Chapter 79 - I tried to stop, but I couldn't

Four days later.....

Without an alarm, the attack was already lunched. The cloud that used to be very bright and clear looked terrifying to the eyes. No one could tell if it was day or night. This still looked like a dream to them. They never expected Elisa to attack without informing them, this was supposed to be a battle and not some kind of game. This baffled Melissa. Her plan didn't go accordingly. Her plan was ruined already, but still, she wasn't willing to let Elisa take what was rightfully hers.

The war between the Gray witches and the Green witches began. Knowing fully well that the Gray witches were more powerful, Melissa gave them a tonic for them to be super strong and alert. Melissa was fully prepared to kill her sister this time.

Houses were destroyed, farmlands were destroyed and children were killed. Melissa couldn't stop Elisa and her armies from entering her kingdom. They've even evaded her palace and killed most of her guards. This was beyond her power. This wasn't the same Elisa she could beat. She was more powerful, not she, her armies were just powerful. Melissa also wondered why Elisa hasn't shown herself yet.

Walking through the corridor, more enemies were attacking Doris, but just with a glare and a swing of her sword, lives were lost. Running as fast as her legs could carry, she barged into Gideon's and Amanda's room.

"Your Highness" Gideon immediately bowed covering his swollen face. Ignoring his greetings, Doris gaped when she saw Amanda's unconscious body on the bed.

"What's going on?" Doris turned to Gideon and immediately, the man raised his head up.

"Nothing, she's sleeping" He lied and Doris raised her brows.

"Sleeping? When there's a war going on? Do you want to end your life or are you lying to me?" Doris yelled out in annoyance, causing Gideon to bow again.

"I'm sorry, Your Highness" He said and Doris sighed.

"You slept with her, right?" Doris asked and Gideon gaped before he nodded hesitantly. Seeing his reaction of her question, Doris walked slowly to Amanda as she placed her palm on her forehead.

Removing her palm, she faced the door as she used her powers to create a barrier at the door. No witches could teleport in or even dare to open the door.

"Despite knowing what will happen to the both of you, why did you both....." Gideon didn't allow Doris to finish her statement. He started shedding tears.

"I tried to stop, but I couldn't. I tried hating her, but I couldn't. I tried avoiding her, but her couldn't. Not only that, but I did everything to push her out of my life, but it wasn't possible. I love her even if I tried to deceive myself several times that I don't" Tears streamed down from his eyes.

"If anything happens to her, I'll also kill myself. I won't be able to live if she dies. Never!!" He said and, causing tears to roll down Doris' eyes. Even if she wanted to be strict and wicked at this point, she would never show that part of her to Gideon. The man was a loyal and submissive person. Even during the times of danger, he never failed to protect.

"Stand up, Gideon." She said, and the man obeyed.

"Since when has she been like this?" Doris asked.

"After the night I slept with her" He answered honestly. Taking a glance at the glass cup beside the bed, Doris made the cup appear on her palm. She took out a dagger from her cloak and then, she slit her palm and poured her blood in the glass cup.

"Here, Gideon, feed this to her. I hope she will be alright. For the mean time, I'll protect you from enemies attack. Stay with her." Doris said and Gideon nodded.

"Bye" She said as she teleported out of the room.

"I can't believe that I'm stained with blood" Emily hissed which caught Doris' attention. Doris walked over to her.

"What are you doing here?" She asked and Emily rolled her eyes.

"I should be asking myself that. Honestly, I don't know what I'm doing here" She said. Doris walked pass her.

"I think you are no longer controlling yourself" Doris said as she slitt the throat of a witch. The witch's head was separated from his body.

"That was cruel" Emily shivered as she saw the witch's head.

"Cruel? That was pity. I didn't give him a miserable death" Doris hissed as they walked down the stairs.

"Miserable death? What could be more miserable than…" Suddenly, they were surrounded by thousands of enemies. Deep down, Emily knew that they were searching for Melissa, but that Queen was in hiding. All she wanted now was Doris. Immediately Doris leaves this palace, she will try her best to execute her plan.
