As the week of the holiday began, Meg had a few days off.
"Alex,"
"Yes, Ms.Tomboy," said hugging her tighter.
"Let's go somewhere with Ben and Sarah,"
"Babe, why don't we spend some time together,"
"Why?"
"They both need some time together too. And it has been a lot going on,"
"What happened, Alex? You didn't tell me,"
While Meg made breakfast Alex told her what was happening the last few weeks in detail. She was so angry that Little Bud was harmed and accused of wrongly. It was a good thing Stacy was behind bars if not she would have been harmed by a crazy Cardiologist.
"So you tell me all this now?"
"Why, did I do anything wrong, your highness?"
"You should have told me before, so I could have looked after Little Bud,"
"As if you had time," said Alex with a cheeky smile on his face.
The next thing he knew was a piece of a paper ball flying in his direction.
"OK, Ms,.Tomboy, I am sorry for not telling you in advance. How can you work with all this in your head?"
"Hmm... ok... so what are we going to do then?" she asked giving up the fight.
"Let's go on a date," was all he said and in half an hour they were ready to head for the movies.
After the movie, they head out to have lunch at a cafe nearby.
"Nutmeg, who is following us?" said Meg with a concerned look on her face. But When Alex looked around he saw his security team tagging along a few feets behind.
"This is all Benny's work, darling. Don't worry. He doesn't mean no harm,"
"But this means we have a big problem in front of us?"
"Yes, dear. But forget it. They mostly try to attack Little bud as he is more concerned about her," Alex said without thinking which made Meg really worried.
She realized that things are not simple as they seem. With security and the two bodyguards personally assigned for her even at the hospital since last week. But when it comes to Ben and Alex, who are possessive of them, would do anything to safeguard their loved ones. But to help her mind be at ease, she called Ben,
"Hi, Ms.Tomboy, how is your date?" asked Ben who was looking at Sarah doing some hand embroidery.
"It's going on ok Ben. But why didn't you tell me that Little Bud was injured?"
"I am sorry Meg, I really didn't want to trouble you with all this. Sarah is ok, I will take extra care of her from now on,"
"You better try and find out who is behind all this, before things get much uglier,"
"Hmm.. yes. The more we try to find it, the messier it gets. And Alex believes the person behind all these might be someone who knows Sarah and me. But I cannot think of anyone,"
"Well we all only met during our university time, but I don't think anyone had any interest in either of you, Ben," said Meg after a few minutes.
"We'll talk about this later, Meg. You enjoy your time with Alex."
"OH...tell Sarah to be ready tomorrow, we need to go and check out the wedding dresses,"
"Ok I will. Have fun,"
After the call, Meg looked at Alex, who had his face staring at her face.
"Booo" was all Meg said.
"Did you say wedding dress shopping?"
"Hmm... yes... why?"
"Can I please come too and bring Benny boy?"
"Why?"
"'Well, 'cause the groom and the best man need some new clothes too you know"
"Oh really, selecting something for you guys is easy,"
"You think?"
"Let's see tomorrow. But you will have to ask Ben to join,"
"OK.. Thank you," he said with a peck on her nose.
As it started to rain, they headed back home and spent some time making a plan for the donation they were giving this weekend to the orphanage in Meg's hometown. This has been a ritual with her and Sarah to help out the kids once a month by visiting or donating necessities for them. After meeting with Ben and Alex, they volunteered to help with the girl's monthly ritual.
That evening Meg received a parcel from Sarah containing, clothes and books for the kids. While Ben had spent on getting booking the medical camp for the kids. Markus and his team had gathered food and some toys for the youngest occupants in the orphanage. While Alex, who had been a merrier one kids loved best, had organized a party to celebrate every kid's birthday on one day at a nearby park.
