Chapter 14 - Chapter 14:"The Calar civilization"

A beautiful green color filled my sight, astonishing vegetation and wild fauna could be seen all over the place.

This was a small planet still without an official name, probably its inhabitants referred to it by some name, but that didn't matter to Frieza's army and to the most advanced civilizations.

Even humans name the indigenous civilizations of, for example, America, Incas. We call them that way because the leader was named Inca, i.e. This was not even the name the natives used to refer to themselves!

The same has been repeated everywhere, both in my previous world and in this one.

Okay, I think I'm getting sidetracked.... It's already been 8 years since I came here.... Huh... I don't know whether to feel bad that I've done more in 8 years than in my whole life or to rejoice.... Who am I kidding? Of course, I'm glad!

Since I've come here I've changed in so many ways.... Although it may not have been noticeable, I used to be cautious, but being here increased it a whole lot more, I knew that it doesn't matter how cautious I am, as it would not be enough....

I have been learning to control my impulses and Saiyan blood better each time, I have improved to the limit my manipulation skills and have gained more and more reasons to keep forcing myself to improve.... Before I only knew that I wanted to survive and be free.... Now I know what that entails, and what it truly means to be unprepared for the journey.... Still, I never plan to give up.

Currently, I had been meditating, I was on a mission, before I only controlled small planets, now I was sent with my platoon to control entire solar systems, I took the opportunity to train my skills and meditate on good planets full of life.

Explosions sounded in the distance.

Too bad for them... All the civilizations of this planet may die.... But I won't feel sorry for them, I need this to get better after all, if I hadn't come, another general would do it and take them, I'd rather do it myself and benefit from it..... In the end, all races end up enslaving and killing the inferior ones once they advance in the chain of life.... Only in my previous life it was already like this.... In the interstellar era it has reached the point of conquering entire systems and galaxies.

I got up from the ground and pressed a few buttons on the tracker I was wearing, this was to notify my troops that I would be away for a while.

This one wasn't the same platoon as last time, I purposely picked out the members of the team so that they would get along with no problems.

After doing so, I took off my tracker and put it in a metal box, it was heavy, at least for a normal person, for me, it felt like having nothing, this was a soundproof box made by me, so I wouldn't be spied on by the tracker.

I got into the spaceship next to me and pressed a few buttons.

This was my personal ship, bought by none other than Dodoria himself, not being directly from the army it would not be monitored, they evidently kept records of where each ship went, this ship was faster than the average sergeant ships, it would probably be similar to one of rank.... Brigade, probably, that would be about 3 ranks above me, I hadn't been promoted yet because I had already been promoted recently, but when they do promote me I'm sure I'll climb a few ranks immediately.

The best thing for me about this ship was that it didn't have the automatic hibernation function — That meant I could keep training my skills along the way! The ship was also big enough to do some training, but it couldn't compare to the one Goku used in the Namek saga, it didn't have enhanced gravity or anything like that.

I moved my Ki through my body with surgical precision, using the river-like path that ran through my entire body, I was trying to nourish my body with my Ki enhancing it at a faster rate than normal.

I also focused on sensing the Ki of creatures on nearby planets, I had reached that level quite some time ago, I couldn't say precisely how much it is, but I could sense relatively low levels of Ki from planets that are close, unless someone has a monstrous level of power, I wouldn't be unable to sense it if they're too far from me, if they're in another galaxy... Forget it, I would never be able to sense it.

The thought of me approaching Goku's level in late Dragon Ball Z made me feel amazing, I wonder what happened to Goku.... I doubt it changed the story enough for him to die.

A hologram with a planet appeared on the ship's main computer, seas of dark blue and green and patches of black earth were scattered all over the planet, some yellow patches of uninhabitable deserts stained the surface, if the planet had a life bar it should have less than 10% Hp left without a doubt.

This one here was the planet I was heading to, but it wasn't just this one, the rest of the planets in that solar system were the same, it's weird that I would want to go to a desolate planet right? I couldn't even meditate there... Heheheh... Wrong.

That solar system was inhabited by a civilization that had been in danger for years.

It turns out that this civilization was on bad terms with the Cooler's army, Frieza's brother. Normally these organizations could conquer planets with natives easily, but when it comes to an interstellar level civilization they take other types of measures rather than focusing on direct confrontation.

This race had an economic blockade, they could not buy anything from other civilizations or organizations, plus, Cooler's army was constantly pressuring them by attacking planets.

This had reached the point where all their planets except the main ones were conquered, despite all this, Cooler never really paid attention to the civilization, for him, it was an assured profit that would fall by itself. Cooler couldn't take too aggressive measures though, as that would alienate the civilizations that trade with him.

All this had been analyzed by Zak, who was currently still investigating with the help of the system, that is the reason why I'm not talking with him right now. He had also calculated when the next attack would be approximately, it only took a review of the information of Frieza's army.

Heheh... I should thank Cooler for helping me in my plan.... He's leaving me the benefits on a silver platter!

...

6 days later, we had arrived at the planet.

