Edmund never took anyone seriously. It was always all play to him and it was the same thing with Alicia. He didn't get together with her so that he could torment Mateo he did not care about him at all he wondered why people kept asking him how he would react when he knew about the two of them.
On the other hand, Peter was furious people did not follow him. He had thought that after a couple of days they would realize the mistake they had done and follow him.
He could not understand what was so special about Edmund. He did not fear the man.
He had tried to get with the sister so that he could know things but she was way smart for him to handle. They were all the same.
"Hey man", Peter greeted Ben, one of the guys who had decided to stay with Edmund.
"Hey ", Ben said.
"Thanks, for coming to see me ", Peter said.
"I only came because you said you could help us, I don't like him that much either ", Ben said.
"It's fine so how is it going over there?", Peter asked him.
"Not much is going on, he isn't that bad if we are serious you know ", Ben said.
He may have hated Edmund but he could not deny the fact that Edmund was an excellent leader.
"I heard you guys had some trouble with Mateo ", Peter said.
"Yeah but it was sorted out and no one was hurt ", said Ben.
"Don't you guys see that is the problem, they are soft? They don't punish people for the mistakes that they do and just let them off the hook.", Peter said getting infuriated.
"How are people going to respect us if we don't fight? We need to show them who is the boss and we can't do that by following the rules all the time ", said Peter as he tried to convince Ben.
"Man I don't know, what if we get in trouble, I can't risk my family over some stupid vendetta that you have against the Watson brothers", said Ben as he walked away.
Peter was determined to cause chaos. He was still mad at the way Edmund had made him look inferior in front of his people.
He was going to recruit people no matter how long it took. The witches had done them enough harm they didn't deserve to go unpunished.
Peter thought that he was the leader. That he was the one who decided who lived and who died. He was still stuck at the point where he was the leader.
Things had changed and if he tried anything stupid he was going to know that someone else was going to decide if he died.
If there was one thing that Edmund didn't take lightly was a betrayal. Yes, Peter was no longer with them but that didn't mean that he would do things without thinking of the consequences.

The chirping of birds woke up Erin from her slumber. It was the first night she had slept well. Katelyn's bed was comfortable and did not feel like waking up.
If it was possible she would just spend the rest of her day there but she couldn't. She has things to do and the longer she stayed in bed the more she was tempted not to go to work.
She would take the day off, it was not like they paid her that much though.
Katelyn snored softly and Erin wondered at what time she woke up. She looked like a person who was raised with money so she didn't have to go to work or anything.
Her brothers would provide for her, unlike Erin who was all alone. She got out of bed and went to the window and pulled the drapes.
She left the room and made it to the kitchen. She was hungry and their kitchen was stocked. She could make something before she left for work so they wouldn't think badly of her.
There was fresh milk on the stove already and she wondered who had woken up before her. She added more milk to the pot and waited for it to boil.
She kept glancing at the door to see if someone would come but no one was coming. Who would leave milk on the stove and go?
Edmund opened the door of the house and remembered that he had left milk on the stove. He rushed to the kitchen but there was someone there already who was pouring the milk into mugs.
It was not Katelyn and it was not Alicia since he had just escorted her.
"Good morning Erin ", someone said behind her and she was startled.
"Geez do you sneak up on people like that, I almost burnt myself ", said Erin as she put the mug she was holding down and put her hand on her chest as she tried to even her breaths.
"You don't even hear the steps as I was coming in ?"_Edmund asked her as he handed her the sugar she was trying so hard to reach but couldn't.
"I could have taken that myself ", said Erin.
"It didn't look like it you're short and the counter is pretty high just say thank you and let's move on", said Edmund.
"Thank you", she said.
"I have to say I was not expecting you to say it, I thought we were going to argue about it over and over until I just gave up ", said Edmund.
"Unlike you I have manners.", she said.
"Okay princess, there are some muffins there ", he told her as he pointed at the bottom shelf.
"One serious note though you should learn to hear people's footsteps next time it might be someone who wants to hurt you ", said Edmund as he carried the mugs that contained their tea to the living room.
"You mean yourself, the only person who might hurt me is probably you ", said Erin as she took a seat.
"Oooh honey if I wanted to hurt you I would do it another way, and you would like it ", said Edmund smirking.
"Eeww gross ", said Erin as she chuckled.
"Okay princess, be done in thirty minutes so I can walk you to work I don't want anyone else hurting you part from me ", said Edmund as he stood up with his tea and headed up to his room.
