I was able to finish the rough drafts and hand them over to the team. While Alex took charge of the whole office for the coming week. He said I should have a proper rest and some fun time with Little Bud. My father pitched in he will only call when the company is on fire and almost on the ground.
The rumors in the office were not too bad or not so loud. But they had confusion, which was dismissed by Alex spending a lot of time with us. As usual, Markus accompanied us. Since we are going on a holiday I asked him to bring his girlfriend - a little plump sweet girl, Sally. She had loved Sarah from the time she had met her.
We landed and left the city to head to the beach paradise.
"Miss Sarah, look at those lights, aren't they look like little fireflies," said Sally taking Sarah's hand.
"Yes, they do look really pretty," she said wondering out of the window admiring the view.
The place looked magnificent and ultra-modern. I went into our room and unpacked while Sarah went to explore the place. Yes, she is a tech geek. Loves anything that comes with little gadgets.
The butler, an old gent around his sixties, bought us some drinks.
I went looking for Sarah. There she was sitting on a bench facing the beach. her light blue dress almost camouflaged her from the scenery. I handed her the drink and sat with her till Markus came and tolded us that dinner was ready.
The next day, Markus and Sally went to explore the town while we enjoyed the beach.
"Sweety,"
"Hmm,"
"Come on let's go for a swim," even though she doesn't know how to swim much, she was not afraid to try when she is with me. And the water here is just, up to the waist.
"I feel a bit scared," said hugging herself.
"Trust me," I asked to hold her hand, and guided her into the water.
She wore a flared skirt, which is about two inches above her knee with a white sleeveless tee. I bought her a few similar dresses so she will be comfortable, as she said she won't wear swimsuits.
I was secretly happy with this, so no other guy can look at her and drool. But this dress code made her stand out more, in front of those who were in bikinis.
"Wow this feels so cool," she said looking around, checking out the view under the sea.
"Do you want to try floating?" I asked as I knew she liked this so much.
"I am scared. This is not a pool and what if a big wave comes in," she said worriedly.
"I will hold you, just for five minutes please," I urged her. After a few more tries she agreed.
"I see you loved it," I said teasing her while walking back to the beach.
"Hmm..."
"WOW.... did I hear someone make some growling noises,"
"I am sorry, this weather and paly is making me a bit hungry,"
As on cue, the butler bought out lunch near the table under the big tree. I snapped a photo of us and the lunch and send it to the family chat group.
"Look who's calling,"I said to Sarah, showing Alex on call.
"Hi," she said,
"Little Bud!!!!!..... hold up is that a lobster?" asked Alex, who loves seafood.
"Why are you jealous?" she asked,
"These are fresh out of the sea, man. And taste heavenly," I said making him drool over.
"Na... I am not... you know I am turning vegetarian," he said mockingly.
"Too bad I was already thinking of coming here for Christmas vacation. Since you don't like seafood, I will not invite you,"
"BEN!!!!!"
"I was just joking, Nutmeg,. And how's the situation in the office?" I asked as I wanted to know the project.
"The work is going on smooth. But the media has been going crazy,"
"What happened now?" asked, Sarah.
"OH they say you went MIA with your mistress,"
"Just let them have their fun till they get the news of the decade," I said laughing.
"Dude even though you guys have the sun up it's pretty late in here. I am off to be cozy with my Ms. Tomboy,"
"OK...Alex, good night and don't make babies..."
The butler came back with a plate full of tropical fruit dipped in whipped cream.
"Uncle the food was really delicious," said Sarah.
"Thank you, Miss. Would you like to try out some dumplings for dinner," he asked with a curious look.
"What do you say little bud?" I asked her, as I know she was eyeing some local hot pot.
"Hmmm.... yes I like it and uncle can we also have hot pot please," she asked hiding behind me, maybe she felt embarrassed.
"Yes, sir. I will arrange the hot pot and the dumplings on the veranda," he said looking at them lovingly. He loved these guests as they were very polite and considerate about them. Not like most of the elite and rich couples that come here often.
"Sir, tonight it might rain a bit, so please refrain from going for a stroll," he said and bowed out.
Markus and Sally came back in the evening with hands full of stuff. They had bought gifts for everyone. Some hand-made local jewelry for the girls and some scarfs for the older madams.
"What a knight in shining amour?" Sarah said as she saw the little sculpture made out of seashells.
"I got it for Alex, sir," said Markus who knew the story too well.
"Maybe I should get him a dinosaur?" I said making everyone laugh while Markus told the story to Sally.
"Dinner is ready," said the butler.
"Oh my, uncle you have outdone yourselves," said Sarah as he saw the amount of food he had prepared. She looked at me and i knew what she was thinking,
"Uncle, why don't you and the others join us,"
"Ah..." he looked a bit surprised. Maybe no one has ever invited them before. "I don't think it's appropriate, sir,"
"No uncle. The pleasure is ours. You and the team have been working hard and doing your best for us. So please, come and join us," I said while Markus also encouraged them to join.
