start button.
That would make me so happy because lately, I have been feeling so low.
So Thank you and take care.
