Kai coughed, his whole body aching. He grabs tightly onto the orb, and tries getting up. But he didn't make it too far, when he felt a sharp pain piercing his spine. Kai cried out in pain, his visions blurry and felt like his whole inside would come through his mouth any minute. The scent of blood filled his nostrils, and he could feel the warm liquid slick against his body. His breathing became laboured, and his body weakened. The orb rolled from his head, and he heard Fong Woo laughing menacingly. He walked up to Kai, the sword in his hand had black magic surrounding the blade and blood dripping from the tip.
"Haha, you thought that you could beat me. I will get the orb and then pluck that aura from you." He stopped at Kai's head, and yanked his head back. A struggling cry escaped Kai's mouth. "How does it feel to lose?"
"I….I….w-wont…lo…" Kai struggles to speak, but his fingers never stop reaching for the orb. His wrist pulsing and a faint golden light slowly emerging, and it seems to be attracting the orb like a magnet.
"You won't? What? Give up? Ha, too late for that now!" Feng Gao growls, stepping on Kai's fingers, making him scream out in pain.
Tears ran down his cheeks, as his body burned with excruciating pain. His determination slowly faded when he saw Feng Gao bending down to take up the orb. But as his fingers glazed the orb, a bolt of blue lightning struck him in the back. Kai looked up and saw Qing Yuan running to them, his eyes burning with non ending rage.
"Come to rescue your beloved I see!" But he ignored Fong Woo's teasing, smashing into Fong Woo with brute force.
Gao turned away from Kai, and aimed his sword at Shui.
"You focus on getting what we came here for, I will handle lover boy over here!"
'Yes, you do that. That is why you are here anyways.' Gao thought with a scowl, his attention back to Kai who had struggled to get up on his feet. The orb clutch in his hand, as blood gushed from his wound. "I see that you are up, now surrender over yourself!"
"No!" Kai croaks out. "I won't let you win."
"Fine then, I will just force you then!" Feng Gao flew up to Kai, hitting him with a wave of power. Lifting him to the sky, and then slamming him back to the ground with a thud.
Half an hour later, Kai is a bloody wounded mess. But he still didn't let Feng Gao get a hold of the orb or the lotus aura. He looked over at Qing Yuan who was still fighting Fong Woo, who wouldn't give Shui a chance to even get to Kai. Kai tongue touches his bottom lip, and hiss in pain. His body aching, but full of courage.
"Why won't you give up already!" Feng Gao raged. His hand generates black lightning bolts, ready to hit Kai. But a familiar voice interrupted the scene, making Kai's heart sink.
"Kai!" Zhang shouted, his body well armoured up and a sword clutched in his hand. Their eyes locked, and for a brief moment, relief filled Kai's heart. But it vanished when he saw Feng Gao smiled evilly at him, and aimed at Zhang instead.
A clash of swords could be heard to the side of him, before a flash of red hue. And then Qing Yuan fell to the ground. Kai watched in horror as blood fell deep out of the vicious gash inflicted on Shui's chest by Fong Woo. And that was the ticking of the bomb that set Kai off. The pulsing of the orb got stronger, and bright light from his palms surrounded the orb. And Kai suddenly felt this powerful energy, and he could feel the orb's powers combining with his. The connection of his spiritual aura strengthened, and the last thing he remembered was his auras bursting out in a series of light energy before everything went black.
