"What was that?" Kayla asked, she didn't know if she should be upset or relieved. It felt like they had just dodged a bullet there.
"Accidentally ran into a group in the lower level. Didn't have the time to mess with their heads." He said and pulled her up. She fixed her clothes and moved toward the door with him. That was the oddest exchange she'd ever had. She cleared her throat and wanted to share with him what she'd found out in the rooms they'd been in. She figured it important if they needed to rethink their strategy or find out more.
"I heard what Lust was talking to Vincent about before she came on to you. That and a few other things." Kayla said quickly. Which they hadn't had a moment since coming in the door. She wasn't sure if that was helpful now.
"And?" He prompted reaching for the door.
"Astor will be here tomorrow. So we can't come back until he leaves. They are giving him a group of demons and humans."
"They are in the basement." Savon said having seen the group. Though he was sure there were more down there. He moved out the door and she followed. She stopped talking and let him lead again as they came into the hallway. They left this level and came out on the terrace above the main floor. The music was loud and pounding now. The scents stronger than she remembered and they hit her like a slap to the face.
This room had something in the air. It was easy to feel its effects now. She hadn't realized it before. Savon pulled her against him, they went down the stairs fast and were out on the main floor in a matter of minutes. This was the harder part. Moving through the throng of people and there were more here now than there had been before. How long had they been up there? It felt like a time suck in here. Savon spun her around and pulled her flush to him.
"Stay against me, move with me." Savon ordered into her ear and she did as he asked. He was able to move through the crowd rather effectively. Even with how they appeared to just be enthralled in the world around them. Moving like others that held onto their partner.
They came to where the entrance and exit were. He paused keeping them a short distance away. He glanced around, those that were looking for him had come down here now. However the only one that could identify him was dead. He'd used Kayla as a cover.
They would assume him alone, and they thought that he was just trying to steal humans that were down there. Which was wrong. He was just glad that he had her and that she responded the way that she did. After all any demon caught trying to steal from Vincent or Lust would be trying to flea the building not having sex with a human. They'd just checked the room to see if someone was hiding in it. Since the two of them reacted to each other the cover was easy. Though internally he might have thought about staying put a bit longer. His acolyte liked the edge of danger to it as well.
There were a few at the door looking at those leaving. There were demons leaving without humans, and the humans that where leaving didn't look to lively. He looked at Kayla. He moved with her out of their sight and near one of the walls.
"Pass out." Savon said to her. Kayla gave him a confused look. He just stared at her giving her an impatient look. She was still against him and seemed unsure but, she did as he asked. Kayla just went limp her eyes closing and he caught her picking her up and taking her over one shoulder. She literally just hung there and let all of her muscles be loose. Her body swaying with his movements.
Savon was fast to move from the building. The demons there looking at her. Her arms hung down swinging slightly and her hair was veiling her face but she didn't look to be awake. He gave her acting skills props. He moved from the building and around it. Getting away from the crowd of demons there.
Once out of view he set her down and she straightened up. He made sure that no one was watching them before he moved across to the parking lot. He chose a different way to go in, a small gap. There was no one in here, though it looked like a few more cars were gone. He felt a really dark smile come to his face. A satisfaction in they had just done, how foolish the enemy was. Honestly he expected more of an issue.
"Let's not do that again." Kayla said, glancing at him. His demeanor was a bit ridged she thought.
"Not one of my favorite things, but we got what we needed." It was very late, they had been in there for most the night. Savon glanced at her. Her hair wasn't as nice as it had been but she was still appealing either way. He couldn't help how his mind shifted to her, even with where they were. He was still high strong from that place, and his other half wasn't exactly nice. So yeah, it didn't care where they were.
Savon let everything else rush out of him or he might really do something stupid. His other half was feeling giddy and prideful. He felt a euphoria of having slipped by right under their noses. It rushed through him fast and hard. He was still feeling the high from that place as well. It wasn't going away, and as far as he could tell they were in the clear now. So true to fashion his mind switched tracks with his acolyte nudging him. His dark companion that never cared about consequences, just what it could have in the moment.
His gaze moved over Kayla. All night long he'd had her against him but was unable to do anything about it. Simply because of where they were. Plus when he had had her below him it was for no other reason than a charade. Which he'd almost wanted to stay there. Wasn't like they could have, but better to leave in case Lust came looking again. He was having a hard time pushing his acolyte down. It was stronger here and trying to gain on the human half.
Now that he was out here, it was a bit easier to think. He didn't have a barrier out here and he didn't really care if they were still in the city at the moment. No one else was around, whatever they pumped into the air in that place was still coursing through his system. He needed some kind of outlet or he was going to do something irrational that might cause them both problems. As it was his eyes swept the area for some unseen enemy to fight. The idea of spilling blood just as appealing as the thought of her. His thoughts involving her were dark and exciting, far more appealing than the blood lust.
