Nightbourne City. A clean environment where fresh air and mana are abundant. Its name Nightbourne came from the fact that when the planet orbits, it's one of the places where the night shift lasts for a long time. And it became even more true when the phenomenon appeared, the magical beasts that morphed here are all light attributes connected to the moon.
However, it fell from a First-level base city to a Second-level base city because of the phenomenon. That doesn't mean it's a weak city though. The land territory may be remote and the population is small, but the economy is stable and their technology is thriving.
Perhaps it's the development of military power that made it hard for the city to grow into a huge settlement. After all, the highest level of beast tamer here is Master-level, which is the sixth realm on mana oasis. And their numbers are few and can be counted on hand.
Beginner, Apprentice, Professional, Expert, Champion, Master, Grandmaster, and Patron. From lowest to highest. These are the levels established by the National Assembly Of Beastmasters Order.
In the whole Brigantium Nation, there are only thousands of Master-level. The Grandmaster level doesn't even exceed one thousand. As for the Patron level, they are only actually eight of them in the nation.
Hadrian heaved a sigh as he stops reviewing the memories he had received. He put on a white coat with bluish silver linings. It's his counterpart's— well it's his now technically—uniform at the Nightbourne Hospital, where he is doing his internship.
It's still 8'o clock in the morning, and as for his shift at the hospital, it starts at 9'o clock. With that set in his mind, he walks out of his run-down apartment and plans to familiarize himself while having breakfast.
As he strolls outside the street, he marvels at the design of the apartments and every house he saw. Although similar in design, it's obvious that Earth's development will pale compare to Azurite.
He continues to walk in this familiar yet unfamiliar place. He saw an old lady cleaning the street, with a magical beast beside her. According to his counterpart's memory, it's a Prosperity Rat. It has bronze dark skin with silver on some parts.
Hadrian steps faltered when he saw the rat use one of its skills. And from someone like Hadrian who only knows something like this happens in fantasy stories, it felt truly magical.
As the rodent uses its skill, its body glows golden glitter and the surrounding environment seems to shine, dust and dirt seem to shatter.
Under Hadrian's awed gaze, his brain seemed to rumble as his innate talent is triggered.
[Flourish (Intermediate Skill)
• Attributes: Earth, Spirit
• Description: Skill to remove any dirt around the surrounding itself. It can create a flourishing environment. When trained to the extreme, it can also be used on living beings. Making them more clean and lucky.]
[Record (Proceed/Not)?]
To be able to know the details about a skill at one glance. And able to copy and teach it? Isn't that amazing?
Calming his heart, Hadrian proceeded to not record the skill. After all, he didn't even have a beast yet. And he didn't even know what beast he will have shortly. What if that beast doesn't even have corresponding attributes to what beast he will pick?
Shaking his head, Hadrian continues his stride and enters a coffee shop where his counterpart spends most of his time. He immediately orders a cup of coffee and proceeds to sit in a corner just beside the transparent glass window of the interior of the shop.
Time passes by, and Hadrian got used to what he sees. He got used to his situation now. He also saw a lot of magical beasts like a silver cat that has a horn, a golden brown butterfly that is as huge as a human child, a talking rainbow parrot, and many more. It's just a pity that he didn't get to see them use their skills.
Heaving a sigh, Hadrian lifts his wrist to look at his watch. Seeing it was almost work time, he walks out of the shop and just went down straight to the hospital.
Thankfully, it isn't far away. Just a walking distance.
When he arrived at the building, it was exactly as he imagined. The buildings are far more luxurious than Earth. And take note that Nightbourne is only a Second-level base city.
When he enters the hospital, he went immediately through the counter and start to work. Beast Master goes there left and right, and some staff of the hospital and are clients ask for appointments.
Time flew, and Hadrian got used to his work. What he did was only small work like recording data, providing schedules for clients, helping the confined patient with feeding, analyzing the client's body situation through the use of his talent, and concocting some health potions.
