Chapter 18 - Chapter 18:"Traits Farm"

I looked at the trait [Basic Fortune], it talked about how your luck would be positive? What does that mean? Does it really take a trait to have good luck? What if someone is very lucky, but doesn't have the trait?

And then I finally got it, the reason why so many things went wrong for me, I understood everything.

Luc was luck, it was neither good nor bad.... Depending on the traits the latter will change, I, on the other hand, did not have any of those traits, which meant that my luck was neutral, normally people had this kind of luck, however it was much smaller than mine.

Now I understood how neutral luck worked.... You would get into situations where you could come out on top because of your skill or even simple chance, this all sounded great, it's useful in comparison to bad luck.... However, when you had a lot of it... It would get to situations like Broga's.

I was sent to a misclassified planet, that chance was abysmally small, I almost died there.... But because of my skill and preparation I managed to survive, benefiting in the process, this was neutral luck at its best.

However, neutral luck would sometimes act as good luck and sometimes as bad... It was an extremely volatile thing, if you had as much as I did you could go from winning the lottery to dying in a terrible accident.

I shook my head immediately, I was extremely glad I had never increased my luck, already in itself my current life was extremely complex and difficult, I don't want to make it more complicated, maybe the rewards would be greater.... But what's the point if I couldn't even meet the "challenge"?

Perhaps you could say that neutral luck at its best follows the rules of a game... The harder the challenge, the better the reward, however without the system I would have won absolutely nothing.... If someone else without a system were in my place.... They could go through hell and back and if chance didn't favor them they would win nothing!

A shudder ran through me... Why the fuck do I have this!? Is it maybe a player thing? Does it depend on the person...?

Ugh... Never mind that now, if I can't come up with an answer it may as well stay in the corner of my mind gathering dust.

Well... Let's see... What do I know about traits...?

They're something apart from skills, they are rather passive, they're things that normal people are usually born with, if you don't gain any from birth it is very difficult to gain one, and as far as I have seen for a player like me, it is even more difficult, they are capable of increasing stats, giving you a limb like [Saiyan Tail] and other very strange things like [Zenkai], they were an extremely coarse group, however what I could be sure of was that the vast majority of talents can be extremely useful.

One of the shortcuts to getting them would be quests.... Some let you acquire traits or skills from someone, however it is very difficult to gain a trait.... Also, these quests are extremely hard to accomplish...

How can I get quests with good rewards?! Well... Normally the golden rule of the system is to reward efforts, the more difficult the better the rewards... Maybe that's why it's a "good" combination with the neutral luck... It will prevent randomness from letting you down...

Another way to increase the rewards in my experience... Was that you didn't have to search for the quest yourself, like a sudden encounter with a dangerous situation or someone coming to ask you for help, all these quests would have higher rewards than, for example, going to people and asking if they need help to do something.

This... Has given me an idea...

For the time being... I'll just go with what I had in mind.... I will immediately ask for the people chosen by me to be taken away... And I'll also need all the information there is about them, I urgently need to read the report about Creva....

...

(Creva's POV)

I was inside a spaceship, sitting the side not wanting to draw attention to myself.

In the same room where the so-called geniuses of our generation, all of them were talking happily among themselves, meanwhile from time to time they sent me a confused and disdainful look.

Nobody knew what I was doing here... Not the teachers, not the geniuses, not even myself.... I am only slightly above average after all, there were many others above me who could have taken my place....

In a way I was terrified... What if they realize at the training grounds that I'm a fraud?! They'll see that I'm just a wimp! I doubt that they'll let me go so easily... What if...? They'll pull me out of Rapagar School...? I doubt that I'll find a good position in the army without the preparation that I'd get here...

But... They'll take a while to figure me out... Won't they...? I might as well make the most of it here before I'm kicked out... Yes...! That's what I should do! Maybe after that I'll be worthy of getting a decent position! Or even...! Keep my stay at Rapagar School!

I remained sitting where I was, this time filled with excitement and inspiration.

...

Finally, the ship arrived at its destination, a small planet with a metallic cover on its surface, there was no vegetation or nature, probably no life forms either.

I could feel a lump in my throat, I swallowed saliva at the sight of the planet .... I had never seen anything like this before!

The spaceship landed on a flat metallic gray surface, its doors opened, and we all went down in a line, we wanted to run immediately, but we kept our composure anyway, arranging ourselves in formation.

When we were all organized, we looked at the quiet figure standing before us, a mysterious figure that looked at us throughout with analytical and cold eyes.... My blood would've run cold if it wasn't for the psychological training we all had.

For some reason... His figure looked extremely familiar.... Had I seen him before? Wait... Isn't that the person I bumped into in the hallway?

While I was stunned, a voice came out of the man, despite being short in height, just under 4'2 xefs (Approximately 1'65 meters), his voice was heard throughout the place loud and clear, it was calm as the flattest of lakes.

Baël: "I see that you have all arrived.... Your teachers must have informed you about the special training, right?"

In spite of our doubts, we all answered with a "Yes, sir!".

Baël: "Well... It's time to introduce myself, although it won't be necessary to say much, after all you already know me very well..."