The ship I was in remained several million kilometers away from the solar system and I began to wait while I continued to practice, I was on the lookout for any sign of foreign energy in addition to the ships of this civilization navigating the planets surface.

...

(Leader of the Calar civilization's POV)

Piles of papers filled my view, I was sitting in a comfortable chair adaptable to my body, however, with all the stress I had, the best of the chairs felt like a piece of iron to me.

I was going through papers continuously stamping them and signing on some, normally advanced civilizations like us would only use paper for the most confidential matters, because if it was on the net the information could be stolen.

Despite this, we had reached a point where we had to use paper for a great number of things out of sheer fear that those tyrants in Cooler's army would destroy all means of communication and administration with a simple move.

Our economy was rapidly being destroyed and the number of planets from which we could draw resources was very limited — Luckily, several of the fleets from our old solar systems made it back, however, those bastards.... It's like they have unlimited resources! We're in a battle of attrition where we can only lose!

Ugh... And all this because of inept rulers.... I really... I really wish I could surrender, that way I can save what's left of my inhabitants and my sweet wife.... No... Who am I kidding...? Those monsters will murder them with some excuse...

The best thing would be to carry out an evacuation plan, one where a great part of the population escapes leaving me, together with the army behind... We would gain time while they go to a planet away from the clutches of these armies... Maybe even seek help from the Galactic Patrol if necessary.... Heh... If only it was all this easy... They'd intercept us immediately, those scoundrels have fleets watching around... For that plan to work we'd have to send in ships one at a time...

W-What is that cold on my face...? A-Am I crying...? No... There's no time for this, Diper, come on... I need to keep moving forward! I'll look for ways to get as many people out of this place as possible even if it costs me my life! I'm not like those stupid rulers of the past who only thought about filling their stomachs and bank accounts! Or the heartless ones of the other civilizations!

A rhythmic sound rang from the computer in front of me, it was a call, so in other words, something extremely urgent.

I immediately touched the button almost hitting it, the old and imposing voice of my captain general could be heard urgently.

Captain General: "Diper! Come on, damn it, answer!"

Diper: "I'm here Gaus! What's going on?! Don't tell me that...!"

Gaus: "YES! It's exactly what you're thinking! It's Cooler's army! Those bastards are back! Cut off the supply ships! Help notify the fleets! You know what the hell else you have to do!"

My old friend's voice growled incessantly.

I quickly pressed two more buttons calling several people without cutting the call with Gaus.

Luckily, people were already living in bunkers and most active ships on the surface were military only, the supply ships were cruising at lower altitude, so they could protect themselves while the military was buying time.

For my part, the building I was in was one of the safest.... I certainly wish they were all like that, but the scarcity of resources doesn't allow it.

After notifying everyone in charge I turned my attention back to Gaus.

He was giving orders non-stop, quickly his hologram gave me a look and pressed a button, other holograms appeared showing the situation on the outside.

Diper: "I'm going to get Moneiba and Rayco on the call!"

Two more buttons were pressed causing two more holograms to appear, one showing the face of Moneiba, a mature woman who was our greatest military strategist, and Rayco, a surprisingly young scientist, the latter despite his age having been the greatest scientist we have ever had on record in our civilization.

The four of us were great friends indeed, and one of the few leaderships that really cared about their people and civilization.

Gaus: "This time they've sent a larger number of troops according to the trackers and satellites! They're planning more than just a skirmish!"

Moneiba: "Maybe they're trying to take Drom from us?! It's the planet where most of the food is produced!"

Rayco: "It could be a distraction! That way they'd buy enough time to hack into our networks and take down the media!"

Gaus: "It could be both options.... I highly doubt they would dare to finally invade the entire star system! They would lose all credibility and reputation!"

Diper: "Well... Assume they'll try to do both things! They want to take down the information and communications network and try to steal or destroy our main resource planet! Act and think that way!"

I was silent for a second.

Diper: "Now... Tell me... Is there... Any way we can evacuate the population on short notice...?"

Everyone was silent with a shadowed face as they thought of an answer.

Rayco: "I... I've been researching some anti-radar technology..."

Diper: "Tell me! Go on! H-have you had any results?!"

Rayco:"... Not enough... I might be able to avoid the common detection of the ships... But I haven't yet figured out how to hide the Ki.... Less with the current resources we have..."

Diper: "Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! We can't just sit around and do nothing!"

Silence once again filled the call...

Moneiba: "Actually... We can use that technology Rayco talks about.... We could send ships to different locations to escape the area and have them rendezvous somewhere else..."

Diper:"... You know that most of them would die... Right...?"

Moneiba:"... Yes... At the moment it's... The only thing we can do... We will implement it as a last resort option."

Diper:"... I-It's okay... I approve..."

So that will be the only option we have.... Certainly... It's pathetic...

Gaus:"... Moneiba! They're attacking from sector 4! Look at the hologram and take care of the troop formations! You're better at that than me! While you, Rayco! Tell us what you learned about Cooler's ships! It'll be useful for the strategies! Diper, help me with the communications! Let the whole army know!

Quickly we all began to discuss as we each contacted the right people.

