Chapter 25 - We never left nature

Odin knocked on the door and waited for Ulv to open the door, but after a few minutes, no one opened the door. He knocked again and the same thing happened.

Odin sighed and used his suit's phase ability to enter. He moved through the house before arriving at a door covered in many old engravings. Odin was about to knock it he heard the voice of a man crying in pain.

The muffled screams of two people came as the cry died down. Odin quickly switched his vision spectrum and focused on the x-ray wavelengths. Inside, the room where 8 people, three of them, were tied to chairs and five stood around them holding knives and other metal objects.

Odin immediately saw the bits of armor that Odin had sent to Ulv in one of the people tied to the chair. Odin turned serious and phased through the door.

Once inside, he could fully see what was going on. Ulv, a man that looked like an older Ulv, and a young woman were tied to the chair by five men that wore combat suits. The men had an insignia of a red wolf on their shoulders. They seemed to be focused on the older man as they were beating the man using blunt weapons.

One of the men, who was the tallest of them, kept staring coldly at the older man as he cried in pain.

'He's the leader if not, this is going to suck.' Odin said as he took out his sword and slowly walked up to one of the men.

The invisibility ability of the Baphomet gene wasn't just instantaneous invisibility, it could also mess with people's vision, making the target ignore a certain thing.

Odin could easily stand in the center, have blinding golden light and a choir of angels singing loudly, yet his target would ignore the place and even if he looked, his brain would think it saw nothing.

Of course, compared to the normal invisibility, this was less advanced than if one used cameras or the like they would see Odin. This was the same ability he used outside to take the homeless man and the same ability he would use to kill the men unexpectedly.

The sword Odin used was made the same way as his armor. It was made using a liquid metal and then integrated with nanites to keep it solid and to allow it to be stored within the body. Just like the armor that held the shards of andromeda, the sword held the divine hearts of the empresses.

The hearts each held strong power and dominion over either a concept or element. The most well know where the heart of the frost empress which froze the world of mellion-2, the heart of the empress of isolation which slew the sentinel god himself, and the heart of the empress of apathy which was used in creating the proto god slayers.

Of course, there were also unknown ones, like the empress of silence, which tried to mimic the emotion of the outer gods.

Each heart gave the user the abilities of said empress like the divine heart of frost allowed one to freeze people. Odin controlled the sword and turned it into a longsword before walking to one of the men.

His the blade of his sword changed colors and became a purplish blue. He grabbed the man's mouth and stabbed the man in the heart. The sword glowed lightly and energy flowed down to the stomach, shattering the place the soul resided in.

The man went limp as Odin dragged his body outside the room using his phase ability. In a few minutes, this happened three more times. The tall man and the rest never realized what had happened.

The man felt confused as he looked at the three hostages. He soon realized he wasn't integrating them. He had stopped, and he was just staring dumbly at them. He picked up the metal bat and got ready to start, but soon he felt a hand on his shoulder.

He looked up straight and saw the three hostages starting at him or more like behind him. Turning around, he saw the body of a tall figure. As he kept looking up, he became frighted at the sight of the man two times his height.

The five red eyes from the helmet sacred him as if he was looking at the eyes of a dread bear or scorch lion. As he backed up, he realized he had brought other people with him, but now they were gone.

This realization made the man more afraid this man had entered and taken care of his men right in front of him and no one even noticed. The man's eyes showed extreme fear as he reached the wall. He muttered.

"How?"

"Who knows but I know you have the answers you're looking for, so how about we exchange you answer my questions? I let you walk away from this house. I promise on my heart," Odin said as he walked toward the man.

"You promise?" the man was not thinking rationally and just wanted to escape, so he was willing to say or do anything to escape.

"Yes, I'm going for the source pawns like you aren't worth it," Odin said as he sat on the wooden desk.

The man hesitated a bit before he started saying everything he knew.

It was a generic plot. Ulv's father was a great scientist, and he was close to making a grand discovery that might help Axis-9 connect with earth but some figures above didn't want this, so they wanted him dead.

This man who belonged to an organization known as the Helvete Ulver took on the job and that leads up to today. The reason they were torturing him was that there were other researchers in his group, but they had gone into hiding after getting news of the plot.

Ulven, the father, had only returned to get his children, but was the first one to be targeted.

Odin looked at the man and asked a final question.

"What is your fascination with wolves like the kid is named wolf the dad is The wolf your organization is hell wolfs is the empire called ulveimperium?" Odin had been wondering why does everything have a wolf or some connection to it.

Odin had seen a few shops that were something wolf like, proud wolf great wolf and the like it seemed like out of any Norwegian word, Ulv was the most used.

"It came from the colony of vinter ulv the first colony made on this world. Most of us used that as our name or family name to represent our lineage." the man said.

"Ok well, that's all as promised. You can walk away from this house. Follow me," Odin said as he got up and walked out.

The man let out a sigh before quickly sprinting out of the room. As he exited the door, he felt a burning pain in his stomach before everything became void.

"I always keep my promises. It's just that no one ever pays attention to the wording. No wonder they called me the devil hehe." Odin said as he activated the inferno empress heart and burnt the body.

"They say once you see a human as an animal killing becomes natural, but that's wrong humans are animals we aren't a superior thing we just adapted the best we feel mighty with our thinking rocks and our exploding tubes yet most of us don't even know how to make them and even more so none of us know how to survive in a more natural environment we never left nature we just restructured it to our needs." Odin said as he looked at the ash.
