Doris clutched her sword tight as her eyes were intensely focused on her attackers. She held her stand as she pointed out her sword. On the other hand, Emily was relented. She didn't care at all. She was confident that can't harm her.
"Where's your Queen?" A man with green eyes asked as he gnashed his teeth.
"And who the hell are you asking? As far as I can remember, she's your queen" Emily walked to the man that asked the question. Seeing Emily walking closer to him, he stepped back as he raised his sword. Currently, he wondered what Emily would do. She wasn't with a sword and yet, she wasn't scared of them.
"Don't come closer, or I'll kill you" The man threatened and Emily scoffed.
"You can try it then" Emily pouted her mouth as she raised both hands showing that she surrender. The man widened his eyes. Without thinking twice, he immediately teleported to Emily attempting to slash her neck, but someone did it faster. Doris appeared being him and cut his head away from his body. His men gasped at his miserable death.
"Anyone else?" Doris asked as they shivered in fear. Emily smirked. She felt proud of Doris. She kinda saved her from her foolishness. Perhaps she forgot that she was dealing with a witch and not humans or mermaids.
"Just Die!" Another man said as he threw something that looked like a ball on the floor. After his action, his men ran out of the palace, leaving Emily and Doris standing alone.
"That's a....." Before Emily could complete her statement, the bomb blew up. Those at the battlefield could feel the ground shake while the palace was gradually collapsing.
"Are you alright? Why didn't you save yourself?" Emily yelled on Doris. The girl was broken and severely injured. She could barely stand on her feet.
"I was protecting Amanda and Gideon" She said with a cracked voice as she whimpered in pain. Her clothes were drenched in blood. She gazed up at the palace, it was wholly ruined.
"Why would you save those fucking foolish lovers rather than protecting yourself? She will die anyway" Emily was angry but then, her anger disappeared when someone whispered something to her. "What's the use? She has too" Queen Jessica said and Emily groaned.
"Whatever!! Why do I even care?" Emily spatted and Jessica smirked.
"It's love, Emily. Doris loves them and those two loves each other. Can you…."?
"Enough now, Queen. I don't want to hear it" Emily clenched her fist as she cut the Queen off.
"Okay" Jessica retired.
Emily returned her gaze back to Doris. The girl was finding it difficult to stand on her feet. Emily sighed.
"How will you fight with your body like this?" Emily's voice exposed concerned. Doris raised her head up to her.
"I will fight for Kai and his Mom. I can do it" Doris said and Emily groaned. 'All because of love again!!' She hissed within.
"Will you fight like this, I mean, look at you" She said and Doris got on her feet looking for something to support herself.
"I'll treat you. Just this once!!" She said, and Doris smiled. "And not because of love" She added because she knew that Queen Jessica would have something to say.
Emily made Doris sit on the floor. Chanting some unknown word, Doris grimaced in pain and suddenly, she shouted out. Her body was burning, even if there wasn't fire visible on her skin.
"You will be fine" Emily said and Doris continue screaming.
The pain lasted for a while and then, it disappeared just as it came. Doris panted as cleaned her sweats.
Looking at her body, her injuries were completely healed as if she wasn't injured.
"You are fine now" Emily said and Doris stood on her feet. She gestured a smile to Emily.
"Thank you" Doris said and Emily scoffed.
"That was nothing…"
