Julie went home feeling anxious after she had been informed by the principal that she was needed home . There was an emergency.
When she arrived at her home she saw Lily her younger sister sitting outside on the steps with teary eyes , as soon as she saw Julie the little girl ran up to her and hugged her tightly .
Lily was an eight years old girl who had brown curly hair with blue eyes she looked exactly like Julie's Mother .
Julie just patted her head and let her cry it all out , a while later Lily pulled back and stared at Julie for a moment as she wiped her tears that were almost drying up .
" Lily what's wrong ,why are you crying " Julie asked with a small frown , " Mommy..... wants....you away " Lily sobbed. " Me away that's not true let's go inside and Mother maybe you misheard her " Julie comforted while holding her hand ready to go inside . When they stepped inside the house Julie was surprised to see the people seated in the living room .
" Mom what's going on ? " Julie curiously asked while staring at the people who were present Aunt Marla , Uncle Johnnie , Ashley her older sister accompanied by her boring husband Ronwaldo . "What are you all doing here is there a problem ? " Julie slowly asked .
" Dear they are here cause there is something we would like to talk to you about__ but first take a seat " Julie's Mother calmly said . Julie sat close to her Mother and waited for them to start , Uncle Johnnie was the first one to talk " Julie my dearest niece you know that we all love you and care for you alot right ?" .
" Yes... I know " Julie answered . " And you know that we all just want the best for you and your siblings right ? " Uncle Johnnie asked once again.
" Yes I do know Uncle but I don't understand what you're trying to say " Julie said impatiently . " Okay let me say this straightforwardly we have decided to get you a full scholarship in one of the best and prestigious schools in the outskirts of Rekha town you will studying there after a month so be ready " Uncle Johnnie said trying to make the idea sound not too bad.
" Wait.....what ..... no !!!!! "Were the words Julie was able to utter before she passed out .
The next morning Julie woke up only to find her Mother packing some of her stuff . " Mother what are you doing with my stuff ? " Julie lazily asked with a yawn .
" Am packing your things because my dear within a month you're going to that prestigious school your Uncle choose for you " Julie's Mother said with a smile .
" But Mother I don't wanna go I want to stay and study here please " Julie pleaded but her Mother was having none of it . " Julie this is the opportunity that we have been waiting for , you will get better education and experience that will come in handy when you are looking for a job " Julie's Mother explained .
" But Mother I love studying here_ what about my friends I am going to be all alone in that school I 'll be friendless " Julie said with a sad voice . " Don't worry you will get new friends and you can always see your friends on holidays " Julie's Mother said consideration filled in her voice .
" But Mother .... " Julie tried to convince her Mother . " A no ! is a no ! Juliette Damien you are going to study at that prestigious school and that is final . Now get ready for school and enjoy your last days there " Julie's Mother declared and with that she left living Julie in a dilemma .
" Why is this happening to me? !! why now ? why me ?" Julie sobbed realizing that there was no way out of this . A while later Julie got ready and left without eating breakfast , when she arrived at school she was greeted by some bad news .
" Julie..... I have to tell you something " Celine said , "What do you want to tell me ? " Julie asked with a small smile .
" It's about Jane " Celine stated . " what about Jane , wait has she made up another fake story again ? " Julie wondered . " No it's not like that it's just that Jane .....left yesterday " Celine replied with a heavy heart .
" What do you mean she has left ? Where has she gone ?Julie questioned. " She got transferred to another school in the outskirts of town . She left yesterday but you weren't here to bid her farewell so she asked me to tell you that she will miss you so much " Celine informed Julie who was now on the verge of breaking down.
" Why is this happening to us do we all have to_ to transfer school ? " Julie sobbed . " Julie what do you mean ? are you transferring too ? "Celine questioned worriedly .
" Unfortunately I am_ transferring too and within a month I don't know what to do am being forced into itand I just can't refuse "Julie replied as she wiped her tears away .
"Come on let's go to class lunch break has ended already " Julie said as she got up and left the cafeteria with Celine .
Days passed and became weeks with Julie trying to convince her Mother but she still failed to change her Mother's mind and when she realized that she couldn't change her mind a month had passed by and it was time for her to go.
" This is it now a new life in a new school " Julie whispered to herself as she looked at her blue suitcase and her new uniform which she had worn .
A white full sleeved shirt with a dark red school coat that had black buttons , a short dark brown skirt , peach coloured stockings paired with black low heeled simple shoes .
" Julie are you done yet your Uncle is already here to pick you up " Julie's Mother informed . " Okay ! l will be done in a sec " Julie replied .
When Julie was ready she looked at her reflection in the mirror and smiled , she tied her hair into a bun to hide her dyed hair with a black ribbon .
When she was done she took her purple bag and suitcase ready to leave but before that she glanced at her room one last time before she closed the door and went downstairs with her things . "Ooooh my dear daughter you look so beautiful in your new uniform " Julie's Mother praised and Julie just smiled bitterly before making her way to where her Mother was .
" I am going to miss you so much My dear go and make me proud " Julie's Mother hoped she would with a smile . " I will Mother for you I will " Julie promised .
" Sister... don't go stay here with me " Lily Julie's younger sister sobbed . " Lily don't be sad it's not like am going far away and not coming back I will be out of town . I will be back to see you and if you miss me so much you and Mom could come visit me " Julie suggested . " O_okay " Lily said with a sob .
" Andy it's time to go " Uncle Johnnie informed as he went outside where he had parked his car , Julie hugged her mother and Lily tightly after saying there last goodbyes Julie stepped outside and got inside Uncle Johnnie's car .
Julie waved goodbye and so did her family . This was it .
It was a long drive to the new school . On their way there Julie ended up falling asleep but was awoken by Uncle Johnnie's ringing phone .
When they had left home the sky was still bright and early but after looking out the window she realized that the sky had turned dark . She also noticed that there was a thick and eerie forest on both sides of the road it was like the whole school was surrounded by it .
" Is this really a safe place to be ? what a creepy place to be called a prestigious school , I hope my life there would be normal " Julie whispered to herself . But that wasn't going to happen not in a million years .