In a battle for the conquest of a planet, we could use the powerful individuals, however... In a battle of ships... Sending them would only cause them to die in the continuous firing of lasers... That's if we don't count that they couldn't breathe outside, it would be wasting resources for the suits...

We were like that for half an hour, until Gaus suddenly shouted, it wasn't one of his orders, but something of genuine surprise.

Diper: "What happened, Gaus?!"

Gaus: "L-Look at the holograms!"

Everyone's attention was focused on these holograms, you could see ships being destroyed everywhere, I didn't see anything strange.... But after looking for a few more seconds, I could see how several ships were exploding without being attacked by our army.... What's going on!?

Quickly the number of enemy ships began to fall drastically, I began to think it was just another meaningless trap, until finally we could see the culprit.

An individual... A humanoid figure was wearing full body armor. We could not see any of his features, the armor didn't hinder his movements and still allowed him to make attacks with his Ki.

That person was extremely fast, and the most impressive fact was that their armor was able to resist the few attacks they received from the ships.

Rayco: "Th-That...! THAT'S AWESOME! WHAT KIND OF ARMOR IS THAT?! HOW DOES IT HAVE SO MUCH POWER?!"

Gaus: "Forget those things Rayco! We don't know what he's doing here! What if he doesn't mean well?!"

Moneiba: "We can't trust him for the moment...! Rayco, look for a signal to communicate with him...! If at the end of the battle he hasn't attacked any of our ships contact him!"

We all nodded instantly.

Is he a good person...? I would definitely think not... But seeing what is happening.... Maybe... He can become a new asset for our people to live...?

I tried to dismiss those thoughts.

Diper:"... Provide him with support! Order the troops not to fire on him and mark him in the reconnaissance system as an ally!"

After a few seconds they didn't see any inconvenience and accepted, meanwhile the individual threw rays from their fingers, they went through the ships making them explode, sometimes going through several at the same time.

...

Finally, the battle was over, whatever Cooler's army was going to do, they had no time to finish it... And it was certainly thanks to that person....

Immediately Rayco sent out a call request.... This one rang for a few seconds before making the sound of it being accepted.

A voice rang, however there was no hologram, the voice was quite young.

Baël: "Hello everyone"

Said the young voice in universal language.

Diper:"... He-"

Gaus: "Who are you?! And what are your intentions?!"

Gaus interrupted me suddenly.

Baël: "I didn't expect them to be like this.... Never mind, I'm Baël! My intentions? I'm just trying to help you guys out!"

Looks of distrust appeared on our faces.

Baël: "It's clear that you don't believe me... Would you see it more reasonable if I wanted something in return? Technically I'm here to make a deal!"

The looks softened slightly.

Diper: "So, talk... What deal do you intend to make with us?"

I asked harshly.

Baël: "I know the situation you're in.... So I have a question for you... Do you want your people and civilization to live and prosper?"

He asked with great seriousness, immediately my face betrayed me showing disbelief.

Diper:"... C-Can you really do it?"

Baël: "I'm serious.... Listen, I know how it may sound, but wait until I'm done.... I'm a general in Frieza's army, however The army is about to fall in on itself! There's going to be an internal war that will end in its own destruction!"

Everyone's faces changed for a few moments, but we decided to let him continue.

Baël: "I've finished with the ships monitoring the area, I can command my unit to finish off Cooler's ships, and you'll have enough time to get away from here without being seen.... I will be able to categorize it as a mission to steal the planets Cooler was trying to conquer, after all the two armies always compete for planets and have constant skirmishes."

At this instant my eyes opened completely, the opportunity I was looking for was right in front of my eyes! However... I can't act rashly...

Diper:"... What do you want in return?"

Baël: "You would have to support me during the war with supplies, weapons, etc."

Diper: "You understand that you are only a general, don't you? It would only be suicide for you and for us!"

Baël: "Hahahaha! You think I'm alone? Not at all! I have Dodoria himself on my side along with multiple races within the army! You probably doubt there will even be a war in the first place, but... Would you change your mind if Frieza's right-hand man himself said so?"

This... It looks like he really means it...

Baël: "We'll create an organization to resist these tyrannical forces! We'll be able to run away from that powerful people without any problems! Do you understand this?!"

I really... This is what I wanted the most...

Baël: "I'll put you right now in a call with Dodoria, choose with him if you accept the deal or not..."

Rayco: "Hey! Baël! Is Frieza's army's technology really that advanced to make suits like the one you're wearing?!"

Baël: "This suit? Not at all! They don't focus on that kind of thing! I created this suit myself!"

Immediately Rayco's eyes sparkled, like the hardened scientist he is he couldn't help but be interested in Baël....

Diper: "All right... Connect me to Dodoria..."

Baël disappeared from the call and someone else replaced him, this time we could actually see his face.

(Baël's POV)

All this should be enough to get a whole civilization on our side.... Although Cooler had sent too many troops because of me, since I destroyed several of their ships that monitor the civilization.... But that's not something you need to know...

Heheheheh... With all this... The only thing left to do is to move up the ranks in the army... And it will destroy itself...!