He let out a sigh at the end.

How did we know him? What did he mean...? I FORGOT SOMEONE IMPORTANT IN THE CLASSES?! ... No! Impossible! Everyone else looks just as confused as me....! That means no one knows...

Immediately as an answer to our doubts something landed next to that person at full speed, a rumble was heard, yet neither the ground nor whatever it was that fell broke, there wasn't even dust rising up.

That thing that had fallen... WAS IT BAËL'S ARMOR?! WHAT IS THIS?!

(POV Baël)

Everyone had a surprised expression on their faces, I lightly touched the armor, and it opened revealing its empty interior.

Baël: "As many have guessed by now... I am Baël! Yes, Baël! The one from the advertisements! The creator of the Baël Martial Arts! The savior of the Calar civilization! ... And you ... You are going to receive special training made specifically by me!"

Everyone was even more surprised, some people's legs began to shake.... This was the result of all the effort put into their civilization.... Heh... I like it...

I started to shake my head speaking in an annoyed tone.

Baël: "I can see that some of you still need more psychological training... If you can't bring yourselves to stand in front of me... You'd better get back to the ship right now!"

Now their expressions became frightened to the limit, they straightened up putting on their best military pose, perfectly aligned and straight as a rampart.... I have to say they exceeded my expectations, still, I couldn't admit it to them so soon, then they would relax, and that's not something I want.

Baël: "From today on, your training will begin... You will not see your family for a few months, however.... I assure you it will be worth it! After all... Isn't that the main reason you came here?! Everyone has their own reason! And everyone will achieve it under my command! After going through hell, no other situation will be difficult for you! All the effort you put in here will be greatly rewarded!"

Cries of excitement came out of their mouths, some with slight tears, all ready to start at any moment.

Baël: "The training will begin now.... I will explain to each one of you a general training, depending on what I see I will give you the most suitable training for each one of you.... Give it your all! Don't limit yourselves off in the slightest!"

I brought the band of excited soldiers in formation to a nearby building, each entered a room, these were gravity rooms, I hadn't yet figured out how Bulma did it, but these here increased it in another way, it couldn't be increased that much, but it's not like they had to.

A screen would show them some human workouts, these would have great effectiveness when mixed with meditation, increasing body limits and power quickly, an AI would teach each of them how to do their particular workout perfectly, after all I can't always be on their backs, however I will go on to advise each of them..... Especially Creva.

I had it all planned to perfection, this star system I was in had several planets that suited it perfectly, a planet full of vegetation and life for all of us to meditate on, a planet close to the sun that had a high temperature, a planet with extremely low temperatures, even a planet with a decent gravity, about.... 300 times the gravity of the Earth, something that normally would be impossible, but the laws in this world were different, there were extremely dense materials that allowed it.

I had some sets of armor ready, they can adjust the user's temperature and even gravity, so survival in a harsh environment becomes much easier with one of these.

Meanwhile, several of these planets were dedicated to my research, they had several automated factories creating lots of parts, even spaceships, after many talks with Rayco and him leaving me many blueprints I was able to investigate and understand how they mostly worked, even so I was still using the Calartian models with small changes, after all they were still better than mine.

Some AI ships were in charge of getting and storing materials from other star systems around us.

Some of the ships produced would stay here, these would be used to transport to planets in the same star system in less than a minute, they could go faster, but then there would be a risk of crashing into the planet, they would also be useful for soldiers to learn to pilot them and get experience inside them.

They could also be used in case we were attacked, the AI would control them.... However, it wasn't too reliable, and the ones that were actually reliable were extremely complicated to design, so that's why they still carried crew, it was still better than nothing I guess? Most of the ships would be taken to the Calar civilization for their use.

Okay... Enough, time to focus on myself.

After a year and a half, I no longer looked like a kid, I was a young adult or a teenager.... One of those teenagers that you can't really tell if he's an adult or not.

I was finally starting to break my bottleneck, my stats were increasing again, however it wasn't because of training, meditation was improving my body, before I couldn't show my full power without taking damage as a result, the only reason I haven't exploded yet was my great vitality stats....

Besides having a higher overall defense and environment resistance, my body had become stronger on a cellular level, my physical stats (Vit, Str and Dex) increased with the improvement, this mixed with a little light training was the most effective, if I overdid it with the training all the effort would be useless, maybe it would even slow down my progress.

Well... There is still something equally or even more important.

[Ki Control Lvl. 199]

[Ki Detection Lvl. 199]

They had finally reached the final bottleneck.... For a long time now, I had been trying to gain enough understanding about the two techniques, training profusely and meditating on it for more than two full months without a break.... However, a few weeks ago I fulfilled the requirement, only the experience remains.

Despite constantly completing missions, the experience I received was still not enough.... But today... I should be able to reach the required experience!

To say I was impatient was an understatement.... I needed to know what I would get when I reached the maximum level, after all only the skill itself will receive a great improvement, each previous level was like breaking the understanding I had of the technique and reforming it in a better way.... However, the bottlenecks were an even bigger improvement!

I kept fantasizing as I watched my experience go up every now and then, after a few minutes it would only take a single mission to reach the requirement.... I moved even closer to the hologram of the system.... Minutes passed... Hours... And it still didn't increase...

