A few hours passed before Samuel and Ulma both were summoned to the headmasters office, rather than walking there, a quick dimension gate portal was used by a highmaster to instantly bring them up to the outside of the office. The highmaster quickly knocked on the door and they were all received by the headmaster himself.
The evidence was put forth, Ulma had outdone herself with creating such a sound and memory copy spell. They were asked to tell their side of the story as well, just to be fair.
"Well, I think the evidence speaks for itself, with the confessions of some of the idiots and from the abused belonging to your own daughters team!" One of the higmasters spoke quickly and his voice filled with spite when mentioning confessions from idiots. "To think that we had such people allowed into this institution." Another highmaster agreed.
Vazal waved his hand to make them quiet before turning towards Trax who was Al's father. "I would very much like to hear your verdict and what you wish to do." They had left Samuel and Ulma inside the room, seemingly not caring about what they heard as they had been the ones defending the right thing.
Trax looked at Vazal with great respect and gave him a nod. "Al Genger should be expelled without question. The others we might consider giving a second chance, or else the first year candidates of this year will have lost almost 20% of the class in one day." The other highmasters clearly surprised at his words, it seemed like they would happily take those losses.
But they could only agree after thinking about it, what Trax said did make sense and if they disagreed they would dishonor his tough decision of already expelling his own son. After a few seconds of the others looking back and forth they nodded their heads in agreement.
"Well, I do believe we are finished speaking about all items on the agenda my gentlemages." The headmaster said with his draconic smile. "I would have you two stay a while longer however!" The headmaster pointed his finger at Samuel and Ulma as he was showing the Highmasters the door out.
Samuel who had started preparing to leave he instead decided to take a seat on a comfortable couch with Ulma next to him. The headmaster sighed the moment his door was closed and he heard the others walking away, he walked over and took a seat in front of them.
"Staying out of trouble and sight huh?" Vazal chuckled. "Is this the beginning of your many adventures filled with trouble?" He asked and relaxed back on the seat. Rather than sit behind his own desk he wasn't afraid of sitting in front of his guests on a sofa or chair across them. The nickname of the humble headmaster or easygoing archon came from his tendencies.
Even though in reality he was not someone to be trifled with, he looked at Samuel and Ulma both before he grinned. "I must thank you for helping out my daughter! I really appreciate it." He gave them a small bow. "Thank you for being there and saving her. You have helped my family from suffering a potential tragedy. If there is ever anything I can do to help you, then by all means do not be afraid to ask... although I cannot promise any guarantees depending on what exactly you ask for in advance."
"Thank you, Archon!" Samuel and Ulma both bowed their heads to him, certainly not anticipating those words. "We just did what we thought to be right to do!" Samuel said and Ulma continued. "But we did also do it so quickly because it was someone that we knew. We were simply lucky to be in the right place at the right time!"
Vazal nodded, the honesty was refreshing and showed them to actually be truly trustworthy. "Well if nothing else. I hope you will keep this whole thing down, but seeing the two of you I already feel you won't let me down. I hope the two of you will have a continued success."
The headmaster stood back up and walked to the door and held it open. "You must excuse me though, for I have work that needs doing. So please send my regards to my daughters from me!"
Samuel and Ulma not wanting to overstay both left and bid the headmaster farewell. Together they made their way back to their house. It was well into the evening at that point, and many more houses than normal were lit up from the first years that had moved into them.
There were also more people out and about, first years wanting to look around or just do whatever. Samuel muttered about it a few times which made Ulma poke his cheek and call him an old man that was grumpy about kids. Both of them shared in the laughter about that.
Before they entered their house Samuel coiled his arm around Ulma and dragged her in for a deep kiss that left her warm and stunned as she stared into his eyes, her own filled with surprise at first but then warmth. He gave her one of his amazing smiles that melted her heart and she pinched his cheeks at the same time.
"Silly! Im not going anywhere! So stop worrying." She had managed to read him like a book, his worried eyes and body language, she was not quite sure what had made him feel that way. But regardless she was there for him and she could see his face relax slightly as it was her turn to give him a several small pecks on his face.
Finally he shook his head and let go of unnecessary thoughts and they both entered the house together. To their surprise they had guests, Emma and her entire team. Sonya was seated holding on to Emma who was clutching onto her older sister. The rest of her team were all seated happily and talking with eachother.
When the door opened they all turned to it, Emma almost jumped out of her sisters arms and ran toward the two and threw herself into them. Clutching them tightly at the same time, Samuel and Ulma just stood there shocked for a few moments before they finally returned the embrace from the younger girl.
"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!" She yelled. "You have saved me from years of torment!" Emma suddenly started crying into them. Sonya saved them from further awkwardness and came and pried her sister away and made sure to embrace her again to give Sam and Ul some space.
Samuel had a small smirk on his face and Ulma had a dazzling face full of pride and happiness. "Don't mention it! You guys were simply lucky that we were around!" Samuel said without any intention of telling them that they had stalked from afar for a lot of the day.
"Well if its no big deal, you also helped out all these nice newcomers and you should definitely make food for all of us!" Erica exclaimed from the couches. "I hope you didn't mind that we invited them all into our home, we felt like they needed some friendly faces after the horrible experience!" She chuckled and all of Emma's teammates felt a small blush creeping up on their faces.
They had gone from a horrible experience with bad people, they all seemed to be used to dealing with bad people prior. But suddenly they had been saved by two heroes and their teammates had then later invited them in to share a meal and some nice talk,
They were infatuated with Emma's older sister, she was such a nice straightforward person that helped them all snap out of the horrible experience, the experience prior was all but forgotten at that point, they only remembered the good part about the people that had saved them.
Samuel sighed and realized he had to make the food, but he didn't audibly complain more than that and quickly went to make food for twice the number than he usually did. It took a fair bit of time, but late in the evening they all could enjoy a nice meal together as they talked the time away.
Sonya and Erica led them all back to their own house eventually.
But not before Emma and her teammates had promised to return the favor one day.
Samuel and Ulma were finally back home in their temporary college home. They looked at eachother and gave one another understanding eyes as they went to bed together. They decided on Ulma's room for once and they both lay down in an embrace. "What a first day huh?" Ulma whispered and Samuel nodded.
"I am just glad to have experienced the first of many days together with you!" He replied and Ulma kissed his forehead. They spent the rest of the time chatting away before they both finally ended up falling asleep.
Meanwhile somewhere in the Republic, Shadows were gathering with evil intention.
