Chapter 5 - Is jumping off a bus a painful way to die?

"Adelia, please tell me why are we in this sweaty and jam-packed bus again?"

"To have a chance encounter with the male lead, idiot! Haven't you read mangas? The main character is late for school and then bumps into the meal lead! I'm trying so hard to develop the plot here and look at you, whining like a kid!"

Since they were in a very noisy and packed bus, using their mind connection wasn't required. it's not like anyone could hear their conversation between the countless others anyway.

"Uh, Adelia, both us and the male lead are stinking rich. The school is for rich kids. Do you think either of us should be here on the bus? He's probably sitting comfortably in his air-conditioned car somewhere!"

"..."

A look of regret appeared on her face. She endured all this for nothing. Ugh, it was all that stupid system's fault! Had he explained things clearly, this would've never happened!

Still, Laughing over the matter, she said cheerfully, "Oh...So what? Let's just enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience of being in a bus filled to the brim! We'll just have the chance encounter tomorrow, Haha."

"-And how do you plan to do that?" Willow asked skeptically.

He didn't know what would happen the next time he went along with whatever she said like this.

"Will, we're both wealthy, right? So what's a better way to meet than a car accident?"

"On a sunny day, two cars collided. With this union of cars, two hearts also got connected- That sounds so romantic!"

Willow suddenly had an urge to just jump off the bus and kill himself right there. At least a quick death will be better than the suffering he would have to endure if he lived any longer.

Miraculously, they somehow reached the school on time. After getting off the very full bus, Adelia first straightened her hair and skirt and then fished out her phone from the backpack. Willow also checked his phone since it was vibration quite a lot on the bus. Even though he knew his phone was ringing, there was no room for him to stretch his hand and get it out of his pocket.

Almost immediately, his phone started ringing like crazy and a bright callers id flashed on the screen. It was Robert Evans, their dad.

"Hello! Will! Are you alright? Why didn't you two take the car today? Imagine my surprise when your driver called saying you two didn't go with him-"

The speaker was still very much panicked. The previous vibrations were also due to his calls. Willow felt a little guilty for worrying him so much and apologized, "I'm sorry, dad. Adel here wanted to experience what it's like to be on a bus. Sorry for worrying you. Rest assured, we arrived safely so you don't need to worry."

"Oh..." The man on the other end released a breath of relief. "Thank god you two are safe."

Relief was evident in his voice as his nerves loosened up. It seems like the phone was on speaker as another person spoke somewhat carelessly, "See, didn't I tell you the kids would be alright? You don't need to worry so much. They're almost 16 after all...We ruined the mood for nothing. It was so good, darling. You, me, the kids are gone-"

"I'm still on the phone, Alex! Please control yourself in front of the kids at least!!!" A very embarrassed shout came from the call before it was hurriedly disconnected. Willow could almost see his dad's embarrassed face through the phone.

"Who was it, Will? Dad? He called me 7 times."

"First get your phone out of my face, Adel. And yes, It was dad. He was worried about us," Willow explained while slapping away her phone. A commotion seemed to be going on at the other end of the ground as a lot of people circled someone.

What was happening there? Curiously, Willow walked closer to see if a fight or something was going on. After all, this school was for kids who are born with a silver spoon in their mouth and don't even know what 'tolerating others' means. Each one has a level of arrogance bigger than their parent's bank accounts.

"Willow! No need to go there," He stopped to see Adelia leisurely walk up to him. "It's just the male lead halo."

"The male lead halo? What's that? I'm telling you, Adel, I think here's a fight of some sort-"

"Oh, please," Adelia scoffed. "It's not a fight. And why are you so enthusiastic about fights anyway? You're the bottom. They're delicate, pure, and innocent. And people like you-" Pointing a finger at him, she spoke firmly, "-Don't enjoy crude things like fights. Get in the role, will you?"

"Those are just the male lead's fan-girls. Haven't you seen animes? The male lead is crazily popular with countless female admirers. Tell me, if it were a fight or confrontation, why would there be only female students?"

Willow also thought that her logic made sense. Since he and the male lead's parade were walking towards the same building, they got a lot closer. Close enough to even hear their excited shrieks.

"KYAA! He's so handsome even in the morning!"

"Hold my purse. I think I'm going to die right here due to so much nosebleed so early in the morning."

"If being so attractive was a sin, male god Charlie would be the biggest sinner in the whole universe, ah!!!"
