Lara left the room and returned back but she wasn't alone. She came alongside another woman who was younger than her age.
"She is here, master." Lara said to the master as they both bowed at him.
"Right. You can go." The master said to no one in particular but he was referring to Lara.
"Me?" She asked the master.
"Yes, you. You can leave us now." The master said to Lara.
"You mean I can go?" Lara asked again as she shuttered with shaky eyes.
"Do you have problems with hearing?" The master asked her as he glanced at her.
"No master. Is it just that…I'm her nanny and she might need me." Lara tried to explain, hiding her nervousness as she scratched her head.
"Well she doesn't for now. When she needs now is a doctor. Please you may leave." The master.said to her as the doctor just stared at the floor, not g anything or chipping into their conversations.
"But…" Lara stammered.
"I say leave!" The master growled at her as he gave her that seducing look but something was off about his appearance. His face seemed to have scales with his ears getting hairy. His eyes changed color to red and his lips turned purple.
Tables shook at the sound of his angry voice. Lara immediately turned her back and ran off. She didn't want to make him.angry the more before something terrible happened.
Theaster took a deep breath in and everything went back to normal. Lifeless Lucy sneezed after he had just released his breath. The doctor looked at her and same with the master too.
"May I?" She asked the master as she stole a quick look at him.
"Do your job." He said to her and she nodded.
She carried the small box that she had come with and went towards the bed. She dropped it on the bedside table and felt the pulse of Lucy. The doctor opened her kit and took out a stethoscope. She placed the two pods in her ears while she placed the other part of Lucy's left chest to check her heartbeat rate.
The master was watching what she was doing. The doctor's countenance changed as she stopped moving her head.
"What's wrong?" The master asked the doctor as he saw how speechless she became.
"Do you know she is a mermaid?" Doctor Wong asked in a shaky voice as her eyes stared at the breathing gills of Lucy's right neck.
"A mermaid? How is that possible? I checked her feet already and they are perfectly human so…?" The master asked doctor Wong.
"She may not have a fish tail…but…" Doctor Wong started an unfinished statement as she paused to look at the master who was already staring at her.
She wanted to be sure of what she saw to avoid bringing the wrath of the master upon her.
"What are you implying doctor Wong?" The master asked her again as he looked directly into her face. Doctor Wong shifted Lucy's long hair from her neck, revealing the breathing gills to the master as she looked at him. He looked at her then looked at Lucy's neck.
"She had gills." Doctor Wong finished her statement in a shaky voice as she looked at the master. Helooked expressionless. He carefully moved her hair away from it and touched the gills. The doctor seemed to be slightly irritated by what he was doing.
He slanted a finger into one of the gills opening then put in his four fingers together. Lucy's breathing started to cease. It left them in shock but theaster didn't show it.
"You may leave. Don't say a word to anyone about this." The master said to doctor Wong after taking in some heavy breath.
"Yes master."
"If she doesn't get any better, I'll send for you." The master said to doctor Wong.
"That's okay. I don't think it'll be necessary for you to panic. The only concern you should be having is to make sure she doesn't show the gills to anyone, especially during the next blood moon that is coming up soon." Doctor Wong instructed the master.
"She won't be doing for it." The master said to her.
"Pardon? But…you'll have to introduce her to everyone and also perform the rituals with her." Doctor Wong said to the master.
"Why should I perform the rituals with her and why should I introduce her to anyone?" The master asked the doctor.
"Because she is your new mate…" Doctor Wong said to the master with some confidence in her voice.
"What mate? Who are you scheming as a doctor? That I called you in here to treat her and because you see me in a lady's room, is that a reason enough for you to say i slept with her?" The master asked doctor Wong as his anger seemed to start rising.
"No master. I'm sorry for speaking that way but that is not what I mean." Doctor Wong quickly apologized to the master on sensing he was beginning to get angry.
"Then what do you mean? The master asked her.
"Is that how you go about spreading rumors about me? So you are one of them now, right? Answer me…doctor Wong…hmm…white cloth is it? I'll soon dye it y red with your blood if you don't give me an answer right now!" The master growled at doctor Wong as he observed her dress color and stood up to scream into her face while she was also standing out of fear.
"No master…I don't do such a thing…what I was only trying to say is that you have marked her already as yours." Doctor Wong quickly let the words out of her mouth.
"I'm sorry master…" She apologized again. The master seemed to look confused and puzzled as he calmed down.
"Marked her? What do you mean by I have marked Hera's my own? I've known no woman so what do you mean by you hat you just said?" The master asked doctor Wong in a calm voice.
The master had never known a woman after a very long time. His powers and aura were too strong for a woman to handle, especially in his kingdom. He stopped looking for a mate after he was seventeen years of age when he had his last intercourse.
"On the neck…" Doctor Wong said as the master looked at Lucy. He went over to her as he tilted her sideways and checked her neck. Below her shoulders a little but we're two marks which looked like a bite by a creature with sharp teeth.
"Who did this?" The master asked as he began to fume with anger.
