Savon stood in the middle of the room. There were ten demons in here with him, powerful demons that he was to use. Astor circled him for a moment and Savon was tense as he did. He didn't want him behind him but he didn't have much choice at the moment.
"They are at your disposal." Astor said stopping at Savon's left. He pointed to the floor. "I will leave it to you to make the number you bring over. I'm sure you know your own strength and what you can handle. I want as much as you can, no more no less."
"You'll get what I manage." Savon said. None of the demons moved. their eyes glazed over as Astor held their minds. "Going to stay, I wouldn't mind using you." He said his voice deeper, his eyes brighter. Savon was barely holding back his acolyte. It wanted to pounce, to kill like never before. Astor had betrayed him, killed him when he should have helped him.
"Killing me will just be your dream, never a reality."
"We will see." Savon answered looking at him. Astor held out a hand.
"They are yours." He let go of the demons minds. Before they could even snap out of the trance Savon took hold of them keeping them there. This was much different than when he was younger. When he was younger he hadn't been able to do this. Instead the demons had been lied too. Told to watch Savon, to make sure he did the ritual right.
"You will be a prized addition to my collection. I'm sure your blood will heighten my own powers." Astor was a greedy fucker wasn't he? Savon felt bile rise at the idea of him feeding from Savon.
"Come near me and I'll kill you." Savon said curling his lip slightly, his teeth showing. They were a bit more pointed than before. The fuck he'd let Astor feed from him. Astor just looked at him.
"Do as you bargained or the first thing I do is take care of that little human you are so fond of." Savon just watched him as he moved to the door, leaving the room.
'Let us be done with this so we may kill him.'
'Yes.' Savon said and moved forward fast. He went to the walls first and used his own blood to change the needed symbols. He moved back to the center of the room. Then began what he needed. In his hand he held a black handled knife.
What he'd done to this ritual changed it to the reverse of what it was to do. It would take those from the surrounding area and send them back to the other side. If they were demon it was hell, if they were human... Savon didn't know what happened to human souls. Astor was a fool to leave but at the same time any in this room that weren't preforming it were the sacrifice.
He stepped forward and slit the throat of the first demon directly in front of him. He continued standing as if nothing had happened. Savon moved around the room, almost chanting. He took the knife slamming it into the heart of the next demon and twisting.
He did this, alternating what he was doing until he came to the last one. This one stood over the symbol that stood for acolyte. This final death would open the gate. Instead of them coming out, the acolytes were about to get a large group being sent to them. The betrayal that had happened to his other half, had sealed their fate the instant it had been done. Since it was in reverse, Savon's drain in strength wasn't needed. The drain from the other side was. The acolytes that waited on the other side, would begin to drain, but they would not be leaving.
It wouldn't kill them, but it would be like shock therapy for them. All Savon could do was smile. He wished he could be there when they started to fall, started to feel the effects. This is what they got for trying to cut out his line. A learning acolyte was the most dangerous because they never stopped growing in power. It was their condition to continue to amass knowledge and power to the point of insanity.
Savon stood in front of the demon and let him come to the front. Behind Savon he heard the first demon he'd cut fall to the floor, a couple seconds later so did the second. This demon before him was shorter, a male. His eyes cleared and he blinked seeing what was going on in the room. That those with him here where dying.
This last one had to be forced. Savon was the consensual part, he was consenting for the acolytes as he had been chosen so long ago to be. Therefore it still stood that he could speak for them even if Lycain wasn't really fully acolyte anymore. If he had been bringing them up, then it would have to be him. He would have to be drained and possibly die for it.
"What... what are you doing?" The demon said fear in his eyes. Savon was still chanting and looked at the blade. He couldn't stop until the last body behind them hit the floor. He heard the last one drop, he could feel the power building. Those from the outside world feeding into it. Astor had said to do the number that he could. Savon could do a lot.
He waited until all the power that he could manage pulled to him, the demon just staring. Savon held out the blade, and it went from black to blue. He slammed it into the demon's chest, and he made a face of pain. Savon twisted it, his eyes bright just looking at the man. Instead of falling to the floor dead like the others his skin went from bronze to ashen.
His skin looked like it was starting to flake away. Being pulled down and into the floor. Savon heard something slam against the door but he ignored it. No one was coming in until this was finished. The demon seemed to be sucked into the floor, there was an icy cold blast of air that came from no where in the room.
The symbols on the walls moved, looking like they were dripping down to the floor too. Savon felt all those that were pulled toward the void that this room now created. It felt like something clawed its way up Savon's spine and he hissed slightly at the pain of it.
His marking burned and moved, sliding over his back. He felt how it positioned over his spine, the wings of the creature lining up along either side. The pain dulled, but it was still there, and he felt something wet on his face after a moment. The cold air running past him and into the symbol on the floor.
Savon touched his face and pulled it away, there was blood there. He touched his other cheek with the same result, he was crying tears of blood. He used a hand to wipe it away and then the room started to grow warmer.
Savon pulled the weapons that he had. Astor hadn't tried to remove them or it would have gotten ugly and they both knew it. Savon wasn't going to stand here without some kind of weapon. He might be one himself but this was Astor.
There was a loud bang from the other side of the door to his left and Savon had half a smile on his face. Astor was livid, and knew that Savon had tricked him. Did he really fucking think Savon was going to behave and do the right ritual? Did he think that Savon wouldn't know how to manipulate an oath with him? The door snapped inward and Astor moved into the room his eyes a vibrant glowing yellow.
