Chapter 21 - A week full of us - part 2

It was fun to have dinner with the butler and his other workers. They were so friendly and entertained us with folk tales and songs.

Last night it rained a bit heavy. As usual, I woke up a bit early and looked at her. She was still fast asleep. After tucking her in, I went out of the bedroom.

"Good morning, sir," said the butler.

"Good morning," I said with a smile as I strolled out to the veranda. The view looked breathtaking early in the morning. Tomorrow I have to wake her up early to show her this.

"Sir, would you like a cup of tea?"

"Hmm.. yes please,"

As I was enjoying the calmness of my surroundings, Markus came with some official e-mails from Jason. I am glad that Alex is taking care of things with the help of my father. The Alexander project has been handed over while some new proposals have been sent our way.

I called Jason and advised him to let the new project proposals be on hold till I come back. As I wanted to meet the clients in person I also advised Jason to apologize in advance on my behalf for the delay as I was out of the country.

"HI, Ben,"

"What's up Alex, how are things there?"

"Everything is going on smoothly. Hmm.. the media is really making a ruckus over you being away,"

"Hmmm... I feel like someone is purposely doing this?" I said.

"Why?"

"I have been away from the country for months before. They didn't bother those times, but why are they doing this now?"

"You do have a point?" asked Alex.

"I think it's best to investigate the media firms to find out more,"

"OK I will look into it," he said.

I felt a pair of hands around my neck and looked around to see Little Bud.

"You have woken up early," she said.

"Hmm, the view was really pretty, tomorrow you will watch it with me," I said to her handing her my cup of tea.

"hmm.. you have to wake me up then," she said.

"We have got a few new projects and I asked them to keep them on hold till we go back,"

"Then what about Bronston's project?"

"We will do it from home, you and me," I said with a peck on her nose.

We all had breakfast together and the Butler had arranged for us to go on a hike with his team and picnic at a mountain with a scenic view.

"Honey, don't you think this view is giving you inspiration for the Brinston project," asked Sarah.

"hmm..... do you have a concept in mind?" I asked as we all settled down beside the shade of a tree.

While I helped others to arrange the food and have a rest, Sarah started to sketch out her idea. As usual, she was engrossed in her work so I fed her little by little watching what she was drawing.

After about an hour or so, she handed me the sketch.

"Wow!!" said Sally looking at it. Making everyone peak in to have a look.

"Markus, you have checked the land for the project with me, what do you think?" I asked.

"I like this new concept - the vision- of having a glass diamond dome to illuminate the light to make a pattern."

"Let's research how we can build this, so we can produce it at the bidding day," I said, looking at Sarah.

She was a visionary, while I, being the one who brings life to her visions, was a bigger challenge. But this concept was really unique. The whole area is covered with a glass dorm with stairs going around it, quite similar to the mountain hike we had today.

We went back just before it turned dark. A light dinner was served, with some fresh juice. Little Bud and I went for a stroll at the night. The sea breeze was too cool and comfortable. We sat down for a while to enjoy the sound of the waves and feel the breeze.

The next few days, we spent time relaxing and having the best days of our time apart from the busy schedule at home. Sarah got to draw a few sceneries while enjoying the time.

To our surprise, Mr.Wong came to visit us one day.

"Everyone let me introduce you to Mr.Wong, the owner," said the Butler one day.

"It's nice to meet you all young ones," he said with a smile on his face.

"Thank you for letting us stay, Mr.Wong," I said introducing the others.

"Sarah, you look so much like your brother, Dave," he said looking at her.

"Have you met him sir," she asked.

"Yes, he was a wonderful young man. Very talented. I guess you don't remember that you visited here after his funeral,"

"No sir, I don't. I was in a trance for a few months and I cannot recall anything," she said looking down, tears pooling in her eyes.

"Hmm... Dave is her brother. He was murdered actually, not a simple hit and run," I said to others and explained to Mr.Wong. While pulling little Bud to my embrace.

"OH my!!!, Mr.White said something about it to me too. So have you found any evidence?"

"Not yet sir. We have found out who might have done it, but we don't know the motive or the proper evidence to pinpoint and accuse them," explained Markus.

"Well, let's hope you guys can find him," he said while answering a call.

After chatting for a while Mr.Wong took us out to give us a surprise, A spend a day in his private yacht.

"This is my gift to you guys, for being so good to the workers here," he said.

"Sir, this is too much and we treated them the same way we treat others," I said looking at Sarah.

"But for them, how you treated them was special, not like most of those elite kids that come here, he said getting while getting on the Yacht.

We knew it was too rude to refuse again, so we all accompanied him to spend the day. He especially took us around to see the sunset from the yacht and to a little island for a picnic at the beach.

After we came back, we thanked Mr.Wong and his team for his hospitality, and for my surprise, he presented Sarah with a Lavender Jade bracelet, saying it was an heirloom belonging to his family. As he doesn't have any daughters he had always been keeping this to hand over to Sarah as a gift to continue their friendship in years to come.