As he continues to do his errands, a sound echoes in the hallway with blue light blinking. Most of the medical staff still. Hadrian was no exception because according to what he knows, this means that there is an emergency.
The staff immediately got to work and proceed to exit and Hadrian follow through. There they saw some hospital staff bringing some people. There are seven of them. They have carried injuries to different degrees. Some are even on the verge of passing out.
And judging from their clothes, they are members of the City Branch Allied Force. This is a military unit responsible for guarding the community against ferocious beasts. There's no need to speculate more about how they got into this state.
"Help! Please! Our leader is in danger—"
One of them says in heavy breathing.
On our side. An old woman wearing a doctor's coat, our superior Doctor Lewis, nodded and turn her head to the medical staff, including Hadrian.
Receiving the cue, they immediately got to work.
With a fellow intern, they held up someone. Using their talent, they examine him. Beside Hadrian was another person preparing a kit and a health potion.
After the patient had a first aid treatment, they immediately transferred him directly to one of the rooms and got out again to treat those who are not aided yet. One of their fellow interns was left behind to elevate and examine the patient.
When they got there, they saw Doctor Lewis with another old woman. Treating the leader of the unit. They have solemn expressions and seem to be talking to each other.
"It seems like it. They encounter a rare-type beast, the Permanence Viper." Doctor Lewis said, heaving a sigh.
Hadrian eyes narrowed as he heard them. Because from what he knows from his counterpart, Permanence Viper is a rare-type beast. It was famous for its advanced skill of Spiritual Poison. Unlike other poisons skills, this one is not a poison attribute.
It's a curse attribute skill, once you get bitten, not only your blood will be poisoned but your mind. It has varying effects such as paralyzing, sensory deprivation, high fever, and worst of all, comatose.
"We need to treat him immediately or else he might fall into a coma."
The old woman with Doctor Lewis nodded and a swirling red vortex appeared beside her. She's a Champion-level beast tamer, Hadrian noted.
Under their gazes, a creature appeared beside the old woman. It's as tall as a 3-year-old child. It has a pinkish slim body with round eyes. On its head is a petal-like formation that is white, with some gold glittering on it with black lines.
For the fifth time this day, Hadrian was shocked again. Because this creature isn't just some creature. It's also a rare-type beast, the Moon-shadow Camelia! It is also a dual attribute of light and spirit. An extremely strong auxiliary beast that is unique to Nightbourne!
"Incarnation." The old woman murmured.
Under Hadrian's astonished gazes, a shocking change appeared.
Blinding white light envelops the old woman and the Moon-shadow Camelia. Gold lifelike threads appeared between the two of them. And the Moon-shadow Camelia seems to become translucent while the old woman transformed.
On her head was some white petal-like coronet, and her hair began to become translucent white.
There is a familiar rumbling again on Hadrian's mind.
[★ Incarnation (Superb Skill)
• Attributes: Spirit
• Description: Skill that allows the user to incarnate their body into a living being, allowing the incarnated body to use the incarnated host's power and bring out even greater power.]
[Record (Proceed/Not)?]
This continuous change stunned Hadrian so that he didn't even have time to compose himself. But he still found himself recording the skill. Because this skill is so powerful! Superb Skill is one level higher than Advance Skill. As for attributes, well, Hadrian can just deal with that later.
The new incarnation old woman lifts her hand. An almost blinding white light emerges from it and gathers toward the injured leader of the unit before.
And there another rumble appeared again in Hadrian eyes.
[★ Moon Enlightenment (Advance Skill)
• Attributes: Spirit, Light
• Description: Skill that allows the user to borrow the moonlight to purify negative effects on the body, mind, spirit, and even bloodline. The stronger the moonlight power gathered, the stronger the purification.]
[Record (Proceed/Not)?]
In a daze, Hadrian immediately proceeded to record it.
This skill... too powerful!