What the fuck was going on?! Were all those useless grunts resting?!

A white-haired girl appeared next to me with a worried expression.

[Should I activate Gamer's Mind forcibly, Baël?]

The beautiful voice asked.

Baël: "Let me have some!"

Then I let myself fall back on my back on the metal floor, I lay there with my eyes closed for a second before sighing.... I then started to laugh.

Baël: "hehehe.... Hahahahaha, you sons of bitches! Neutral luck really is awesome... What fun! Hahahaha!"

There was no irony in my voice, just mockery and genuine fun, I had lost my definition of fun even in my previous life, here meanwhile it had reached an even higher level....

Baël: "No need for that, system.... You know I like to pretend just to have some fun."

I said, jumping up.

I looked at a screen near me... Apparently the next mission wouldn't be over for a few more hours.

Ugh... I had really been cut off by the excitement.... Dragon Ball universe never changes, huh? Just like when you were waiting for the big battle, but they played the commercials?

I laughed quietly at my jokes, dammit.... If the system allowed me to go crazy, I would have quickly gone insane in this world.... How funny...

I stopped wasting time and started to practice my martial arts a bit, I had finally mastered some stages of Zak's training, even when I had spent most of the time training skills, inside my mind it had been several years.

I had become accustomed to finding the best way to dodge, attack and counterattack, using some degrees even with tenths, however I still had a long way to go....

Zak also taught me to do my attacks without excessive movements, these movements spent energy and even slowed down and took away strength in the blows and moves, he helped me to perfect the use of my whole body behind each blow, it was something I learned in my previous life, however this was at a much higher level than what I knew before.

Finally, breathing, one of the characteristics of many martial arts, with it, you could spend less energy and even regenerate it at a faster rate, besides offering you a great control over your body and mind, in my previous life there was a man who could bathe in ice water without problems, all this because of his breathing method and training, his breathing allowed him to control his heart and with it the temperature of his body.

Martial arts had much more behind them than could be imagined.... Currently, I had achieved an overwhelming control of my own body.

As I practiced, the characteristic sound of the system alerted me.

[Baël, the experience has exceeded the limit you wanted.]

Excitement returned to me as I immediately stopped practicing, opened the status panel and raised the two skills in level immediately.

[Ki Control Lvl. MAX (200)]

[Ki Detection Lvl. MAX (200)]

Immediately I was in shock, a huge amount of information flowed into my brain, I went practically blank, all the understanding I had previously had become obsolete while tons of new information started replacing it.

My head started to ache slightly before Zak started to act storing and sorting the information, this immediately relieved the pain.

After a few minutes cold sweat ran down my forehead and back, I couldn't believe all this, the truth, the only thing I knew about this upgrade was that whatever it was it would exceed my expectations.... Yet it broke every expectation including the previous one....

A few more notifications popped up.

[The Host has reached a great level of understanding about Ki, for his hard effort he receives the trait (Ki Sage)]

[Ki Sage:

Your understanding of Ki is unrivaled, your (Ki Control), (Ki Detection) and any related skills undergo a qualitative and quantitative change. The host will receive greater understanding on Ki related techniques, the experience requirement of these to level up and at bottlenecks will be less]

[Upon reaching the threshold of (Ki Control) the host receives the skill (Divine Ki Control)]

[Divine Ki Control Lvl. 1:

Allows the Host to control the divine Ki in his body, the higher the level the greater his control will be]

[Upon reaching the threshold of (Ki Detection) the host receives the skill (Divine Ki Detection)]

[Divine Ki Detection Lvl. 1:

Allows the Host to detect divine Ki and beings that have it, the higher the level the greater the distance and accuracy of the detection]

[Due to the Host's great understanding of Ki and reaching the maximum levels in (Ki Control) and (Ki Detection) he has gained the trait (Transcendental Ki)]

[Transcendental Ki:

The Host has the opportunity to transform his own Ki into divine Ki by special methods]

I immediately understood why my understanding advanced to that extent All these rewards are impressive!

After such a long time I understood the system quite well, for me, it was more difficult to create and obtain skills and especially traits, the last trait [Transcendental Ki], I was pretty sure there was a much "easier" way to obtain it, for example, Kami-Sama of the earth became a god, after all a mortal can become one, Kami himself offered Goku to be his successor.

However, these gods did not have high power, in fact, their understanding of Ki, although high, was not as advanced as mine, it was obvious that there was a special method, perhaps a type of training or refinement, however upon reaching the peak of the mortal realm.... I entered the world of the gods, and with a great advantage as I would be [Ki Sage].

After doing some research I couldn't learn how to use [Transcendental Ki], it was clear that it was not a transformation, and it said so in its very description, special methods were used, this trait would only allow me to use them without being a successor of a god or chosen one.... I might have to make some visits....

Putting that aside, with this accomplished and my bottleneck almost broken, it was time for the war to begin.... After all without it, I could not create my organization....

Soon... Hundreds of galaxies will plunge into absolute chaos... All because of a whimsy little name that no one outside pays attention to... All according to plan... Heheheh...
