Ben got a call from Liam for a sudden meet-up.
"Alex,"
"Yeah,"
"I will have to meet Liam, for some matter,"
"Ok. But take the team with you and I'll take care of the girls,"
With that, I left to meet Laim, an outdoor eatery with a view of the river.
"Sorry for being a bit late," I said looking at him.
"Is everything ok?" asked Liam.
"Something happened to Alex's wife but now she's stable,"
"Sorry to hear that,"
"Why did you suddenly want to meet?"
"Well I met Maverick," said Liam.
"Must have felt strange,"
"Yes, especially when he looked like me before the surgery,"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Yes, Ben go ahead,"
"Why did you get full-face plastic surgery?" I saw how his face changed, filled with rage.
"I went there to get the scar treated but in the end when I looked in the mirror my face had changed. All this was done by grandfather, with his instructions,"
I felt pretty bad for him. He must have suffered a lot.
"I am sorry. It must have been painful to know the truth,"
''Yes, but I have overcome them somehow. But I feel a bit lost at times,"
They chatted for a while and went back to talk about Maverick.
"From what I found out Grandfather had played two roles, in front of him and me,"
"You mean, two different personalities,"
"Yes, while he was more controlling towards me. He was much nicer toward Maverick. And take special care of him too,"
"So he was the leader in training, not you?" I asked feeling a bit odd about what was that Senior Alexander thought.
"But one thing is pretty sure, he never knew about the revenge plan," said Liam sipping his cup of tea.
"Hmm....But why did he never let you two meet before?"
"I still couldn't find an answer for it either,"
"Could there be another mystery apart from what we know?"
"Hmm.. could be," said Liam with a sign.
We went on talking till Liam got a call. He looked as if he felt relief from all his trouble after a long time. I looked at him, hoping he will tell me.
"A weight off me, I had the engagement to Ms.Smith called off," said Liam signaling for another cup of tea.
"She is a spoiled girl, I am glad you were able to call it off without any issues," I felt bad for him really, he had gone through emotionally and physically.
"It seems they are sending her off to her uncle far away, who is known to be pretty strict and lives a traditional life," he said with a smile.
I approved it with a nod. A good punishment for a spoiled girl, let's hope she'll learn her lesson.
"I felt a bit bad for her actually. Mr.Smith and his wife never acknowledged or loved Jane, so she turned to be a wild girl to get their attention,"
"Do you know why they did it?" I asked as I was curious.
"They only cared about the son. He is a scholar with a good reputation. But it also seems that Jane was destroying everything with her wild behavior,"
"Too bad,"
"So what about Maverick?" I asked.
"I will meet him again soon and see what he has to say,"
"Ok, I hope to hear from you soon,"

"I have no idea. He also said that he called off the engagement to Smith,"
"That's good. No one would want a crazy girl,"
"I do really feel bad for him. He really has suffered a lot mentally and physically,"

"He's a mystery but the old man has treated them two very different," I said.
"Oh really,"
"Yes. Liam said that Maverick never knew about the revenge plot,"
"That's strange, how can we be sure if they are telling the truth?"
