Chapter 1 - The Compassionate Friendship

The dazzling sun was about to set, the pinkish sky was getting apparently darker, and the villagers were preparing to finilize their occupations and secure themselves. Everyone was hustling and the sound of doors being locked was pretty bothersome. It's 5PM, but darkness itself prevails already, imploring a sense of rest.

"Simoun! Brother! I am back!" Sonn hastened to enter their home wherein Simoun was on behalf of writing epistles. He was seated on his working table located just on the middle of the room. Their main home, which style is indifferent and fine, is a square and scalar room where no wall seperates the bedroom, dining table, and kitchen area. There are no walls which apprises someone that this is the kitchen or that is the bedroom.

"Brotheeer!" His cute, childish, young voice and pleasing composure seems to make the atmosphere pretty plausible - he is the ideal friend and cousin one will ever have. He came from an extensive odyssey, went back carrying a bag full of some sort of metallic equipments. Not surprisingly was he already wearing a shiny, blue, noble diamond armor having that it was just a matter of weeks when they started to settle and live at which land. Sonn is skeletal, though he is an aesthetic pleasure to one's eyes. Handsome, quite short, thin - he does not look feeble or weak, however.

Simoun seemed to have an unattended mind towards the entrance of his cousin. He seemed to be wholly collected on his matters, scribbling words to the indefinite void, unmoved by anything. Sonn did not mind Simoun careless, rather he dared to look at what occupies him. Where Simoun was seated in a condescending manner, Sonn crept to look out of curiosity -  for he thought, 'what is the matter of this old man?'

"Are... are you working on another project?" As he walked towards Simoun, the subject seemed to be startled.

"There you are at! Where have you been?" Simoun in amazement stood as if Sonn just entered. His indifferent, heavy, firm voice welcomed the arrival of his cousin, accompanied by a benumbed gaze. "It is an astonishment seeing you wear that beautiful armor. I am so proud, Sonn." He added, expressing himself proud to see his brother compoosed in his novelty.

"Fetch This, Brother." Sonn in pride responded. He smiled, fetching the sack full of metals for him. "I brought this, too, for you! I took me worried that you merely wear leather jackets and leather clothes! So silly! Ha-ha! I hope you love it."

"For... for me?" Simoun's eyes soaked evidently - perhaps of felicity, he suddenly embraced his brother. "You... You are well gratified, Sonn! Thank you so much!" It was a pair of iron armor for his brother Simoun.

"I am well gratified, Brother! He-he." Sonn seemed to be so happy making Simoun, his brother-cousin, proud and excitedly joyful. He was deeply and positively overwhelmed by Simoun's tears and to satisfy and stop the theatrical drama, Sonn again asked, "What are you writing? Are you working on another project?"

"Sure am I. Look, doesn't this look splendid and cordially designed?" Simoun had no problem happily introducing his new plan.

"An underground basement? But it seems like a magical place. This, sure, would be hard to construct."

"Yes, indeed. I decided to brush aside our bastion-mansion project - I know that that mansion is lovely, but this is more than so! Agree?"

"I think so... You are so good at designing, brother. I guess I have to prepare our dinner. Look, villagers are all locked and sleeping. They really are very nice."

The unfinished bastion-mansion is located at the very west of the village. It was a project started by Simoun after they finished building a wall for the village. The purpose of that project is far indefinite to Sonn and even Simoun himself - upon whether is it of subjective design or of an objective purpose, it is not clear. Simoun designed the initial construction and Sonn helped to provide most of the materials - which are not easy to gather as the Nether is the only place where the bastion-themed materials are available [Nether is merely accessible by constructing a portal using obsidian and igniting it]. It, being, relatively full of hostile and murderous beings, is a very menacing place. The audacity to go there must be backed up with the right equipments - otherwise, you'll experience hell. There, Sonn always explores, making him have the most special accessories. He is a well-trained player - he knows the right approach when dealing with a ferocious monster.

"It is a great milestone for us to just be able to enter the Nether, you know, Sonn?"

   "I agree, Brother."

The Nether gives them the highest insight and intelligence to proceed with more high-grade living. In contrast, the Nether causes them the greatest misfortunes and mischievous tragedies, too. How can there be a more imbecile being than someone who will go there with his cats and the most imperial books - to kill them and burn the tresures?

Given those circumstances, the aggravated Simoun was always in reluctance to attend the Nether. One may think him coward, but he is far tactful and astute. Because of tragedies, satisfying supplication, and richness in culture, Simoun and Sonn formed a flagrant camaraderie . They became cousin-best-friends and fought together to protect their only property - Villa Sur. Although it is inevitable to have issues with each other sometimes, with their considering sentiments, no argument will be left unsolved.
