Chapter 41 - Night ocean.

As Mozus continued advancing thorough the sea of colors and life Edric carefully observed the animals, learning as much as he could from the ways they moved and used essence.

The interior of Mozus was illuminated by the surrounding and looked just like water to the unsuspecting swimmers.

(The animals inside of the water seem stronger than those in land on average, although I haven't seen something as strong as that flying lizard yet)

He thought as he observed the speed and strength of their bodies, when he entered the atmosphere of the planet he had seen that about 86 percent of its surface was covered in water, so there certainly was a bigger amount of life in the sea.

Mozus continued for hours without stopping until it was completely dark, and Edric made a flame in his fingertip to give some visibility to the kids, some of the fauna and flora was shining in a sparkling blue as well as other color, although dimmer.

In this time, Edric was having some conversation in the living room with the kids, and he was teaching them different techniques to use their bodies to the fullest, such as putting all the focus on their goal, take opportunities as soon as they got them, learning as much as they can and never getting overconfident.

[Remember, never stop improving](E)

Mozus kept the rooms at a comfortable temperature for the kids as they entered deeper waters, reaching an equivalent of The pelagic zone, and now the sea extended endlessly on all sides, a human wouldn't be able to see the bottom.

Edric stood up.

[Let's go to sleep now](E)

[Alright](A)

And so Edric took then to their rooms, were he waited until each of them fell asleep.

Edric then started walking towards a wall.

--------------------------------

(Well, it's time for some manual inspection of the sea around us)

As I put my hand against the glass and made a circular gesture the path behind me closed and the area near me slowly started filling with water, as it filled completely a path to the outside opened.

The water was slightly warmer than I expected for this area, and upon closer inspection I realized that water seemed to be a great conductor for essence.

[That would explain why living being are able to use it in the first place, most of them need water, after all]

As I thought that I took a step outside and Mozus continued on its path, I took note of my surroundings and the direction of it.

And then I started moving towards some of the animals that were near me, I chose a school of fish that was well hidden in the sea.

When I got near them I stopped and let them detect me, as I did so they started shining brightly in an attempt to blind me and they started going away and I took one of them and started examining it thoroughly.

When I was done I let it go with its group, and I gained knowledge on how to create light using essence, so I should be able to give some lights to Mozus so I don't have to always create a fire.

[Anyways, something big is coming in this direction]

Allowing myself to be detected attracted some kind of predator, or rather, predators.

I stood there waiting for them and started weakening myself until I had just average strength, the pressure of the water weighted on me and I felt the cold touching my skin.

The first that reached me moved by sliding in the water like a snake, its movement was so fast that it would look like it had a wide body to the eye, when in fact it was more like a scaly worm with horns and sharp teeth.

As I saw it approaching I used mi essence to make a thread in my fingertips and I extended it, making a net to catch the worm.

I swam a little behind and the predator moved directly into it.

[Now]

As soon as the net touched it I pulled with all the strength I allowed myself to use for this animal, and I also used essence to add more

Speed.

It got cut by the fine essence threads and the next one came. This time something similar to a mako shark was coming straight for my back, I turned around and shot its eyes with a beam, it went straight to the brain and died.

The next ones looked like sepias and lobsters, each the size of a whale and I blasted them close range.

Then the heavy hitters started coming, one looked like a ctenophore the size of a house, I tried to hit it with essence but it simply bounced back to me, I tried to attack it some more but it seemed to be invulnerable to slow attacks, so I started increasing the rate of my shots and avoiding them as they came back, soon enough some shots went through and started damaging it.

I got closer to it and started digging through its flesh with my essence beams, it continued moving until I destroyed most of it, I grabbed some and examined it, then replicated it on my own skin

//(Er)64~640->110~650//

As I did this the final foe approached, and it had quite the unique look, along with a deep rumbling sound and multiple off beat clicks.

The clicks were a language of its own so this one was fairly intelligent, almost as much as a human.

(It's slightly smaller than the last one)

It looked like a blob of countless tentacles and spikes of a deep maroon color, and as it got close each tentacle started creating different appendages from essence, such as eyes, beaks and longer tentacles each extending towards me.

It would be annoying to deal with them, so I decided to crush it the easy way.

[This should work, sorry to you but I don't have all day]

And as I said that I grabbed the body of one of my victims and did something that was guaranteed to kill it.

It tried to move away seeing my lack of fear but it was too late.

Along with an explosion the corpse disappeared from my grasp and materialized in the interior of the retreating tentacles, instantly killing it due do the damage to its insides.

I grabbed pieces of all the beings for inspection and continued exploring while the night remained.
